  1. As you know, I would never wish to be unkind, but if we are talking about Cunard’s admin. and IT, it is hard to imagine anything happening right away.
  2. I’m not sure I would have them done simultaneously, just because if you had an infection, you wouldn’t want it in both. I didn’t have a single black eye or even bloodshot ones. Incidentally, it is an indication of the varying demographics that nobody else has yet mentioned their cataract ops. If you had said this in the Cunard board, almost the entire membership would have described their experience.
  3. I think that is the room I would least want them to change. They could put a couple of models in, I suppose.
  4. Remember how QE2 was initially marketed. And how quickly they changed things. Over here, in the newspapers I read, where the marketing is mainly though travel agents, she seems to be just another Cunarder, and you have to look quite closely at the detail to see which ship is doing which voyage. I wouldn’t want to go on any form of transport that would be my grandmother’s.
  5. They can do that incrementally without her having to go in for a refit.
  6. 😀😀😀Not that you are getting overly excited or depressed or anything? Incidentally, QA didn’t seem any more a ‘fun ship’ than the others, just slightly differently decorated, with one horrible room, and several rooms more gorgeous than on the others.
  7. Of what? For me, being on a Cunard ship is a dream that does come true.
  8. Isn’t she the one who sends you to sleep and gives you happy dreams that don’t come true?
  9. Your imagination is dangerously accurate. I’m still doubtful about dancing being too enjoyable though, so I think it should be restricted to an hour a day.
  10. British Queen somehow sounds rather like the sort of names local paddle steamers that gave pleasure trips along the coast used to have, although it isn’t actually one. Now Solent Queen probably is an actual name, but would do quite nicely.
  11. That must have surprised the people on the bridge of the Carmania when they spotted her. According to my book on ship sinkings, that was the only former passenger ship sunk by another former passenger ship.
  12. I fear that may be too late. 😀
  13. It depends a bit what wine.
  14. In that case, ignore all I’ve said. No meals amounting to more than 800 calories, one small glass of wine a day if you absolutely must, no dancing, as that is obviously far too frivolous, and at least two hours a day on Zoom to people you dislike. 😀😀
  15. I’d certainly love the chance to go on QE from Southampton again, much as I like QA. Do you think QA would be more popular over the other side?
  16. Has anyone found a ship’s bell on QA?
  17. But we must not despise the very young. On the cliff top here, there is a memorial to a Red Arrow pilot who crashed in a display. It is universally liked and appreciated. It was designed by two children, one 9, one 10, in a competition for primary school pupils. Perhaps Cunard could have one.
  18. What does your TA say about all this? Are they offering huge compensation? And why did they not do all this digging?
  19. I had a friend who won a holiday in Yugoslavia with Adria Airlines. Smoking was left of the aisle, non-smoking right. Other than that, they had a nice time.
  20. Mind you, you can see why the poor lady looks so miserable, having been perpetually pregnant and had 15 children, none of whom survived childhood.
  21. How splendid that there is a beer called Ghost Ship, and that Cunard are brave enough to serve it.
  22. I understand that, though it is a shame she and her team don’t get the renown. But all credit to them. One thing you may be able to answer is how the initial contact came about, after your TA’s somewhat wishy washy efforts.
  23. I imagine that is approbation rather than sarcasm.
  24. You are on holiday. And for a fortnight, not six weeks. So there is no ‘way more than you should concept’.
