  1. Sharing my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. Prayers for you and your family. 🙏
  2. My mistake, I thought it was $16.50. That’s weird. I was on the NS last month and prepaid my gratuities (not part of a package). This is my statement on the cabin TV:
  3. I’ve heard that even if you prepay the crew gratuities, HAL does not “lock you in.” But on a 7-day cruise it will only be a $3.50 total increase.
  4. Good morning. I’ll be back to work (from home) today in a bit. Happy Tuesday! 🙂
  5. Mornin’ family! I made French toast for breakfast and getting ready to watch the Tournament of Roses Parade (starts at 8 am PST). Then later I’m visiting my friend (and bringing poke bowls) who got out of the hospital Friday evening. Amen.
  6. Yes for my first post. 😡 Same for me. 😉 So I just logged out, closed the browser, and logged back in. Let’s see what happens now… Nope, still had to prove I’m a human. 🤷🏻‍♀️😡
  7. Thank you for the Fleet Report and Daily information. I haven’t been able to stay up on NYE until midnight for years. I’ll watch the ball drop in Times Square on ABC’s “Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” and be in bed shortly after 9pm. Hope everyone has a safe and happy NYE. Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous 2024. And lots of cruises!
  8. We were on the Nieuw Statendam earlier this month and had Club Orange. It is worth it if you get it when booking your cruise and get a cabin upgrade. And on a Pinnacle Class ship (for the separate dining room). I took advantage of the cabin upgrade: I wanted a V cabin so I booked a VH, bought CO, and got a free upgrade to my V. All through my wonderful TA. Hananto (waiter), Nana (asst waiter), and Siri (Asst Maitre D) made our Club Orange dining experience wonderful. We had the same table for breakfast and dinner (there were 6 in our party). Ate in the MDR once for brunch. So between the cabin upgrade and CO dining, it was SO worth it! (I’m 4* so already get priority access.) And of course the Club Orange tote bag. 😉
  9. So nice to finally put faces to names. 😉 Had one more nice breakfast in CO dining, then went back to the cabin to gather our things and disembark the ship. Hotel shuttle came right away (13 min). We packed the truck and we’re on the road by 9:30am. Should be about 6 hours with gas and other breaks.
  10. Well, all good things must come to an end. We missed HMC yesterday because of the weather but DM and I weren’t planning on getting off the ship. DS and her DH had a shorex that was refunded. Our port fees were returned. The plan is to have breakfast in the CO dining room, then find our luggage, take the hotel shuttle back to get the truck, pack everything into the truck, and drive to Jacksonville. I’m continuing my vacation by spending a few days with my DM, DS, and her DH at their house. DM and I will fly to CA early Wed morning. Haven’t had time to read the FR & D. Hope everyone is doing well. I hope to catch up by Christmas. Take care!
  11. Checking in. 😉 Dinner twice in Club Orange dining room. Went to the M&G yesterday. Been to the Thermal Suite yesterday and today. DM loves it. Drove a 6-seater golf cart at Grand Turk (HAL shorex) today. Note for those with motion sickness: With the 4-seaters 2 of you are riding backwards. We got the 6-seater so we could put DM’s folding WC in the golf cart with us. Haven’t made it to the Dutch Cafe. Tonight is dinner in the Tamarind. TV froze last night; would not come off the shorex station. Put in a request this morning via the app. When we came back onboard it was fixed. All aboard was at 2:30pm. Just heard an announcement IN THE CABIN for 4 people (2 cabins). Sounds like the same family. Hope it’s just a glitch with the scanner.
