  1. I’m not sure an industrial dry dock is any more disagreeable than the container ports the ships sometimes dock in. As I have said, I should find it fascinating. Surely you should be pleased they are, we hope, fixing the vibration problem so your journey back is less tiresome?
  2. A small amount of OBC would have been nice. It would also have been nice to tell people before they left, as does often happen with itinerary changes. But why should they give people the option of cancelling because of one change of port. It would be crazy. Or perhaps they could have charged extra to all those who preferred Cadiz. 😀
  3. Well, we will hope it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I can see it is very disappointing to miss the beautiful city of Lisbon if you haven’t been there, but Cadiz is splendid too. Unless, it was very noisy overnight, I really can’t see that there is anything much to moan about, unless one is looking for reasons to be miserable. As you will see from other posts, I am frequently critical of Cunard, but can’t see a reason to be here.
  4. Your comments are so helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you.
  5. At present they may be busy keeping their fingers crossed that they won’t have to delay QV’s cruise because of the pod problems. As are we all, I imagine.
  6. I imagine it will be rather noisy tonight for those whose cabins are at the back.
  7. Surely it won’t be dark all day tomorrow? Rotten to miss Lisbon though, I quite see.
  8. All true, but two of the worst things about it are its strange shape and lack of interesting view, and there is nothing much they can do about those. New decor would be nice though
  9. I must say I think I would want to remain on board and watch what was going on.
  10. A long walk in the early hours?
  11. As someone has pointed out, it is not even two days, let alone three. Why not enjoy the wonderful city of Cadiz? Unless you’ve never been to Lisbon, you are not losing really, are you, and instead having a rare experience, which many would find fascinating?
  12. Good heavens, I bet the engineers enjoyed that day. Their hair must have turned white. 😀
  13. Perhaps they’ll have a whip round among the passengers.
  14. My goodness, they could halve sold the cruise for twice the price, if they’d known it was going to happen. Many would love to be aboard.
  15. Seasickness pills, just in case. And a spare pair of glasses.

    Food

I believe they are very good at catering for allergies. If they know about it, they will probably show you the menu the day before, so they can provide alternatives.
  17. We enjoyed Coriander very much, also La Piazza, the Italian one. But in both cases, we shared a starter, eg a huge plate of antipasti, and a desert, and still could barely finish.

    Food

The foods I quoted were merely examples. But we clearly have a completely different concept of an enjoyable meal out. I don’t want it to be like home. And I hate having to carry stuff.

Gosh, this sounds like hard work, then you have to find a table and carry it there - or do they do that for you now? - and then try and grab a passing wine waiter. Meanwhile your splendid premium window table in the QG is being wasted. I really can’t see the attraction.

But you sit in the restaurant, and can just have soup and a roll, or whatever the pasta is, and be out in twenty minutes.

But why would you lunch in the buffet?
  22. No, you’re right. I can see the difference.
