  1. Breakaway Haven question that I felt silly creating a separate thread about... I know the Haven Courtyard on the Breakaway has a retractable roof. Do they normally have the roof open during the day (maybe only when at port) and closed for the evening or when there is bad weather?
  2. Can someone clarify for me when the rule is 16 and up for the Haven "sun deck" is that the upper deck inside (on the Breakaway) or the outside, or maybe both?
  3. I sent an email Monday and received an email stating ... "We have received your email inquiry, please allow up to 48 business hours for a response. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9AM - 6PM EST." In my opinion "48 business hours" is awkwardly written and we are in EDT not EST. Does that mean 6 business days if they work 8 hour days? I guess I will call on Monday (we leave the following Sunday) as I don't have high hopes the email will get it done.
  4. Does anyone know if the 2-bedroom suites (Breakaway if it matters) have power next to the bed in the main bedroom? One or both sides?
  5. I just wanted to say thank you for your response as well as your hundred's of other posts that I have read. Your posts are always insightful, helpful, and respectful even when others turned up the heat. You will certainly make my first Haven experience more educated and enjoyable. Thank you!
  6. I received my "pre-cruise Concierge" via email for our 11/6 cruise. I want to make dinner reservations but the entertainment timings is important as I want to get to some of the shows like Six. Should I just wait until we are on the ship and I have the schedule (hopefully they publish the whole 14 days at once)?
  7. Planning for first time in the Haven. We have the drink package but most of the time just drink soda. Can I ask the butler to keep cans of soda in the fridge? Not worth it if I have to pay for each can, just convenient for us if it is possible.
  8. Length # Of Dining Package Meals 3-6 Nights 1 Meal / Any Stateroom 7-11 Nights 1 Meal / Studio, Inside, Oceanview 7-11 Nights 2 Meals / Balcony & Above 12+ Nights 2 Meals / Studio, Inside, Oceanview 12+ Nights 3 Meals / Balcony & Above Haven is "Balcony & Above" so yes, 3 meals on cruises 12+ Nights
  9. Two or three depending on which type of room you booked. Look at table in terms and conditions. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions
  10. My family (me, husband, and two young teens) have a 14 day cruise leaving NYC and debarking in New Orleans in November. Unfortunately we need to fly home the same day we debark so we only have from say 10am until 5:30PM when we need to be at the airport. We would love to see whatever we can of New Orleans, but we will have lots of luggage. We planned to Uber to wherever and then to the airport unless anyone has a different opinion. Any luggage hotels where we could store our luggage while we explore? Any suggestion on what to do and sightsee for a time we are there? We can do the ship excursion but $280 and three hours I feel like we could do a lot better.
  11. Once the bidding has started do the level-up amounts ever change? Meaning if $290 is the lowest GOOD price for a Club Balcony Suite would that change as time goes on?
  12. Thanks this is very helpful. We are leaving out of the US and doing the Caribbean but I will remember your note about time zone changes for future vacations. My daughter is 13 and she was only diagnosed 2 months ago so we have learned a lot. We still have a lot to master but are determined to make this cruise in November work. Your suggestion of the chocolates is a good one and easy to bring on. I never thought I would need to wake up my teenage kids in the middle of the night to eat! I will be sure to triple check my her suppliers and have backups for the backups, maybe even spread across multiple bags. 🙂
  13. How do I know if it is happening as I am on a 14 day cruise with a family of four and this would be great, but I also don't want to be charged.
  14. My daughter was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. For low blood sugars, especially in the middle of the night, we use chocolate milk to bring up her glucose. Will I be able to access chocolate milk to keep in the room mini fridge, preferably sealed so it will stay fresh and not be suspectable to spillage? I would not be opposed to bringing it with me but I think liquids are restricted, although maybe I could get an exception with her medical condition.
  15. I had that problem when we tried to book the same restaurant twice (even if the first reservations were made days before). Seems like an IT problem but it has been that way for a while. I ended up having to call myself.
  16. My family and I are on the Breakaway for a 14 night cruise in November. I have booked our specialty restaurants nights but there are some production shows we don't want to miss and I may need to adjust our dinner timings. When we get on the cruise is there a way of seeing the entertainment schedule for the length of the cruise so I can adjust as necessary?
  17. Do you know if the upgrades are traditionally limited to only 2 extra meals? We have a 14 day cruise and I was hoping to add on more than 2 but price wise it doesn't make sense.
