  1. Interesting as we have traveled internationally on American, United, Delta, BA and they all have 50 lbs max for economy and some have 70 ibs for business class. Just checked Delta, United and American and still have 50lbs for free checked bag eight limit, even domestically Here is an example for Delta in economy traveling Rio back to NYC with no status: Outbound GIG - NYC 1st Bag Free (50lbs/23kg 62in/158cms) It is the same for United and American ....perhaps you are thinking kilos instead of pounds as 23 kilos equals 50 lbs
  2. Thank you for clarifying - I believe you have at least 2 free bags weighing 50 lbs each when traveling internationally, even in economy, so hopefully that helps with packing for your flight back from Brazil.
  3. They can't provide luggage forward to Miami either?
  4. They still can provide the luggage forward service for your embarkation but not for disembarkation, is that correct? That could be why they are continuing to send you communication concerning luggage forward....I am sorry that this has become such a huge issue for you to ruin your cruise
  5. Let me try one more time.... The chart above is telling you how many credits you receive for a cruise depending upon the length of the cruise If your cruise is up to 24 days in length - you receive 1 cruise credit for that cruise If your cruise is 25- 34 days in length - you receive 2 cruise credits for that cruise If your cruise is 35 - 44 days in length - you receive 3 cruise credits for that cruise And so on..... Then to reach the different loyalty levels you need a certain number of cruise credits: Blue - 1 cruise credit ( so everyone after their first cruise is blue) Bronze - 5 cruise credits - this could be attained by sailing on 5 cruises of 24 days or shorter ( 1 cruise credit each), 2 cruises of 25-34 days in length ( 2 cruise credit each) and 1 cruise of 24 days or less( 1 cruise credit) or 1 cruise of 25-34 days ( 2 cruise credits) and 1 cruise of 35 -44 days ( 3 cruise credits)... The number of days you have sailed has nothing to do with your loyalty level....the length of each cruise determines how many cruise credits you receive for each cruise. Your loyalty level depends upon how many cruise credits you have. Two completely different things..... What did your loyalty level show when you signed into your account and how many cruise credits did it say you need to attain the next level?
  6. Not necessarily - if you look at the other options on the same page 1 CREDIT up to 24 days 2 CREDITS 25-34 days 3 CREDITS 35-44 days 4 CREDITS 45-54 days 5 CREDITS 55-64 days 7 CREDITS 65-99 days 10 CREDITS 100-157 days 15 CREDITS 158+ days
  7. yes - you can order any type of bottled water in any dining venue...you can also request to have stocked in your room fridge, You will also have large bottle of still or sparkling Vero water in your room to fill your water bottles
  8. When you log into your account on O webpage and click on "My Account overview" you will find "Oceania Club". when you click on that it will tell you how many cruise credits you have and will show all of the Oceania cruises you have taken. As I said, the number of days you have sailed has nothing to do with what your Oceania Club level is....that is simply telling you that IF you sail on a cruise that is 100 - 157 days long you will receive 10 credits. I think you will find your answer on your account page on Oceania Website... Here is a sample of what you will see... You have 23 Cruise Credit(s) You need 17 more credit to reach Diamond Status
  9. It can be confusing but the chart you are referencing is telling you how many cruise credits you receive for the length of the sailing - for your example, if you take a cruise that is 100 - 157 days in length, you will receive 10 credits. If your cruise is 24 days or less, than you receive 1 cruise credit. So it is possible to have sailed more than 100 days but not have the 10 cruise credits needed to be Silver....many of our cruises have been 20-23 days long so our cruise credits are much less than days sailed,...I hope this clarifies
  10. You can go ahead and use your Bronze award snd when you step on board you will find you have the difference between the Bronze award and the Silver award in your account to use onboard...they do not upgrade your status until you step onboard the ship . If something happened and you did not take the cruise, you would still be bronze until you actually take the next cruise. We are on a B2B2B and the last segment we will level up so our status will be the same for cruise 1 and 2 and when cruise 3 starts, our status will be updated and we will see additional perks
  11. I believe this is correct for all embarkation/disembarkation port. Generally they do offer a few "tours/transfers" for disembarkation day onboard a few days prior.
  12. We have stayed in several rooms round the elevator/stairs on deck 11 on Marina and Riviera and the cabin placement is correct based upon our cabins
  13. Here is a link to the deck plan which shows the specific cabin location in regard to the elevator/stairs - hope this answers your question. We have stayed in rooms at this location and the placement showing on the deck plan is correct - https://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships/riviera/deck-plans-details?deck=11#nav
  14. And now those sailing on Explora Journey have one of the best CD's in the industry - Ray Carr
  15. As you said, it is worthless to try and have this discussion as no matter what proof is provided, there is always a retort back dismissing the facts. I think some just don't like to admit that perhaps they are not the King/Queen of best cruise pricing possible. We have always booked onboard and got discounts, transfer to TA and get additional discounts, TA has continued to get price reduced when sales occur (and it is't always us that finds the sale) ..and , before the retort comes back, we do not book suites and we do not book multiple expensive cruises a year so not a cash cow for our TA....
  16. If there is a certain non-alcoholic drink that is important to my cruse enjoyment, I simply let my TA know and she notifies O and it has always been waiting for me ....if you ever sail O again, just let them know you want Fever Tree for your mixer ahead of sailing. I understand that, for you, they should just have this mixer in all bars...
  17. Actually, our room steward has brought us a vacuum that worked perfect for this...we had all of the bags packed and ready and it took about 5 minutes to compress everything...
  18. There is no culinary center on the smaller ships so no classes.....they do have some cooking demonstrations in the lounge that are put on by the chefs. Also, there is no art center on the smaller ships.
  19. I stand corrected but I believe they were asking about the hat, bag etc. you receive when leveling up
  20. The new level paraphernalia is not handed out at the O club party but will be left in your cabin. The only thing recognized at the O club party is handing pins to those attaining the highest level of Diamond or Presidents.
  21. Understand that you will not have access to your cabin until it is available for occupation - the time is staggered so depends upon your cabin. You can definitely drop off your checked baggage and either head out with just your hand luggage or proceed to check in, board, enjoy lunch onboard and then leave ship again with handheld luggage (if cabin is not available) or without if your cabin is available.. I didn't want any misunderstanding that you can access your room as soon as you board, if that is early and you are in a ocean view or inside cabin.. I am sure someone will post the usual times cabins are available by category
  22. That appears to be a generic letter as it does not state your embarkation and debarkation ports specifically. I would call the above person directly and have her pull up your confirmation to reconfirm that you are good to go. I am sure there is no problem with Miami but hope you don't have any surprises in Rio....just trying to help you avoid an issue in Rio as we know others that have had no service in Brazil due to their customs regulations,
  23. Less than an hour ago..... Luggage Forward To:You Wed 8/14/2024 12:17 PM Rose replied Aug 14, 3:16pm Hello, Thank you very much for contacting us. Unfortunately, at the moment we are not servicing Brazil due to the customs restrictions in the country. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Best regards, -- Rose D'Angelo support@luggageforward.com +1 617 482 1100
  24. One other thought is if you want to pre-purchase, it must be done at least 3 days prior to boarding (for correct paperwork to get to ship), otherwise you can purchase onboard...
