  1. Those teenagers can message Mom or Dad via the Medallion. (And really, if they just want to stop by to check in for a second with their parents I'm sure that would be fine.) The problem is more with younger kids who, if they aren't interested in the kid's club can't roam the ship on their own. When the Sanctuary didn't have a pool there would have been nothing for those kids to do there but now it does. If I booked a suite with my kids I'd expect they could be there. I love kids but a couple of loud kids in the pool would really ruin the atmosphere. ***
  2. So, at what point during the day do they determine that there will be room for non-suite guests?
  3. 🥵🥵🥵 So forty three loungers for 160 (or so) passengers.
  4. Love that they offered a vegan entree. That reminds me - have you seen or heard of a vegan menu on the Sun?
  5. Yes. All of the new cruisers on our November cruise had white medallions.
  6. Just wondering - with the Medallion and the "get your order anywhere" concept could you order the tea delivered to the Sanctuary?
  7. Thanks for all of these detailed pictures. On the preplated foods are there descriptions of what's on and the ingredients in them in front of them? Many people have food allergies and if each person has to ask a crew member to explain each dish the lines are going to be terrible. But I'm SO HAPPY to see onion rings. I hope they're the wonderful kind Princess used to serve out by the pool! ***
  8. I don't know which "planner" at Princess came up with the new configuration for the Sanctuary but, like @RMorningglory, who said EVERYTHING I've been thinking, we also have come to see the Sanctuary as an important part of our vacation. I hope Princess is reading this and can make some readjustments. We love the Sanctuary for the feel of old cruising where one had their assigned lounger and deck steward. On the Sun almost everything we love about the Sanctuary is gone, even though we are sailing in a suite. No assigned lounger so we're back to rushing up to get one of the few loungers in the shade (are there ANY in the shade on this ship?) every morning, no getting to know the specific crew in your area, no afternoon tea, just seems like a lot of no, no, no. @CanadianBurger- Thank you again for taking time out from your vacation to do this!! @RMorningglory - please make sure to post your impressions after your April cruise.
  9. Thank you for taking time out of your vacation to do the research on all of this for us. I was really excited to experience a suite on her first transatlantic this coming fall but am seriously reconsidering it now. Having a reserved lounger in the very quiet, shaded Sanctuary that we didn't have to wake up early every day to run up and reserve has come to be an important part of our cruises. And we've come to love the little break of afternoon tea served every day. So it sounds like everything we love about the Sanctuary experience is gone from the Sun. 🥵 Again, thanks for checking this all out.
  10. Cold brew, as far as I know, needs to "marinate" for 24 hours or so. Not sure how you could just set a machine to make it on demand.
  11. What are the two small dark bottles in the liquor section? I usually swap out all the liquor for Courvoisier and I don't see any in your delivery at all. 🥲
  12. If you talk to anyone can you find out if the veggie burger is any better than on the other Princess ships where it's basically grilled mashed potatoes. My husband is a vegan and these "burgers" are awful. Thanks! ***
  13. No salmon on the Princess Favorites menu? One souffle for the whole cruise? 😡
  14. I don't think it's usually available on transatlantics. We have a transatlantic in the fall also so I hope I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that that's the case.
  15. Thank you for doing this. I hope you don't regret it. Can you check out two things for me please. Are any of the loungers in the suite part of the Sanctuary in the shade? Also, could you ask someone (Guest services or concierge in the suite lounge) just how they decided which balconies got straight back chairs vs, reclining chairs? It seems inconceivable to me that we don't even get reclining chairs on our Suite balcony.as the photos seem to indicate.
  16. I think this cabin is in the "Sphere". Hence the tall tinted glass.
  17. They don't seem to offer my usual boarding day lunch of salmon on the Reserve menu but the photo looks like you got it anyways. Accurate??? (But where is the souffle?🥲) ***
  18. The balcony we had was on a CELEBRITY ship. Haven't been on the Sun yet.
  19. @CaptainKirk - I know it's been two days but I just saw your post. FWIW - We had an extra long balcony on a Celebrity ship years ago. They are really coveted and hard to get so I was thrilled to snag one. It looks similar to the one pictured on the Sun but is a little wider and even a little less deep. If you like sunlight in your cabin AT ALL you won't like that balcony. We hated the balcony and would never book one again. Found it very dark and depressing. I think you made a wise move.
  20. No Espresso Martini ???? 😢😢😢
  21. We are also Elite and have been cruising for 50+ (😳🥸) years. None of the things in our Plus package ( drinks, wifi, gratuities) have ever been included in our cruise fare - except for room service and even that has improved with the Medallion since i can now, for the first time ever, get a cappuccino or a glass of wine delivered to my cabin. And, as far as Princess Elite benefits being equivalent to what we get on other lines - that is subjective. We find the Princess benefits a better fit for our needs. (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the unlimited laundry for our longer cruises!!) ***
  22. They had a room like this outside of Alfredos on the Sapphire. (Which, BTW, is looking better and better the more I see of the Sun)
  23. We have booked the Sanctuary for our entire cruise ever since it was introduced years ago. It has become one of our favorite parts of cruising. There is no way I would book even one day in this new iteration. Someone in planning should lose their job over this terrible miscalculation.
