  1. insurance doesn’t usually cover acts of war or their effects.
  2. That suggests a very optimistic view of the chances of the situation improving.
  3. On the other hand, there would have been even more passengers, even more upset, had they pressed on through the Red Sea. And I am rather inclined to think that, if I were the malevolent owner of a missile, QM2 is the ship I’d be keenest to hit, because of its fame, recognisability, and publicity value.
  4. Out of interest for comparison, how many nights do you have to do to be elite, and what are the other grades?
  5. No, for about the first week out of Southampton (or presumably other resupply ports), it is fresh.
  6. The tomatoes don’t look remotely ripe. I assume the messiness is the result of your distinctive plating skills.
  7. I think they’ve got wise to us, for we haven’t been given any on the last two cruises. We’ve had our champagne though so that’s OK.
  8. You may be the only past passenger who is happy to admit they drank two bottles of the stuff and survived. 😀
  9. I don’t think that is very good, really.
  10. It used to say somewhere on the FAQ that the fresh milk usually lasted about a week - just like in my fridge.
  11. Every day on Cunard is a special occasion, so bring as much as you want.
  12. Surely room service afternoon tea must come with actual tea, even though it’s not mentioned?
  13. Surely it is also for the benefit of all the passengers booked on subsequent cruises. Or don’t they count?
  14. Did you encounter the much derided Pol Acker when you were on QE?
  15. Yes, it is lovely to walk beside. But better still when it’s warm enough to swim in.
  16. I should avoid Bournemouth then. Our main selling point is ‘seven miles of golden sand’. I fear it would be wasted on you. On the other hand, by Florida standards, it isn’t too hot.
  17. Where does it mention chocolate or coffee come to that? Sorry, I’m sure I’m being dim.
  18. Obviously it is possible, but, allowing for getting there from Soton, you might only have three or four ports in fourteen days, which looks unattractive in brochures.
  19. Ah, those sticks. I have spattered several fellow passengers sitting diagonally opposite in the days when SWT used them. Now, alas, they no longer have trolleys.
  20. A call at Casablanca would have been quite nice.
  21. Geography precludes it, but the ideal Med. cruise would have a sea day after every port day.
