  1. Very pleased for you. Now the wrong has been righted, you need a) paperwork b) massive compensation (from your TA?) c) the results of a detailed investigation into how it happened in the first place.
  2. I think that MDR is absolutely stunningly gorgeous, though I might mention another room that is not…But that dining room is one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever seen, so light and ethereal.
  3. Who remembers when people used to smoke in the restaurants? There were smoking areas, I think, but, nonetheless, it drifted, as it does, and people rarely escaped without themselves and their clothes smelling of smoke.
  4. Having studied these as an devotee, I think these must actually be rather difficult to hang on to, because of their bulbous shape, and smooth material. But they certainly match.
  5. No, as implied, in the lounge.
  6. However, the cream did definitely look clotted.
  7. The QE2 QR was completely different. It was one story with no balcony, and a very weird ceiling. Did they mean the Double Up Lounge?
  8. Right, I’m caught up now, you may go ahead and enjoy yourself. Hope your finger is OK. Is this a another RC ship with little connection to the sea?
  9. I didn’t get an invite, you meanie. But I’m here now, and will start at the beginning.
  10. 2. I don’t think bumping is likely to be an issue. 3. Tea in the Queens Room usually has some form of music, a string trio perhaps? 5. There is an excellent, good value, laundry service. Standard service takes two days. If you pay a 50% premium, it comes back the next day.
  11. Of course they are. At least it means they are made by people who have plenty of practice.
  12. In all cases, if you want to use the boats for sightseeing, check the tides. A very low tide really does make a difference to how well you can see.
  13. I can vouch for all of that. She can even drink without spilling.😀
  14. I thought a recent poster said that the piano had reappeared, which could be a good sign.
  15. My problem is not usually with flaming aromas, but with eggs. I am not allergic, but intensely dislike the taste, smell, and sight of them. To avoid offending our neighbours on our last cruise, I had to explain that the reason I had turned my head away was not that I had formed a sudden dislike to them, but because I could bear neither sight nor smell of the fried eggs that one of them had for lunch. This was not so easy to do while looking in the opposite direction.
  16. And it must have been in somebody’s name, or perhaps they just used C. Dior or the like.
  17. A carefully placed trolley can be a major mitigation.
  18. I usually enjoy the aromas, particularly the orange duck. However, if I am having it myself, I would like it to be flamed so I get the benefit of the aroma. A few trips ago, a couple behind us had a fresh made pasta dish at lunch with a lot of onions or garlic in, I forget which. They made a point of having the trolley placed so no fumes went over them. This meant they went over the people at the table next to us, one of whom was highly sensitive to whatever it was, to the extent he had to leave the restaurant with streaming eyes. That did seem very selfish of the owners of the dish, though not dissimilar to some of their other behaviour.
  19. I don’t think that cream is anything like the colour of butter, butter is yellow, that isn’t even yellowish, it is, er, cream coloured, or perhaps a very pale lemon yellow.
  20. Bournemouth to Heathrow is surprisingly straightforward, but Gatwick is a nightmare. Poole to Cherbourg overnight is painless. And Bournemouth Airport is expending…again. Not brilliant in the gourmet stakes though.
  21. That would be OK, if both cabins meant dining in the same restaurant.
  22. And I suspect your lives may not have always been so atraightforward. 😀 Mind you, it is quite nice in South Dorset as well. And I think there may be a fair amount of dancing here.
