There is an apple cake recipe that I like a lot that was posted many, many years ago by a woman named Meryll who used to post on cruise critic. Sadly, she died many years ago. I had the privilege of meeting her on Mariner back in 2006. I know it was posted in the Cruising Jewish thread that is in the Floataway Lounge. I make the cake every year after we go apple picking. I will see if I can find the original recipe with the instructions.

We stay at Embassy Suites in Elizabeth, NJ near the Newark Airport. They have an outdoor lot and used to have a park and cruise rate. We have never parked there though, we prefer to park at the port so we can head home immediately after the cruise. There is nothing really close though, most are 20 minutes away.

Take out from main dining room?
reallyitsmema replied to rorito's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were able to get take out from the MDR on one cruise but we only did it for one night. We had to talk to the head waiter who got one of the my time dining room waiters to take out order and then we were told were to sit and wait. Waiter brought out a large tray of covered plates. My DH and I each stacked three covered plates and took them back to our cabin. -
You get an e-receipt mailed to you with the QR code and it is also in the app.

You put all the information into ArriveCan and then finish it 72 hours prior to your sailing. Our Canada stop was on day 7 of our cruise. We did nothing in ArriveCan while on the ship.

Unfortunately, nothing is "simple and uncomplicated" these days. FYI, the My Time Dining change is not a covid change, that happened before the cruise shutdown.

Emails are sent out as you get closer to sailing date. You will be getting many once you are actually a month out from your sailing. As far as not knowing about the "Canada thing" prior to a post on the rollcall, it is up to all of us to know the requirements to sail. We all have to do our research. The information is there if you look.

September 29th is not less than 4 weeks away.

You aren't reading the cruise line's website, the information is readily available there. You should also be reading all the emails they send out telling you that ArriveCan is needed. It was also in our cruise docs when we sailed. Choose Cape Liberty, Canada sailing here and it tells you exactly what is required. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise

Expiration dates have been extended, so check the online list of new expiration dates for the kind of tests you have. Onpoint will accept the expired test if it is on the list, so you might be able to use your older ones and save the ones that are coming this week.

That is how all the machines are in the lounges. An americano is as close to a simple cup of coffee as you will get.

Nothing weird about that, that combo has been around for years. -

Refreshment Package - 2 Questions
reallyitsmema replied to caravellov1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Finger on the button has nothing to do with timing on freestyle machines. As long as the cup with the RFID chip stays in the machine, you can overflow the cup if you want. As far as timing on the freestyle machines, there used to be a 15 minute wait on some ships, but I haven't seen a ship with a wait time on the freestyle machine in years. -
It usually takes 7 to 10 days to get a refund back on cruise planner items.

Refreshment Package - 2 Questions
reallyitsmema replied to caravellov1's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes, you can get a bottle of water at the same time as a mocktail or other drink that is covered. I have never had a time restriction between drinks on the refreshment package and we get it every cruise. -
Serenade of Seas Alaska Booze Cruise

Only class of ship I haven't sailed and likely never will. -
Serenade of Seas Alaska Booze Cruise
reallyitsmema replied to jlsqs's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I would expect the noise from the Centrum on that class of ship but I wouldn't expect a booze cruise on an Alaska sailing. When we sailed Radiance to Alaska, it was a very laid back, sedate cruise. Quantum was more lively. I would check guest services for ear plugs and ask about closing fire doors if you are near those. That helped a lot.
