  1. I would have suggested there too - they used to have several screens but it is now owned by the old owners of “The Pub” and we have never actually found it opened yet whenever we have tried. It took a long time for them to get permits. ETA It is now called The Pub Hideaway and seems to have some recent reviews so must be open again except Wednesday’s. Red Zone seems popular. Also try Casa Cuzimil, No Name Bar, Hooters.
  2. Unless there has been a change that hasn’t been noted the port schedule says old for Nov 10th returning to new. From the planner above, first Adventure sailing is Nov 14.
  3. I have never looked, or needed one, but I don’t recall seeing any.
  4. It has been a few years since we took our Grandson. I think he was slightly older than 6 and he didn’t snorkel much but he had already done the dolphins and manatees. He mainly swam in the pool. There is a small sandy cove where you can enter directly - the official snorkeling area is accessed via steps in a rocky area and you would need to assess the child’s swimming ability and currents on the day. My daughter and grandson had included buffet, which seemed adequate, and transport with their dolphin excursion through the ship. My husband and I took an independent taxi and paid for our entrance with a coupon like you have printed. There are a couple of alternative beach bars and cafes i think. We just did PAYG at the beach above the snorkeling area where we had a palapa. Bars and restaurants are marked on the park map on their website. We are actually planning to return to Chankanaab in the near future but have purchased the ship pass with lunch. We rarely do ship excursions, especially in Cozumel which we know so well but the excursion was on sale and was more economical since it included lunch and transport.
  5. We have been several times since it opened about 4 years ago. The above price was a promotional price when they reopened after Covid and they have returned to regular price, unless already booked at promotional rate. We enjoy it for convenience and price, no taxi required from International. Generally it is adult only for the weekday beach club but at weekends there is a Sunday Brunch which is popular with families and there may be children in the pool. As stated it is very small and no beach. Pool is small and not very deep but is good for socializing and cooling off. Website is very accurate with description and photos but many people fail to read it and are disappointed. Unfortunately there have been cutbacks from the original menus, especially this year like many places, but food and service have always been very good. Menu is more like “small plates” (not full sized meals) but is unlimited. Drinks are unlimited. Prices are probably for hotel guests like Nachi Cocom, not AI guests.
  6. The first stop is the biggest beach club and has lots of room for sitting on the beach - loungers and hammocks or restaurant/bar under cover. Second stop is up a cliff for the view. Third stop does have beach but you need to walk outside the bar area. Fourth stop more rocky. Depending on time you are visiting east side can be affected by sargassum.
  7. Totally OK to pay onsite and look for $2 pp discount coupon.
  8. Approximately 40-50 minutes depending on number of people on the tour, building in time for stragglers, although it is well organized and you get a warning call before final. You can “cool off”in the ocean at a couple of the bars but you don’t have much time and more importantly you need to be careful of undertow and rip currents at beaches on the east coast. One bar is up a cliff and no beach. If you want to see the east side but specifically want beach swimming as well it is easier to book an independent driver and finish at a beach on the west coast after circling the island. The Bar Hop is a good social excursion, although it is not a party tour. You can join in or not as you wish with no coercion.
  9. Yes you can just take a taxi and turn up for PAYG. Beach will probably be OK at this time of year unless sargassum brought in with recent storm in the area (which may be why you are missing Belize?). You will see sargassum situation while sailing and when you arrive in port.
  10. It depends on several factors - what and where you are touring, and how long you have a driver for and what time you are starting your tour. Money Bar will be easier to call in towards the end of your tour and you could get an independent taxi back without paying for your driver to wait but you may be late for lunch. Punta Sur requires a much longer time and entrance fee so will cut into your touring time.
  11. OK. That isn’t what the golf cart map suggests but with all that is going on in Costa Maya and Mahahual I am not surprised.
  12. The malecon is pedestrian only. The road is one block inland.I have never seen motorized vehicles allowed, only bikes and Segway’s used to be available.
  13. Was pickup inside the port or on the street outside?
  14. Yes, with difficulty according to latest blog post on their website although surprisingly no updates on what renovations were completed during shutdown
  15. Yes, of course but in certain circumstances they may actually require a passport. OP didn’t say what type of cruise initially.
  16. I agree with @crewsweeper but everyone’s comfort scale is different. If you have concerns about Cozumel - (we are happy to walk around town day or night although there are slightly more concerns since Covid) I think you may feel more apprehensive in Costa Maya, only because it is more rural and has a more “undeveloped” feel to it. The port area is large and well developed. It has a pool which may satisfy your needs although food and drink are more expensive. @bguppiesis correct that there will be many vendors on the malecon, in nearby town and also at the flea market within the port. Although persistent they are not aggressive and a polite no thank you will suffice. Not a lot for teenagers on the malecon unless they are interested in fishing, snorkeling (via boat to reef), bikes or possibly rent a golf cart. There used to be a waterpark near the port but it was closed during Covid and I have not heard of it reopening yet. My suggestion would be Maya Chan (out of town - no vendors) for paddle boards and kayaks or excursion through ship or independent to ruins or Bacalar lagoon for water activities like floats, maybe kayaks and paddle boards. I haven’t been to the lagoon so not sure what is available but the ocean around Costa Maya can be “iffy” due to sargassum, depending on the season when you are visiting. hope this helps with your research.
  17. No, if you have your own transport you would need to ask your private driver, or email the resort directly. It has been a long time ago since I contacted them directly and I am sure prices have changed. Transport with a private driver will be dependent on the number in your party so you would have yo determine for yourself which is the better deal. Do you already have transport?
  18. The basic is the minimum- no food and drinks.
  19. Ok, came up for me - must be an old link but I have seen very few people wearing them in recent years so perhaps not worth it to them. (ETA Sorry not US site) Agree might be more popular at New Year’s Eve but people probably bring their own.
  20. This is nothing new we have done this at Key West before now.
  21. Did you try the website? Search your Frequently Asked Questions Q Can I rent or order formal wear onboard? We do offer tuxedo rental onboard most of our ships. Reservations can be made online via Tuxedo Rentals. Guests can also make reservations onboard, subject to availability.
