  1. Have the security issues around Tulum improved? I know it was bad there 18-24 months ago but haven’t been following it much recently.
  2. They may use their own boats but it was the Disney Captain that canceled the excursion. I just wondered if he canceled all water excursions or if there is something unique to consider with that one.
  3. I am sure it will be fixed with an update. Only repeating what I have heard, i have no experience. We are holding off installing IOS17 because there were initial problems as there often is with new systems. I think most have been resolved.
  4. It is about as far outside port as inside - about 0.5 miles total. You can virtual walk most of it on Google. You can find previous discussions on here with maps from Native Choice as to how to get through the port.
  5. What about excursions to the other keys? Pearl island, Rose Island etc? All water excursions cancelled?
  6. Obviously Paradise are no longer making it lucrative for the taxi drivers unless they bring AI guests. I am not sure what the deal was with two lines at dispatch, that sounds strange.
  7. Glad to hear PAYG is still an option, even with that many ships in port. Obviously depends on season but recent reviews seem to indícate numbers are not as high as once reported. When cruising resumed obviously there was a cap by Mexican government on beach club capacity but when then was lifted I was surprised to hear reports that Paradise Beach was often full for PAYG and only AI available. I don’t recall it reaching capacity on a regular basis previously (apart from Spring Break) when it was only PAYG so that seemed surprising. Perhaps levels have settled down now. Your check was much more in line with what we would expect to pay.

That is what we have done but I understand the logic of them wanting a commitment too.
  9. Ok, maybe check out Buccanos website. Parasailing and jet skis available for extra. Pool and small beach if he would be OK with that. Better snorkeling (sea fans and fish) at Sky Reef but no pool. They also have a website. Rocky so no beach. Palancar, better beach but would require short boat ride for snorkeling, not sure if they could get to El Cielo (you would have to write and ask). No pool. Maybe Playa Uvas. Kayaks, snorkeling, pool. I have never been. All have websites. You cant get good snorkeling from a sandy beach without a boat ride.
  10. Is it just one cabin you are trying to rebook? Do they have a refundable deposit fare? Do they have insurance?
  11. Best” is subjective. Do you want authentic Yucatan food, a local eatery or “better class”tourist restaurant providing “Mexican” food? The “best” local restaurants are in town. You will get Tex-mex at the beach bars. Better beach food at Buccanos. Better beach with activities for teens south of port at Sanchos or Paradise Beach. Near to International, 1xKool offers Mayan experience, either restaurant or cooking class. Hundreds of taxis on Cozumel operating within the tourist zone. Prices are listed on a board at the port. Agree price before you get in and take photo of taxi cab number, (in case you forget something, or need to report).
  12. You don’t say how old the kids are. Chankanaab may be an option or perhaps Buccanos, which has a pool and snorkeling from semi rocky beach or from disused pier by derelict hotel.
  13. Mr Sanchos or Paradise Beach, although water toys are in deep water so depends on swimming ability of youngest. No decent snorkeling from a sandy beach. You may see “some” things. To snorkel from the shore you need a rocky entrance but therefore no water trampolines etc. Chankanaab may offer an compromise of some activities and better snorkeling. Playa Mia may be another option with snorkeling from boat. All have websites.
  14. It has regularly been discussed on here that provisions can be made for one-off arrangements when returning late from a scheduled Royal excursion. Of course it will be ship dependent and Christmas Eve may complicate matters but it doesn’t hurt to ask. The main problem will be that you won’t know until you are on the ship, so have a back-up plan in place. If you are a large group it will also be more difficult.
  15. The only turtle excursions I know are the seasonal “save the turtle excursions” for a limited period on east coast but a quick google search did reveal one boat snorkel excursion to a “turtle sanctuary” which included El Cielo famous for starfish. I thought most turtle excursions were from the mainland.
  16. There have always been a large number of guests that won’t get off in Nassau. It makes me laugh every time I read they will “enjoy an empty ship”.
  17. We had a TA in 2013 scheduled to stop at Coco Cay. It is nothing new. This was before it was developed and stop was aborted because it was too rough to tender.
  18. Before you jump to conclusions you should ask why, the price drop is refused. Not all price drops are allowed in all circumstances. Is this a cruise price drop you are looking at, or price drop on UDP? If the latter why is your TA involved- why aren’t you doing it yourself online? Why do you have to wait until Monday? That is a bigger problem. Does this TA belong to an agency? It would appear we don’t have all the facts.

We have never paid in advance on Roatan although i know requests are more common now.
  20. Have you read the answers to your previous questions? @crewsweeper already described what is at the port or you can Google a port map. The man-made port is right where the ship docks with very long pier. I suggest you take a look at Google maps and skim over the last page of this board to see if anywhere interests you. The same places are recommended over and over. Locally there is the port, the malecon, some out of town beach clubs, excursions to the ruins with add-ons. The waterpark has reopened.
