Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'll salute the Dewey Decimal System that I learned as a kid. Animal Rights are so important; just on our local news were some abandoned, malnourished puppies that it's thought were bred to sell for Christmas and abandoned in a box on the street when they became ill. They're now being cared for, for eventual adoption. I like a cold lager on a hot summer day. I like the quote. Yes to the meal and wine, pass on the drink. I haven't been to La Paz. 2 good days in history. It's cloudy, with off and on rain showers, some quite hard. I opened my rollator that came yesterday and checked it out. I slept about the same, 4 hours. Lots of pain when I get out of bed. No real plans today. My football team isn't playing, but I'll still watch some other teams. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I haven't sent Christmas Cards in years, just a few Christmas greetings by email or WhatsApp. Lost and Found is important when you lose something. Genocide prevention should be every day. Not sure I understand the quote. Yes to the meal and wine, pass on the drink. I have been to Portugal, but not Madeira. 2 good days in history, particularly the computer demo. It's warm (59F) but cloudy. I think there was a rain shower earlier. I had to do computer battle again. The same issue of non-responsiveness occurred this morning. So I rolled back the update again (that I had added back once I got up and running yesterday) and now it works. I'm leaving that update off and will see what happens. I got better sleep last night, perhaps a combo of ibuprofen and Benadryl - about 4 hours. No specific plans today other than again trying to declutter the dining room. Success! Might not be due to me, but ... I realized at BB when they hooked up my PC they only plugged it in, but it was online. At home I use a cable from the modem, thinking it's more stable, but there is WiFi. So I unplugged everything including 2 usb printers, a usb hub, and the ethernet. Restarted, and voila, I was back in business! BFF thinks it was a Fios issue, as he did none of that, and his PC now works; his friends with Comcast had no issue. Anyway, I so appreciate my 27" screen with these old eyes. @sailingdutchy Great photos. Time for dinner, and a glass of wine (medicinal purposes 😉).

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like crossword solving. Blue collar workers work hard. A brownie would be nice. Funny quote. Pass on the meal (fish), drink and the wine. I may have been to Rhodes, but can’t get into my PC to check. it’s nice out, low 50’s and sunny. It’s not been a good day for me. The PC worked a few hours and then back to the same problem. I unplugged it overnight, but no help. I rolled back one update, still nothing. And strangely BFF has the same issue. And today my pain level is off the chart. I knew I was in trouble during the night, when sitting up in bed didn’t help. I could barely walk to the car to go to PT. I wanted to take a copy of my imaging results. I couldn’t do much there, mainly heat, then stretching and ice. I’m hoping sitting a bit will ease the pain, and I just took ibuprofen . Remembering Pearl Harbor Day; it was very moving visiting the Arizona. Happy Hanukkah to those who are celebrating it. My PC is back! I had tried restarting (manual as the start menu didn't work). Couldn't boot into safe mode. Even unplugged it at BFF's suggestion, but only for about 15 minutes. I unplugged it this AM, cleaned the desk of dust, and took it to BB this afternoon. They plugged it in, and it worked right away! Go figure. Same thing happened to BFF about 2 months ago. At least it didn't cost anything, and next time I'll unplug for several hours. It's cloudy here and in the 40's. I haven't done anything all day other than mess with this. I think a glass of wine is in order this evening. I did schedule a day for donation pickup, only to make me do some sorting of clothes, as my leg allows. Less than 2 hours of sleep last night again. It's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow; I may try to get the last leaves taken care of, although I have PT too. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to your DSIL! Good morning. I haven’t read all the posts. My dark cloud overhead is still there. Now my PC is not working. There was a Windows update Tuesday. The computer was fine until last night. I noticed pages wouldn’t load and did a restart. Now the desktop loads, but nothing works. I can’t open documents or browsers or anything. I will be visiting the Geek Squad this afternoon. Sigh.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'm not a gazpacho fan. Miners have been important, especially here in W.PA where coal mining still goes on. I haven't seen Mitten trees, but people put mittens/gloves on fences with tags saying they are free, for those who are in need of a way to keep warm. Deep quote. I like chicken tortilla soup from a local restaurant here, but haven't made it myself. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Russell, Bay of Islands. 