  1. I had both my eyes done a couple of years ago. It is very straightforward, has a massive success rate, takes only ten minutes, though there is quite a lot of hanging around beforehand waiting for the drops to work, and you are home in time for lunch. But the thought of it is very scary. The second one is much less so.😀
  2. Unless you’re a very good actor, you seem a pretty decent son to me.
  3. Poor her. It will be nice for her to have you closer to hand. Is it cataracts or something more complicated?
  4. Boarding, not check in? 1.30 should be fine either way, assuming it is CPS.
  5. Is it a one-off or will it be a daily occurrence. The former I imagine.
  6. Always better value to buy by the bottle. We sometimes have three on the go, and they look after it for you. If you are on fixed dining, it will be waiting for you. It might take a bit longer on open.
  7. You are not. I do very much like (most of) QA, though.
  8. And I think the scones were already halved, creamed, and jammed.
  9. You are totally forgiven. And I have on occasion had tea with lemon in something approximating to a glass - just not at tea on Cunard.😀
  10. I too rather suspected that might be the case, and I am not a betting woman.
  11. Is that all? Perhaps there was a huge raid by bibliophile passengers on embarkation yesterday, and that is just the remnants. Otherwise you could more or less read through that lot on a month’s cruise.
  12. Captain Hashmi once said that, because of his intermittent disappearances and reappearances, his fellow parents at his children’s school probably thought he was a career criminal serving frequent short prison terms. It’s hard to see how it is a security rather than privacy matter, however.
  13. But yesterday’s experience has possibly alerted you to the need to pace yourself a little, which may also help reduce weight gain. And furthermore, you know you don’t need to bother with any more pizza after yesterday’s failure.
  14. I greatly value the libraries on Cunard ships, but one of my minor nightmares is having to return a book before finishing it. 😀Imagine if I were reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for the first time.
  15. Ooooops. Sorry, it was just that there were several suggestions of possibly helpful people at Carnival/Cunard earlier on.
  16. In a word, yes. You may have noticed contact details of people at Cunard who may be able to help with things are often posted here. Should they not be? It would make this board much less useful.
  17. Well, it is certainly not one of those.
  18. I assume you are not serious that they really served tea in a glass on a past voyage. That really is bizarre. And those things may not be china but they are teapots.
  19. One thing you might do, when you’ve finally got your log in details and it is definitely sorted, is publish the name of the helpful Cunard employee who sorted this. They deserve glory, and it might be helpful to others. I assume this would be OK with CC as Cunard obviously do not count as a travel agent. 😀
  20. Dancing wearing headsets doesn’t sound very agreeable. So, the fun of this bizarre sounding activity is largely for the spectators? I think I might prefer watching ballroom dancing, in the whole.
  21. Never having set foot in a disco of any sort in my life, except I once passed through an empty G32 in the morning, while walking round the ship (hate loud music, hate pop music, can’t dance), I would be quite glad if you can explain the point of this. 😀
