for the upgrade to be accepted, you might get an offer until 2 days prior to sailing
-
Thanks pspercey....I booked at the fair level on the gauge...i'm hoping thats enough to upgrade...would love to have any additional input

Hello all...is the free at see free gratuities for all ships or just poa....thanks
-
Hi ncl cruisers...maybe you could enlighten me...should i pre pay the gratuities now and avoid 200 dollars for 2 people....or should I get the SDP to save on a la carte pricing...I plan on spending for 4 people at teppanyaki and for 2 at le Bistro...thanks so much...
And Last request is that if I did get the 3rd and 4th person free deal, do I have to pay gratuities for them as well....Thanks so much :D

get some extra glasses and enjoy...just make sure its out of the sight of the maitre'd as they might let you or it will be embarrasing
-
well there are many things to learn.....
starting with this forum, search for best things to do in Cuba and GSC...
Then, find out all you can by searching the ncl community forum and reviews for recent opinions of the Sky...
also, make sure you don't book as soon as school or university is over...as you might get a lot of young ones running around drinking and vomiting to their hearts content since drinks are free on the sky...
Lastly, if you are going as a family, I would reconsider this cruise, book on longer ones or get a suite if its available
-
Make sure you book any specialty restaurants prior to sailing or immediately on board as they do need advance reservations

I know construction is still going on but could someone tell me where are the best locations for a pair of clamshells close to the ocean, food and music...I am gonna really miss the lagoon as it was so pretty, but now with haven only access, that will be limited as well...thanks
-
Hi all...I am sailing with 4 adults including me in an oceanview cabin....whats a fair bid to move up to balcony specifically...I bet 100 dollars per persons for the first two adults ....I am trying to surprise those who are coming with me and I know this topic has been covered several times...just trying my luck...thanks
-
I agree too that rather than give an arm and a leg for something worth the price of a single extra passenger for a family of 4, I rather tip my "vacation heros" personally....
when I was in the haven, I made sure to tip those that went out of their way to make my vacation memorable...
just curious, has anyone had any success in the refund if you mail them in....thanks

I have heard a lot of good things about him during my research...hope he is there for the gem sailing 5/20

Just had a look at the dining for our star trip in May and Teppanyaki is not showing. Is this normal for Teppanyaki or does it mean it's sold out?
All other specialitys show up.
Not really...I heard from my TA that they only book for 50 percent online and 50 percent booking on the ship...so u still might have a chance...
but on the other hand, only one table in the teppanyaki on the star is just too tight
-
How exactly do you go about checking if your sailing has available cabins or not..
i am sailing on the gem on 5/20...are there any balconies available to uprgrade to from oceanview...i only put in a fair bet...will I still have a chance...
thanks so much
-
as much as this might expedite custom checking, not only for those who are carrying anything declared or not, it just seems safe...i think it should be done for big cities
-
another great help from "all ready 2 cruise"...can't thank you enough..
is the minifride big enough for the bottles?
where do you chill them?
thanks

Hi all...how much is the wine package...
from what price does it start and for how many bottles..
do we choose the wine or select from a list...
can we take it all over the cruise ship...
I did a quick search for this but I could not find a specific price....is it offered on the ncl gem..please help
-
to the original OP...do a quick search of the general ncl forum using the word "specialty" and you will get many hits....
otherwise, in the le bistro I personally prefer their escargot so much, i eat that multiple times.
-
Jokes aside, they should give the ubp some serious thougt as it is very tempting to drink especially at that age...
there is also bliss where they can dance to the dj provided music...
-
while staying on this topic, is it too much to request the room steward for a coffeemaker in the oceanview...if so, is it similar to the ones offered on the balcony and above

Hello all...I was wondering if I should be worried about the zika virus...true, I'm young male and healthy but I also have a young wife...and we don't want to risk our vacation by going on any of these carribean islands where its endemic...
any updates..let us know
-
lol..nice bbryan...
I used to think menu's were introduced and changed only at spring but it seems that they change more often than that and also individual shipwise...guess i have to take everything with a grain of salt (pun intended)
-
Usually on embarkation day, the buffet, osheehans (blue lagoon?) and the aft dining room are open for lunch....better to avoid the rush at buffet for a nice sit down lunch in aft dining room even before you go to your cabin.
-
op here...yes what is posted is subjective but my primary reason to do this is twofold...
1. to taste the best, most popular dish from each restaurant
2. as a guide to others who want to know what each restaurant offers
-

perks of suite in gem
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
i am debating between a mnisuite and suite on the gem...
are suites considered haven on the have?
what are the perks of having a suite on gem?
is there a separate ''ship within a ship'' on the gem?
thanks so much