2 important days in history. It's cloudy and 30's here, with occasional snow showers (not sticking). I had someone come by this AM to look at the LR floor. I won't know anything for a week or so. Last night around 11PM I got notified of a new test result. The MRI! It's a convoluted report. First it says there was some motion which affected the test. I held as still as possible, despite terrible pain. Maybe my breathing was too deep, as I tried to calm myself. There's lots of degenerative disease, with compression of L4 on the right. Surprisingly there are several new synovial cysts, as well as the known facet disease. So which is the culprit I don't know. I guess I'll find out when I see the Neurosurgeon. Meanwhile, another night with only about 2.5 hours of sleep. @Cat in my lap Happy Birthday! @StLouisCruisers Congrats to FC Dallas on their win and to Ren for his 2 assists. @kazu I'm glad Ivan's injection is done for the month. I hope physio isn't too painful today. Jake's birthday was in November. @aliaschief Good news that your back is feeling better. @cruising sister That's good that you got vacation override for most of your meds. @Cruzin Terri Maybe the blood work that the rheumatologist orders for the PMR will shed some light on the cause of your fatigue. Are you still on Prednisone? Sometimes decreasing the dose too fast can cause fatigue. I hope the Neurologist can help DH. @smitty34877 Hopefully only 1-2 days of that noise! @ottahand7 Sorry to hear that John has shingles, but getting on an antiviral med should significantly lessen the course. I hope it's not too painful. @dfish Drain cleanout duty, ugh. Wow about River's Mother, but it sounds like she'll be with people who are much more caring than her Mother. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Port Louis. 3 interesting days in history. It's cloudy and cool here, with occasional snow flurries. A bit more snow tonight. Same lack of sleep last night, although I got an hour nap yesterday afternoon. I had a hair appointment today. I debated about driving to it (it's around the corner) or just crossing the alley and going in their back door. I did the latter, and my stylist was just pulling in. I have PT a little later. Still no word on the MRI results yet. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. @seagarsmoker I hope you make it to the second round of interviews. @marshhawk I hope all goes well for DH's appointment. Sorry he's having a rough time after the tests. No prescription in the top part. I too hate taking glasses off and on and just wanted to wear them. After the 2nd cataract, they put a prescription up top, but since my eyes are so different from each other, I couldn't tolerate it and went back to nothing for distance. @HAL Sailer I hope things are ok with you two. @dfish When I started at PT it was for deconditioning. I was having trouble going up the stairs. After I'd been there about a month, the leg pain started, and at first I thought maybe I pulled a muscle. The pain has continued, along with numbness and tingling. At this point it's too painful to do much when I go. Mainly stretching, and at the end, moist heat and TENS stimulation. That quilt top is lovely!

Good afternoon. I tried to nap because I was nodding at the computer, but my leg wasn't happy in the recliner despite trying several positions. Maybe I'll try again later. @dfish I'm glad you got a date for your surgery. @sailingdutchy @Vict0riann Very nice photos. @kochleffel Quite the ordeal getting your AIO hooked up. @smitty34877 Thanks for your input. No need to keep silent with your recommendations, as I know you have expertise. In fact I'm surprised my PT folks didn't say something. They're not seeing me in a real world situation, but I did comment to them on how although I don't feel badly at the end of my time there, by the time I make my way to my car right outside their door, I'm ready to scream with pain. @superoma Thanks for the bridge photos. And us hockey fans know why it'll be the Gordie Howe Int'l 😉. @Nickelpenny Wow on the gingerbread houses. My SA/Antarctica cruise was over Christmas and we had a display on the Zaandam, but not that large. @rafinmd I'm sure it will take time to gain your strength. The soup would be ok as long as coconut milk, not any shredded coconut (texture issue). Pass on the drink and wine. I have been to Oranjestad on my 2019 Panama Canal cruise from LA to NYC. 3 good days in history. It's cloudy again today, with a few showers. Yesterday there was lightning, thunder, hail and torrential rain; odd for December. But temps will drop and snow showers are forecast the next few days. Then 50's by the weekend. Another poor night of sleep, about 2.5 hours. I was also cold and I think all the blowing of air on the first floor affected the thermostat. I managed to get up to the third floor this AM and get the tree skirt and stockings out. That's the extent of my interior decorating. The mitigation guy came a bit ago and took everything. There's still cupping of the floor. He felt it would have to be decided if there's enough wood to sand, or if new flooring would be needed. I'll call the field rep when I'm finished here, so he can come out to assess things. I need to unearth my DR table. I really can't walk any distance without pain. The cane helps steady me, but I don't think is enough. I have several medical appointments next week. So I ordered a rollator. I thought with its seat it would be better than a walker. Oy on all this equipment I'm getting (I got a shower chair too). @seagarsmoker Fingers crossed that the interview goes well and leads to a job offer! @grapau27 I'm glad to hear that the cleanup is done and that they did a good job.
