I had the same thought that this ship will be perfect for sailing into Canada. Based on many posted reviews it doesn't seem like the Venezia will be a good fit for Caribbean travel. The pools and lido area don't appear to support the party atmosphere.
I enjoy sailing on the Pride. Love the look of an older ship and dark wood.
However cruising at Thanksgiving when school is out could be very interesting !
Once you are settled back at home can you post your experience with debarkation at the NY port (transportation). What I have read is that the Carnival shuttle service is very unreliable and can even be cancelled. Others have reported walking blocks away from the port just to catch Uber / Lyft.
We are sailing in September (first time in NY ) and trying to piece together the plans for travel back home. Thanks!
So on your previous NYC sailing, how was debarkation on your return? I have read that the port area is very chaotic (disorganized) trying to get to your transportation. We will be flying home from LaGuardia and don't know if we should plan to use a taxi / Uber/Lyft or Carnival transportation.
We are on this same cruise in September. Never sailed from NYC and have never visited Canada Really hoping for some chilly mornings !! Still haven't made a decision on excursions yet.
NOLA (beads) for Halloween hasn't been a big favorite. The NOLA attire is worn for the actual Mardi Gras parade with the king and queen. Halloween 2021 Colonel Sanders 🐔 and the Mrs. won the top prize . They offer some bewitching cocktails !
The Heroes lounge on the Mardi Gras is not large but has the big screens and comfy seating. Our experience with the games is that there will some shown however if it isn't the game you are interested in you are out of luck. The bartenders can't change the station and complaining to guest services will get you nowhere. We enjoy college and Pro 🏈 and realized our mistake last year.
We sailed on an 8-day cruise on the Sunshine and were not impressed with the ship. The common areas were so over crowded and the serenity area was located right next to the main Lido pool. No separation at all so you had to endure all the noise and people. Nothing serene about it.
A couple of years ago we were at the beach at Costa Maya and it was really thick. Both in the ocean and on the beach. Apparently it is a endless battle that can't be won. Instead of building sand castles the kids had their arms full bringing it up on the beach. 🌴
In comparison to years past, it takes so much longer to eat in the MDR. We often skip dessert just so we can make to a show on time. Also amazing how long it takes them to clear the table between courses.
I always decorate our door and my experience with the magnets is that the refrigerator / craft type are too weak and will not hold. You just need to purchase a more heavy duty brand and it will work just fine.
As a follow up, we were just on the Mardi Gras and we were allowed to order cookies in place of the strawberries. Room service brought over white chocolate macadamia nut !! Good stuff !
So trying to meal plan for our upcoming cruise and I've heard rumors that the famous MDR lobster night has been changed from Sunday to Thursday.
Is this info accurate? Wondering why the change?
