  1. I know, we were talking about that too!! At least I can report on all the medical facilities though lol. I really wonder if it is the fogging setting me off. When I was sick on the Anthem cruise we met you guys on, they were fogging for noro and our cabin was in the thick of the outbreak. I heard the fogging last night in the hallway. I know there is influenza on this ship from the chatter in medical. Who knows…..
  2. Medical on Oasis is so much better than Quantum. I am now in isolation on Oasis for 24 hours. Testing negative for Covid but need another negative tomorrow to be set free. Had a nebulizer treatment and Covid test and left with a few medications all in less than an hour. Have already heard from guest services. Never got the promised call on Quantum. Free room service, free bottled water and free pay per view movies. Guess I won’t make our Cats reservation this afternoon.
  3. Hopefully it will be in better shape next week. Lots of water issues this week. All cabins had no water for a short time Tuesday due to a burst pipe as we were arriving in Port Canaveral. Some public restrooms have been out of order for days. We have had three different days that toilets on our deck weren’t working. One day it was for over two hours.
  4. They aren’t blocked out, those are the available cabins in that category for you to choose from. The darker one is the one that is currently chosen. edit: if you mean the gray space, that is the crew stairs and elevator.
  5. The bottled water on the ships has always been spring water up until just before Covid. Some ships had purified while others had spring. Our Alaska cruise earlier this year also had spring water, not purified. You really shouldn’t guarantee something you haven’t actually experienced on the ships.
  6. Oasis this week is True purified water, not spring water.
  7. LOL We posted at the same time, look at the timestamps, they are one minute away from each other, I never even saw your post. I replied to the OP, not you, as this is not about you.
  8. Has anyone had any success getting a Royal UP bid accepted on the ship after receiving one of the emails saying the onboard team is still reviewing and we will hear on the ship? I got the email tonight. It says they will charge our onboard account if our bid is accepted but I have never read any posts saying someone got their bid accepted on the ship. We booked a dirt cheap balcony, so put in a stronger bid then we have in the past. Guess we won't unpack until after we sail...
  9. I have no idea what you are trying to get at. I stand by what I said in my post, no one can tell the OP what the requirements will be in May, they need to wait until closer the their cruise.
  10. If you aren't sure what has been said in the thread, I would suggest you reread the posts.
  11. I am only ten minutes into it and not sure I will make it the whole show. Pretty lame. Marc Walker posted earlier on FB that he had auditioned for the show.
  12. No one can tell you what the requirements will be in May. You need to wait until closer to your cruise.
  13. It would be refundable OBC that would go back to the credit card of record if not used by the end of the cruise.
  14. You shouldn't have to argue with anyone. I would call Guest Services and ask what the policy is and make sure you have all refund information in hand before you leave the ship.
  15. I clicked the Covid refund and cancellation policy link in that link and read the PDF. I think you get prorated cruise fare. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/pdf/covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds-policy.pdf FOR ALL RCI CRUISES BOOKED ON OR AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE ON SAILINGS SCHEDULED TO SAIL ON OR BEFORE APRIL 30, 2023 Denial of Embarkation or Reboarding; Quarantine and/or Disembarkation • If you are denied embarkation or reboarding, or quarantined or disembarked during your cruise, due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being suspected of having COVID-19, you are entitled to a refund for the cruise fare paid to RCI in the event of denial at embarkation, or a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of your cruise fare in all other cases. If you are required to quarantine onboard the vessel, days spent in quarantine shall be treated as unused days of the cruise.
  16. Some information at this link. Feel better soon. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered
  17. Or just go into CK and enjoy your meal. If you don't like the table, request a different one. There is no need to put on a show and throw money around in CK. The waitstaff and host remember us every evening and seat us at our preferred table without being pretentious.
  18. We have done Alaska twice in May. May is cheaper than July and not as crowded. We saw lots of wildlife on both sailings. We did miss Dawes Glacier due to the ice field that is common in the beginning of the Alaska season. We had great weather both times. This past May it was 80 while we were in Skagway!
  19. I agree, the captain didn’t look happy at all. It is hard to tell how bad the timing was because of editing but it did seem like there was a lot of time between courses. Food looks good though. New stew knows her stuff but looks like she and Tumi might clash.
  20. They said they thought it was the pump in the dishwasher and messed around for a couple of hours. Last I heard them say was they were going to leave so he could cook and come back later. I was surprised they didn't give him someone to help him clean the galley so he had time to prepare. I think they will make this work once he actually has time to cook.
  21. Radiance does one way northbound followed by a one way southbound. It sails between Vancouver and Seward.
  22. We have done Alaska on both Radiance and Quantum. We preferred Radiance for the itinerary and the ability to add a land tour that went into Denali National Park. That was a 15 day vacation that is not always a possibility. Radiance does not have the activities and food options though and the evening entertainment was lacking. Never sailed a ship that had a movie in the theatre most nights. We preferred Quantum for the ship itself. We love all the activities and food options that Quantum has to offer. Entertainment is much better too. Seaplex is a unique venue with lots going on all the time and we love Two70. Sailing from Seattle is easier to fly in and out of but the one way on Radiance and sailing more of the inside passage is worth the inconvenience of flying to Anchorage. I would look at what ports they each go to and consider excursions and what you must do things are, especially if this is the only time you are going to Alaska. Excursions can be really pricy so consider that when you are trying to decide.
  23. My nephew actually ran the London marathon yesterday. He is just over two weeks post covid, so he did finish, but did not best his Boston marathon time. My sister was happy that there was an app to follow allowing as he was over there on his own.
