  1. Have a great cruise! I went to HS in Va. Beach a LONG time ago - Go Marlins!
  2. Are you picking up or dropping off there? Post cruise they are often overwhelmed by cruise passengers, and I have seen delays reported on this board. Dropping off and heading to POM - you should have no issues.
  3. The drive from MIA to Port Everglades takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. Plan on a $75-80+ cab fare, depending onwhere your FLL hotel is located. You can also take the Tri-Rail train from MIA to several stations in the FLL area - ask your hotel where to get off; tickets cost about $5. Uber and Lyft should be cheaper than a taxi, unless demand pricing pushes the fares up.
  4. Fly to FLL www.visitlauderdale.com provides lots of hotel and tourist information -find one that meets your needs/budget www.rideSAS.com, Go Airport shuttle, Larry's Limos and others suggested often on this board can get your group from the FLL are to POM and back to FLL after your cruise
  5. www.resortpass.com Plug in your dates and see what's available.
  6. Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon has a strip mall across the street with dining and fast-food options - plus a grocery store, drug store and liquor store! 😎
  7. Hotels near MIA sometimes offer cruise parking and a port shuttle for a fee - none will shuttle you back to your car post cruise so plan on a $30+ cab ride. La Quinta East, Embassy Suites MIA and Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon are the most often suggested options. As suggested above, I would call to verify that they still offer the parking deals. parksleepfly dot com and stay123 dot come are two sights you can check for hotels offering parking deals.
  8. Welcome to the boards! 😎 What time do you arrive into FLL? The later in the day the fewer shuttle options you will have. SAS is the popular option for about $15 per person. Two van taxis at about $75+ per cab will also do it. We love Larry's Limos.
  9. Unless the shuttle provides a car seat you will need to bring one - can you 5 year old use a booster seat? There are inflatable models that do not take up much room. The airline will check any car seat for free if you choose not to use it on the flight. You could take Disney transport back to MCO to catch any of the shuttles listed above, or rent a car one way from WDW to PC area.
  10. As mentioned above, only hotels near the airport will offer airport shuttles. Not aware of any hotel offering free POM shuttles - some offer paid shuttles, but with 4 of you a taxi or Uber/Lyft would likely be a cheaper option. Staying near the airport is a good option if your flight arrives late or you don't care about seeing much/any of downtown Miami. The Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon, suggested above is a good airport option with nearby dining and shopping options (strip mall across the street). There is also a Hampton Inn located in the Mary Brickell area of downtown that gets rave reviews on this board -lots of nearby dining and shopping options. Taxi from MIA to downtown hotels will run about $30 and a cab to the port the next day will be about $15-20. Van/SUV cabs cost more - so pack light! Welcome to the boards and have a great cruise! 😎
  11. For solo travelers that is a good deal - Uber will be about $50-60+ and taxi will be about $75+.
  12. resortpass.com will connect you to hotels/resorts offering day passes to their beach/pool/spa facilities. Let the hotel/resort watch your bags while you swim. relax, get pampered and dine before heading to the airport.
  13. resortpass.com will connect you to hotels/resorts offering day passes to their beach/pool/spa facilities. Skip the rental car and let the hotel watch your bags while you swim. relax, get pampered and dine before heading to the airport.
  14. I think the taxi fare will be closer to $75+ - maybe more for a minivan cab. Uber/Lyft should be a bit cheaper, but surge pricing could push up the fare.
  15. Lots of hotels in the Channelside area near TPA with nearby dining and shopping options. More upscale IMHO is the Rocky Point area (we like Chase Suites), also close to TPA. Taxi to the port the next day, if a shuttle is not offered, will run about $25+. Budget, dates and how many are cruising would help the suggestions to be closer to your target.
  16. Cortrans and Cocoa Beach Shuttle are two other shared shuttle options. One way car rentals and Uber/Lyft are also viable options.
  17. Flying into MIA? Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon is often suggested on this board. I would call the hotel to confirm that the shuttle will run at midnight.
  18. Flying in the day of your cruise? What time are you scheduled to arrive and what time do you need to be on board? The ride from FLL to POM takes about 45+ minutes, depending upon traffic. If you are arriving EARLY in the morning do not sit at the airport for 3 hours - head to one of the nicer hotels, tip them to watch your bags and pay for breakfast and maybe a mimosa or two.
  19. Post cruise you can rent a car and be at Universal well before noon - should give you enough time to ride lots of rides, stand in lots of lines and spend lots of money.
  20. Call the hotel with your questions about shuttles. Brickell area is very different from an airport hotel location - know what you want before comparing apples to oranges.
  21. Chase Suites and others in the Rocky Point area of Tampa used to offer cruise parking packages that included transportation to/from the port. Check stay123 dot come and parksleepfly dot com for other hotels offering parking/shuttles.
  22. The garages empty as the previous guests depart. Plenty of parking should be available whenever you arrive.
  23. Airport hotels are fine if you are arriving late and do not want to see/experience Miami. If all you want is a bed and maybe dinner it will be fine. Hampton Inn Blue lagoon and the nearby Homewood Suites get better reviews and offer nearby dining and shopping options. Have a great cruise!
  24. Welcome to the boards! Orlando, where you will likely fly into, is about a 1-hour drive from Port Canaveral. If you fly in late in the day your best bet is to stay in Orlando near the airport and then shuttle/Uber to the port in the morning. If you fly in early enough, you can use a one-way car rental or shuttles/Uber to get to your Port Canaveral hotel. In the PC area we like the Homewood Suites, but there are dozens of hotels to choose from - info on your budget and who's travelling will help the suggestions to be closer to your target.
