Be Careful What You Buy on Board
reallyitsmema replied to nelblu's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The compass is absolutely published. It is available on your TV in your stateroom, it is available in the app, it is available in PDF form by scanning a QR code found on your TV in your stateroom or on a printed card on the vanity, and it is available in printed form from your cabin steward or from guest services. -

We have also bought excess alcohol but have declared it on our form. On one cruise, you had to go to a specified lounge to appear before a customs agent to show your overage. Customs agent sort of laughed at our extra two bottles and said have a nice day. Didn't charge us the couple extra dollars due. -

It is a matter of personal responsibility. We all look into what documents we need to cruise or to fly, or to travel to a different country during covid, we also need to know what we need to do to get back home too. -

Or the guests could educate themselves before travelling and make sure they know what they are allowed to spend duty free and what they need to be prepared to declare. -

I would see if you can find that information here: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/clearing-cbp/traveler-entry-form -

The form is available online or you can request one at guest services if you know you have paid more than your personal allowance. -

Ricardo couldn't tell you what was going on as he likely didn't know either. He was doing what he was told. I am sure it was stressful for all involved but they are just following instructions. He didn't know if it was duty that was owed or something was found in your luggage as it was being taken off the ship and you were going to meet the drug dogs. -
Is it worth it to go to Wonderland again?
reallyitsmema replied to Jenna's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have done Wonderland on Anthem and would do it again. I would not have them pick my courses though, I would pick the courses that we enjoyed the most. We loved the crab cones and the shrimp. Tomato water on Anthem was delicious and very cold and refreshing. We didn't love the tuna tartare, weird texture thing for us. I would reduce the entrees to two, not the three we got before as it was too much food. I would save room for desserts! -

If he purchased a watch higher than his allowance, he needs to declare the purchase and pay what is due. There was information in the compass about what the allowances are and it is up to the passenger to declare or be caught. The ship has always reported to CBP, nothing new at all. -
So, What Is The Final Word...

Make sure you hit the refresh button in your app when you are on the cruise compass page. That makes a huge difference in keeping the compass up to date. -
Thanks. Actually just got back from the doctor's, three new prescriptions. Did a PCR test for covid and influenza, since the ship only did an antigen test and I have been testing for covid with home tests. All tests have come back negative for covid up until now, so will be interesting to see if PCR finds something. Lots on my FB rollcall have covid, some have flu and one is hospitalized with noro. How is your husband doing? Hopefully, he rests and allows himself to heal.

Just curious what you do if you have an issue when travelling and don't have your phone. Having recently had to call AAA twice because of damaged tires, I definitely needed my phone or I would have been standing waiting for a stranger to stop and help me. I have also gotten sick on my last two cruises and needed to make calls. I could have used the high priced phone in my cabin, but our cellphones allowed by my DH and I to make calls and handle arrangements that needed to be made. -

I found the QR code on the compass channel on the tv. Didn’t find it on the desk but got a 19 page document from the tv. -

Thanks, I will look through the stuff we have and see if we buried it. -

Well, considering I am in isolation, I don’t happen to have any of those people hanging out with me. I am only on my phone because I am in my cabin. -

I know you can’t see it before your cruise. I am on a cruise now and can not see a PDF link. I was asking anyone who has actually seen the link where it is located. -

Where is the PDF link available? I am not seeing it in the app. I am getting a paper copy on Oasis. The cabin steward started leaving it a few days ago. -
Compensation for Covid Isolation
reallyitsmema replied to Bruin Steve's topic in Royal Caribbean International
That is the way they have done reimbursement for as long as I can remember. -
I know, we were talking about that too!! At least I can report on all the medical facilities though lol. I really wonder if it is the fogging setting me off. When I was sick on the Anthem cruise we met you guys on, they were fogging for noro and our cabin was in the thick of the outbreak. I heard the fogging last night in the hallway. I know there is influenza on this ship from the chatter in medical. Who knows…..
