  1. Yes, I remember the Vidalia tart. Although we welcomed its comeback it isn’t the same and we rarely choose it these days.
  2. Thanks, surprised they are repeating. It does suggest lack of creativity. The new menus don’t seem that different to us, more like shuffling the deck than anything new or different, , but I would have expected further reshuffling for longer cruises. I am sure you won’t starve, just shows a lack of imagination.
  3. Interesting comments. Interested to know how cash helps, and what else would you pay with? The question is usually US$ or pesos, tip/ no tip.
  4. Wow that is surprising so early in the year. Thanks for update.
  5. $4 pp each way but there have been reports of a $8 minimum per taxi for one person.
  6. A lot depends on which pier you dock at and how long you are in Cozumel. Also care with local time if you are booking dolphins independently Do uou have other ports where dolphins may be easier?
  7. Try checking the web cams at Pez Quadro and Maya Chan for real time. I suspect you will be OK in January but we have had it start by March.
  8. As someone born and bred a stone’s throw from Liverpool, I have empathy with her reasoning. Familiar, yes. Enjoyable, yes. Authentic, no.
  9. LOL, @crewsweeper, there are two curries! Doesn’t say too much for the Chef’s confidence in his Roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding if he recommends his Fish and Chips, which are in no way authentic! At least they dropped their pretense at mushy peas.

    Roatan Taxis

I have never seen an “official” Taxi Association rate on Roatan. I thought they were unregulated? Is this new, or specific to Mahogany Bay which I have never docked at? I have to admit since I have always assumed they were unregulated from years back, I have never actually looked at Coxen Hole, and either arrange a driver in advance, if we plan to go anywhere, or go to the bar outside the gates for lunch. Good to know if we ever want to be spontaneous!
  11. There are cut- throughs through various shops but the last is the official route and the taxis are now inside the port at the end of that route..
  12. I would go with a private driver and pick your own locations.
  13. Someone suggested that more people might go to the WJ on a night when they didn’t like the MDR theme. It isn’t really important to me because I don’t find the MDR 100% dedicated to the theme anyway and I am not a picky eater. I will find ‘something’ to eat or decide to go to specialty or WJ in advance BUT I was just interested to know if when it was Caribbean, Mexican etc in the MDR was the WJ going to have the same theme on that night to consolidate food preparation.
  14. There have been several postings of people getting notified after boarding some quite late on as I recall. Only you can decide if it is worth the hassle.
  15. Yes there has been a theme in the WJ for some time BUT is it the same theme,?
  16. More importantly does the WJ have a different theme on a given night - not that there aren’t several options in the WJ but would be interesting to know if it is a universal theme night.
  17. I realize these were available, as stated earlier. I don’t see it on the current Symphony sailing last time I checked.
  18. Limited number of inflatable places - sanchos, paradise, Playa Mia, Fury Catamaran. Maybe need to consider a land activity with limited numbers - eg ATV, electric bikes. Or day pass to hotel which would probably be quieter, unless Spring Break. There are lots of other beach clubs with activities but not with inflatables.
