  1. Sorry, I have instructions on how to use my Zanussi oven, and the heat source for grilling definitely comes from above. I believe them. And I think that is the universal UK usage.
  2. No, when I use the grill in my stove it heats from above. But perhaps in the US?
  3. I always assumed broiled was American for grilled, but now I see broiled on the menu, grilled at a supplement. What is broiled exactly?
  4. I doubt they can either. 🙂 Did you have a nice time?
  5. I don’t think the cruets actually quite match. The pepper seems more indented than the salt, but maybe they are meant to be like that so you can tell them apart without looking.
  6. They are much stricter than at Southampton. They usually let people wait inside there, unless the terminal is overcrowded.
  7. Someone who has put their luggage down? He’ll have to take it off for security anyway.
  8. Good man. 🙂 Wouldn’t that man with the huge rucksack be more comfortable if he took it off?
  9. Fun. I hope the terminal will deploy staff to manage the situation. Will there be lunch, albeit without table cloths, when you board? I await your cruet report with interest.
  10. Do you think there will be a orderly queue, when they do open the doors, or a mass stampede?
  11. Precisely. So I’m not really sure the flagging of the ships is relevant.
  12. Carnival employs quite a number of people in Southampton. Were they not eligible for the furlough scheme. Did BA get money? They are Spanish owned.
  13. Unscathed by the wine, ignored by us, for we never use them. 🙂 Hope you have a smooth transfer and boarding.
  14. I think you’ll find they do. It is specifically mentioned on the buffet menu, and I think one of the little signs on the MDR menu means low sugar.
  15. Interestingly, only a glass or so came out, which is a lot, but much better than a bottle’s worth. It only went on the table, none on us, none on the floor, none on our neighbours. And I got my comeuppance, for the next evening I came down with Covid!
  16. I think that is fair enough. I would have left the autograft on, but certainly not given extra, which I often do, when the waiters in QG have been lovely, as when I knocked over a nearly full bottle of red wine…
  17. I think it is a matter of age. When I was in my twenties, I was always hungry, and could eat and eat without putting on weight. Now, I’m still often hungry, but feel sated much sooner. Needless to say, I have never counted calories or even weighed myself. I do the skirt test. If I can do up the zip, it is good.
