  1. I think I would want to double check with them that these instructions are current. That looks like their old map and instructions. Main Taxis dispatch is now inside the port. I know Maya Chan has a pick-up booth outside the port and were trying to negotiate for a pick-up inside, unsuccessfully. Costa Maya is always changing its taxi dispatch station. Pre Covid it was on the left exiting the port. I am not sure if there is still a dispatch outside or if is just a matter of securing a random returning driver now. It doesn’t sound like Almaplena has a dedicated driver that is actually wAiting for you but perhaps they have negotiated a discount for pick-up outside (although the written instructions are somewhat confusing as they say inside OR outside the port).
  2. Glad to help out! We have walked to My Bar and it is good too but Rackams is convenient if you want to stay in town and be close to the ship!
  3. How was disembarking in Galveston? Not so good for those on Adventure apparently?
  4. Interesting. The “official “ rate is supposedly $4pp from the port, obviously they didn’t appreciate a single passenger. The rate pre-Covid was $8 per taxi for up to 4 people so they are now aiming for a $16 fare, but will take an $8 minimum.
  5. Hundreds of taxis available in Cozumel, lined up at all three ports. which port you dock at may affect which beach is easiest, most convenient to get to. This or similar question asked regularly so I suggest you look back through the last page on thus forum for recent reviews but these threadsin particular may help
  6. What exactly do you mean by US$8 or $5? Did you try to negotiate for a taxi and then piggy-back on a golf cart? Where did you actually go in Mahahual?
  7. No free Johnny Rockets breakfast on Adventure. Agree easy to check free options on App.but basically Cafe Promenade or Windjammer for embarkation.
  8. Shame to be so dismissive, Coxen Hole has never been considered a destination in itself and as @crewsweeper says you need to get outside the port to experience Roatan, either with a private driver or cruise line excursion. It isn’t my favorite port either but we have made many port of call stops there over the years since about 2005 and I can tell you it has greatly improved since those early days! An extra pier was added just before Covid shut everything down and if the water park development ever gets completed there will hopefully be more for people to do in the immediate area. I have my own issues with Roatan generally but it isn’t based on my opinion of Coxen Hole. Some research on the port of call board may have provided suggestions for something that may have interested you. We actually enjoy lunch and a drink at Captain Jack’s, just outside the port these days but we have been on several trips east and west of Coxen Hole in the past. It is good that there are many different itineraries to choose from so good luck with future sailings and choices. Sometimes it is nice just to have a ship day - difficult to enjoy EVERY port of call on an itinerary
  9. Looks like you will just get it in before they start to charge. Are you able to reserve a complimentary in advance? Does the day bed actually come with anything fir $50?
  10. I thought according to port of Galveston schedule repositioning sailing was supposed to dock at old terminal, sail from there then return to new terminal. Fairly sure we did facial recognition in Bayonne on the outward repo although went downhill after that as baggage claim there was also a mess! Sounds like new terminal wasn’t fully prepared? Interested to hear how disembarking of Allure goes next week.
  11. I have never been to Sanchos. I am interested to know in what way you consider Paradise Beach to be a cross between the two?
  12. Which airport? We have used Galveston Express. There are cruise line transfers.
  13. Prices for both bars online on their websites.
  14. You had better prepare yourself for Paradise Beach then! Recent reports suggest it is regularly “sold-out” although I find that hard to believe unless they have seriously reduced capacity as I don’t recall it being a problem prior to Covid. I can understand needing to go with tweens/teens, I but elbow to elbow loungers, all- inclusive and water park passes all add up. For us there are many other options when we don’t have kids/grandkids with us. The facilities are very good and clean but crowds and tourist prices deter us. We did go one January specifically to enjoy the advertised “heated” pool but I guess heated is subjective, too cold for me!
  15. We enjoy the deck at Rackams but haven’t had conch fritters there.
  16. Don’t think he was expecting to - it was a Texas “thing”, (although I think Bennie J’s may be closed?).
  17. There have been a few previous reviews if you use the search engine for this forum. Walk from Cabana to Chankanaab? If you look at the property map of Chankanaab you will see Cabana Beach is within it. There will be taxis to return - not sure if you exit via main exit or the back entrance.
  18. @crewsweeperThese are all good options but I got the impression the OP wanted a sandy beach with loungers. As you and I know, that is not going to happen close to International OP, @Luckyrootif you want “sand” Palancar or Punta Morena are options. Both are a fair distance from International. Morena you will need to pay for your taxi to stay with you and nice beach but very careful ocean swimming. Palancar you will probably get a separate taxi back but I think both would be pushing it time wise. If you are willing to compromise with man made sandy area with loungers, a lot more options. Buccanos has returned to my “in favor” list now they have amended their entrance fee for cruisers. $10 entrance fee, i think credited to food and drinks, nice pool small beach may be good option. Similar set up at Playa Azul next door but smaller. Money Bar might be a good option if you go to Panchos at Puerta Maya and just want to look at ocean, or snorkel. El Cid may let you PAYG, (haven’t heard anyone say that is possible recently) - more like $20 with approx half credited to food and drink. We weren’t impressed with Sunset, more for snorkeling and diving or just rating drinking at a table. Possibly look at Playa Uvas or Chankanaab for lower minimum entrance fees. If you are at in town Panchos and just want a drink looking at the ocean from a lounger consider La Monina (happy hour 12-5) or Hemingways but no decent beach. I suggest you Google all these places for photos and descriptions to see if any fit your needs. I feel with your time constraints you will need to compromise if you want to eat lunch separately.
  19. You can’t. It is space available on the day.
  20. All the taxis have never stopped st third stop. Are you saying they have closed it completely, although I realize your report is somewhat dated now. Any recent updates from anyone?
  21. In town or Puerta Maya? What constitutes a “good” beach in your opinion? What facilities are important?
  22. You will find the bar menus for each bar on your App. It shows Caipirinha made with Lablon Cachaça rum served in Boleros $14
