My sentiments as well. Living alone, the Daily was/is a pleasant place to visit and meet others, expand my horizons, and just enjoy community. Not all is shared here and we don't know what others may be going through in silence, so we should treat each other gently and with kindness.

It was foggy and rainy this morning, now partly sunny, but more storms this evening. It's been a very rainy spring. My county has now been elevated to "high transmission" level for Covid. So most schools are resuming mask wearing. I've continued to wear mine regardless. We're all tired of this and I know many will still congregate for the holiday, hopefully safely. So sad to hear that the husband of one of the deceased Uvalde teachers also died suddenly, 2 days after his wife, leaving their 4 children without parents. @kochleffel Cute elephants. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily. A salute to Sally Ride. I liked reading the Dracula book, but only could take the old B&W movies (newer ones scared me, lol). I know a few true redheads. Great quote. The meal sounds good. Pass on the drink and wine (band-aid and latex?). I've been to China (river cruise), but not Dalian. It's partly sunny now, but storms and damaging winds later! Quite the day yesterday. Soon after I posted, my left eye got red and exquisitely light sensitive. So sunglasses went on indoors, and hourly drops. It's ok now. Then I got a letter that my insurance would cover the non-formulary medication, Kevzara, but I had no idea about my cost. Then a call from the pharmaceutical company that I'd been accepted to their assistance program, and they are shipping the medication today with arrival tomorrow! I'll start it next week after some bloodwork on Tuesday. My UK friend who had surgery texted me from the CCU (equivalent to our ICU) yesterday afternoon to say she was out of surgery. @StLouisCruisers Bon Voyage! I'll look for you on your sail-away. Sorry about the itinerary change. @kb4683 Bon Voyage! @grapau27 I hope the steroids and therapy works. I'm overdue for another shot as my last one was 2019. Hyaluronic acid injections have been mentioned, although the steroids worked well in the past. Funny, sleeping on my back makes my knee more painful, so I sleep on my side with a small travel pillow between my knees (the knee pillow I bought was too hard and hurt!). @kazu Ugh on that timeslot; most companies do better than that nowadays. @smitty34877 I hope Tana has some better days to come. @cat shepard Congrats to your nephew, especially his overcoming obstacles. @Heartgrove I hope rehab can help your brother; good news on no heart attack. @marshhawk Stay safe during the bad weather! @ger_77 So nice that your birth family is welcoming. I had to look up towel day; haven't read or watched The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. As much as I love Jane Austen, I disagree with the quote. I like the meal since it's lower carb. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Oslo. Thanks for any pictures. It's partly sunny here today and to go up to 70. I'm waiting to hear that my friend in the UK is out of surgery. I've sent off a message to Rheumatology. I can barely get out of bed in the morning due to pain in the left high hip area and thigh. The muscles are all tender to the touch. Once I move for a bit it improves, until I need to do stairs. @kazu I usually don't plant until Memorial Day for risk of frost, but put my tomato plants in this past weekend. Hoping the bank issue is solved quickly and your booster shot goes well. @marshhawk Wow, lots going on with your work. @mamaofami Bummer on all the technology issues. I just turned on the TV and was shocked by the news. Those poor babies and the teacher. My heart breaks. Obviously something needs to change, as this is happening all too frequently. Thanks for the good thoughts for my friend. I found out a friend in the UK will be having major abdominal surgery due to a cancer recurrence; she usually visits here yearly, but hasn't been since 2019. @marshhawk I was glad to read you're making changes to improve your work situation. And impressed you knew not to try to break your fall with an outstretched arm; that's how I tore my glenoid labrum, which required shoulder surgery many years ago. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily. Happy Victoria Day to all our Canadian friends. I used to have a lucky penny, but lost it! I feel for those with Crohn's or other colitis disorders, and hope research finds a cure. Turtles are great creatures. It's also 143 Day in PA. A statewide day of kindness in honor of Mister Rogers. His way of saying "I love you" was “1-4-3” — for the number of letters in each word. Today is the 143rd day of the year, a day to share acts of love and kindness. The meal and drink look good. I'll pass on the wine. I haven't been to Japan and will appreciate all pictures. It feels chilly here, with temps in the 50's. But it will warm up a bit later. I might try to mow the lawn today or tomorrow, while it's dry. I've been planning to get a new roof. Now maybe even sooner since I noticed some water entry on my 3rd floor. This will be an expensive project for this old 3 story house! @rafinmd My condolences on the loss of your friend Phil.
