  2. Yes, there is a fee for using a credit card for your onboard account. When we were on in November, it was 1.1%.
  3. We just returned from 50+ days on the Royal in Aus and NZ and we were charged daily gratuities. If you paid the cruise fare in USD and not AUD then gratuities are not included in the fare and they will be charged to your daily onboard account. Provided of course that you don’t have plus or premium.
  4. Exactly the same with us! Not so rural but outskirts of city, and have had our carrier for many years, and his father had the route before him! We tip him with a local grocery store gift card at xmas and he seems to appreciate it. 🙂
  5. We recently sailed 50+ days on the Royal and the mail hold was a little tricky since the USPS will only allow you to put a hold for 30 days. They want you to put in a change of address if it's longer than 30 days. I asked my mailman if there was a way around it and he gave us a form to complete. Told us to fill it out with the dates of our travel and mark that we would pick up the mail when we returned (instead of him delivering it) and leave the form in the mailbox for him. He said it was out of the ordinary, but he would make sure it got held, and he was true to his word. Other than that, everything else is covered above. The main thing is having all your bills on autopay and put in payments ahead on the ones that don't send ebills.
  6. The pvp phone number is (800)901-1172. You can call in and get one, or get a new one, assigned to you. We've used our pvp for years now and especially since covid and the call center outsourcing, she is invaluable.
  7. So did they correct your member number on the app db so the issue no longer happens with each update? And did you reach the app team by phone? I'd love to get this corrected once and for all.
  8. Actually, for me this problem has nothing to do with my Princess member number. My captain's circle status was correct on the medallion app until I downloaded an update, then it switched from black to blue. I've had it corrected to black a couple of times, but it's currently blue again due to an update a month or so ago. It seems to bounce back to blue whenever there's an app update. I've emailed a couple of times to fix it again but no one has gotten back to me yet. I'm boarding in a couple of weeks and will just purchase wifi once I get on board, so I'm not all that worried about it right now. I'm hopeful that the new app won't have this problem.
  9. Interesting… I see the footnote you’re referring to regarding the wifi. But this is how it shows up on the app. The discount is there pre cruise.
  10. Not if you're platinum or elite. The 50% discount should be reflected at the time of purchase as long as the app has your status level correct.

  12. If you're platinum or elite you should automatically get the discount in the app. It should clearly show the 50% discount. You don't have to pay full price and wait for a credit on the ship. If the app doesn't show the discount, it's because the app does not reflect your correct captain's circle level. I'm familiar with this because the app switches me from black to blue for some reason every time there's an update. I have to contact askoceanmedallion@carnival.com to get them to fix it. As far as I can tell, the only way to see your level in the app is by the color of the sea witch logo next to your profile photo.
  13. I believe the email to submit to Stockperks via email is hello@stockperks.com. However, the option to upload your statement on the app works well. You select the Alinea option and go from there.
  14. Got it, thanks. It's taking a lot longer to verify for us, but this is Thanksgiving week so maybe that's slowing things down. I did see on the acknowledgement email they sent that it would take up to two business days to verify the stock ownership. I don't remember which day I uploaded it so I'll give it until Tuesday and then email it over. Thanks for your insight.
  15. Are you saying that it took about 3 hours from when you uploaded your statement on Stockperks to when you got notification that it was verified? I did mine earlier this week and it still says it is being processed. We're sailing on Jan. 4 so time is getting short. From what I can tell you can't go back in and connect to the brokerage account once you upload a statement but it hasn't been verified yet. I wonder if I should fax it to them?
  16. Well, never mind, I guess. We added our address again using the same address but with my husband's name and it took this time. I guess it just didn't want to recognize our address that was already in there. Such a fun app!
  17. On the current app, is anyone having difficulties completing their order for their actual medallion? We just booked a cruise fairly last-minute (sails 1/4/24) and I get an error message saying there seems to be a problem with the service, try again later. I'm trying to have them shipped to my home in the US. I also tried the web version in the personalizer and had the same result.
  18. Can you please explain the exact settings you use to connect your kindle fire to the ship’s WiFi? ie, airplane mode on etc. I’m currently on the Royal and can’t seem to connect my kindle fire. Thanks
  19. You can contact Princess IT and they can fix your app so it correctly reflects your platinum/elite status. Then you will be able to pre purchase it with the 50% discount if you choose.

  23. Just bought a couple of fcd’s and was surprised to see that they’ll be refunded if not used in one year. Used to be two years. When did that change?
