  1. Maybe it's triggered when your remaining balance is below the cost of Princess Vacation Protection on the booking?
  2. I just paid for the majority of my July cruise with AARP gift cards, leaving a balance of $347. The final payment date isn't until April, but I just received a "shortfall notice" from Princess stating the balance due. Does Princess automatically send these out if you have a small balance left, even if you're not near the final payment date? I'll pay it when I can purchase another card next month. When I read further down in the notice, it says "THE FINAL PAYMENT RECEIVED WAS INSUFFICIENT TO COVER THE PRINCESS VACATION PROTECTION/PLATINUM VACATION PROTECTION FEE. THE PRINCESS VACATION PROTECTION/PLATINUM VACATION PROTECTION HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE BOOKING." I looked at the booking and the insurance is still on there. Does anybody have experience with this? I'm not going to bother calling since the call center doesn't know how to do much except try to upsell to one of the packages. I'll email my pvp but they don't work on the weekends, so I wondered if I could get any answers here in the meantime.
  3. A couple of days ago my personalizer on the princess website would not accept a credit card payment. Tried several different cards, it just wouldn’t process it. Turns out a lot of people were having the same issue. The problem resolved itself overnight but my excursion went up by $40 during that time. Very frustrating.
  4. And above all, turns out browsers and search engines didn’t have anything to do with it
  5. Just curious...did the excursion you were looking at increase in price? One that I was watching went up by $40 yesterday from the day before, and on fb some people are complaining that their excursions went up during the time they were unable to pay. Kinda wondering if the credit card "pause" and rising excursion costs are related...?
  6. Looks like Princess got the message. It worked this morning and I was able to pay for my bottled water myself in the personalizer.
  7. I’ve tried Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. Judging from other’s comments, I think the problem might just be with Princess.
  8. Yes, that would purchase the water but would let them off the hook by not solving the actual issue. That’s why I escalated it…to make them figure it out. My question isn’t how to pay for the water, I know I can call in and do that. It’s if others have had or are having credit card problems on the personalizer and if you were able to resolve them.
  9. I'm using an iphone with safari and have tried Google, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo as my browsers. They all do the same thing. I also logged into my husband's app and tried to pay through it. I haven't tried using PayPal instead of a credit card mainly because I want to get the credit card glitch fixed. Our cruise isn't until July so I can be patient.
  10. Thanks. We've tried logged into my account with my cc number and logged into my husband's account with his cc number. Nada. We haven't tried with him logged into the app, but the app takes you back to the personalizer for the bottled water so I don't think that will work either.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. Like I said, we've tried four different cards...three credit and one debit. I've tried on the app and on my desktop and also on princess.com from my phone. None work.
  12. I'm trying to pay for a bottled water package on my cruise personalizer with a credit card. I enter all the information and when I hit submit payment, the credit card number highlights in blue and nothing else happens. The payment does not submit. I tried on the app as well, and it highlights the cc number and gives a message "fill out this field." It doesn't seem to recognize that I have filled out the field. My husband and I have tried it with four different cards and it doesn't work. And yes, I've checked and double checked the information. I've tried live chat and calling Princess but haven't gotten anywhere although they finally promised to escalate it. Has anyone else had this problem and were you able to fix it?
  13. On our last couple of cruises, Princess just gave disembarkation tags without asking any type of flight times or preference. If what they arbitrarily give doesn't work for you, you can swap them at the front desk. I'm not sure when it changed, but it's different from how they used to do it when they gave you a form asking what you wanted/what time your flight is and provided tags based on that. We'll be on a b2b and both flights are "attached" to the first cruise so I don't think our flight plans will raise any red flags on the second cruise. I'm not sure if I'll purchase the transfer pre-cruise or not, depends on if we'll have obc to use up.
  14. If I can ask you another question about the transfer schedule...were there more transfers that include terminal 5? Turns out that the flight I want is sold by American but is actually British Airways and leaves from T5. And do you remember what time you were scheduled to dock? We're due in at 7am so I don't know if the transfers will start as early as 7:10. Thanks!
  15. Thank you so much for posting this - so incredibly helpful! We'll go ahead with the 1:40 flight. Thanks again.
  16. I just happened to look at one of my upcoming cruises today and the Princess transfer to LHR is $64 pp. Does anyone know when the transfers start operating and when they arrive at the airport? Princess says 2pm for the earliest flight and I’m wanting to book a flight at 1:40. I’m thinking 20 minutes earlier should be ok.
  17. We were on the Sapphire Jan 4-20 S. America and Antarctica and our steward brought us a kettle. I don’t know how many they have on board but we requested it right after boarding and he brought it no problem.
  18. We'll be disembarking the Regal Princess in Southampton on August 7 and flying from LHR the same day. Princess EZ-Air offers flights leaving at 2pm or later, but I'm wondering if 1:40 would work? If we line up a car service, is that enough time to get from the port to the airport with the recommended three-hour cushion? The ship is scheduled to arrive at 7am.
  19. When you have a quick second, can you report back if the Regal has Lavazza coffee makers in the buffet? When we were on the Royal in November they didn’t, but I’m hoping that the Regal has made the switch by now.
  20. How long did it take for you to be reimbursed? I sent in a claim in December and haven’t received anything yet.
  21. Not in our experience on the Sapphire recently. We dined at 5:30 every night and it was very slow several evenings. We barely made it to the 7:30 shows. Some dinners moved along and we were done by 6:45 or so. But others dragged between courses and it took almost two hours. We had a table for two, not sharing. And we generally order the same number of courses every night, so it wasn’t that either.
  22. We just got off the Sapphire and the Lavazza coffee was terrific. However, we disembarked the Royal in November and it had not upgraded to Lavazza yet. Still served the undrinkable brown swill in the buffet. Before boarding they had assured us that all ships had made the switch to Lavazza, but for the Royal at least that was not true.
  23. We had scenic cruising of Cape Horn on the January 4 cruise. We couldn’t get super close (can’t remember how many miles) because we didn’t have a Chilean pilot on board yet but we didn’t skip it. We also sailed to A23a on our cruise so it wasn’t a trade off.
  24. Glad my advice helped someone. With this wonky app, any port in a storm!
