  1. It’s not the most gripping of places, but we have done a couple of enjoyable half day wine tours from the ship.
  2. Oh dear me, that is a bit traumatic. Still, at least it has made you realise the need for a bookshop. 😀Let us hope the Purser’s Office cures it.
  3. I should just stick to pockets. Nobody is going to notice if they sag slightly really, are they? Why would they care?
  4. Well, I suppose that is practicality in a different way. I never buy expensive clothes, or, really, these days, clothes at all, if I can avoid it. 😀
  5. I don’t usually put things in my pockets, because I have a handbag, but it would be beyond me to favour looks over practicality. Why does it matter?
  6. And I hope considerable compensation. So pleased you are at least going.
  7. Unless things are wildly different in Canada, Grills lunch is usually 1.00-2.30, so you are in no danger of missing it. 12.45 seems a reasonable time for Grills. We are usually given 12.30, but that is at Southampton.
  8. But were the others all identical, which would apparently be a bad thing? 😀 If I were there, I might have asked for a little more cream.
  9. I should have thought the logistics of carrying dry ingredients rather than the complications of storing frozen stuff on board was one of several reasons why making stuff on board was the more attractive option.
  10. We had tea a couple of times on QA in May. The scones had every appearance of being freshly made, and I think the cream was clotted. Scones do tend to be quite dry rather than moist like fruit cake, and I think clotted cream is a thick yellow paste. What exactly were you expecting?
  11. My approach would be not to mind people walking through, just so long as they don’t encroach on the facilities such as they are.
  12. Just ask. Chicken, salmon, etc are available. Or ask for a menu dish without the sauce if that is what you would like.
  13. It also depends on every passenger having their keycard with them. If we leave our cabin to go somewhere together, we often don’t take two cards.
  14. Look at the figures. What proportion of rapes/sexual assaults are against men? A few, but not many.
  15. And it certainly was modern.
  16. This is all true, but I think you underplay the level of fear women have to face daily simply through being female.
  17. I like the wonderful picture underneath your name.
  18. That will be good. But I think at present, at the very least, it is an essential second space for day time enrichment activities on Trans-Atlantics.
  19. He had a port hole! He must have been a man of great importance.
  20. The fastest Eurostars take 2 hours 15 mins from London to Paris. That doesn’t amount to anywhere near eight hours.
