I’m finally home. Thanks for all the well wishes getting me home. 😘 First of all, I’ve never used a taxi that wasn’t waiting at a taxi stand. Didn’t know when you called there could be a wait. Mine was an hour so it’s a good thing I was going back to the airport early. The taxi I called didn’t come 🤨 but luckily another taxi was there so I called the first one to cancel. Also, the hotel had a little breakfast. I thought I saw a sign that bfast was Wed-Sun but in my exhausted state last night who knew what I saw. So I had a hard boiled egg, yogurt, and cranberry juice. At the airport, AA let me in the lounge because I flew international yesterday and then my last flight was cancelled. First class isn’t a valid reason to have access to the lounge anymore. She looked up my flights and I was good to go. The lounge was smaller than the one at LHR but way less people. Lots of comfy seats with power nearby and a bit of food. @kazu I didn’t use my ($12) food voucher so I gave it to a young woman at Panda Express. I don’t think it even buys one entree. 🤨 The flight was on time. I love flying first/business class but can’t afford it all the time. Luggage arrived (whew!) and I ordered an Uber. Got home at 5:30pm PDT. Going to eat and then go to bed. I’ll try to catch up with the Fleet/Daily before I leave for my next trip in 2.5 days. 😉

Hey everyone, I hope you’ve been following @LAFFNVEGAS “Live From.” We flew from AMS-LHR-PHX together, but then parted ways. Here’s my story on my last leg home: I had a bad feeling. While at the American Airlines lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, I received a text that the gate for my 8:12pm flight had changed. No problem. I arrived to my “new” gate at 7:40pm. Boarding was to start at 7:42. Flight attendants/crew were waiting at the door to board. Then about 7:50 they left. 🤔 Inbound flight arrived/disembarked at 8pm. Got a text notice a few min later that my flight delayed until 9pm. No crew. At 8:45pm the flight was delayed until 10pm. We were told a captain was on his way. AA offered folks to reschedule to Monday (today) and would put us up in a hotel (and meal voucher). But flights to my airport were mostly full and would have to fly standby or go to another airport. (There were seats in the 8:12pm flight.) I decided to take my chances and wait. A few minutes later we were updated that the capt was flying in. A few min after that we were told the capt was on a maintenance flight (not a scheduled/passenger flight) and it had not been cleared yet. At 9:45pm I got a text from AA saying: “Sorry for the change in travel plans. A complimentary hotel room and meal vouchers are available for everyone in your reservation.” So my gamble didn’t pay off. Sigh. As I mentioned, flights to my airport were mostly full and would have to fly standby or fly to another city. There were seats on the 8:12pm flight, but I elected to fly into a nearby airport leaving at 2pm today. I was given a choice of 3 hotels. The agent recommended TownPlace Suites by Marriot so I choose that. I received 2 taxi vouchers (no shuttle) and a $12 meal voucher to use at the airport, which I’ll use today since most places were closed by the time we was finished. So I’m getting ready to go back to the airport and use my food voucher and relax in the lounge (Good thing I also took today off work.) Talk to you later!

Very long day traveling to Amsterdam. Flight to IAH was a bit late landing but luckily so was the flight taking off to AMS. We arrived only 10 minutes late in AMS but it took our luggage more than 2 hours to come off the baggage carousel! It’s Friday here (almost 3am). Laffnvegas is doing a “live from.”

Going to bed a little later than I wanted but I think I’m ready for my trip. Getting up at 4:15am to leave for the airport at 5:30am. I’ll have time to catch up with today’s Daily at the airport lounge. Good night!

She doesn’t have paying passengers. She’s on her way to Singapore (to pick up crew?). Her first sailing from San Diego is Sept 1 will have passengers.

Happy Birthday, USA! 🇺🇸 Thanks to all when contribute here. I love all the pictures and memes. I thought it was going to be a relatively quiet Independence Day week (compared to previous years). I only heard a few fireworks and they were not loud. Well, that changed last night. VERY loud and big fireworks and they sounded close. 😳😡 Someone’s car alarm went off every time. I think it’s going to be worse tonight. I feel bad for the animals and vets with PTSD. I think I’m almost finished packing. One suitcase and the carryon luggage is done. So far flights are OK. 🤞 Just one suitcase and my backpack to go. Enjoy the day today!

Thanks for the well wishes. 🙂 I’m SO looking forward to this cruise (and 3 full days in Amsterdam). I’m a little nervous about flights so I check every day. (Outbound flights disappeared right after ticketing, but reappeared within 18 hours. Whew!) Bon Voyage @luvteaching!

Been up since 3:30am. Not sure why. I just wanted to say I love our Daily family. 😘 Everyone is so caring. Now I’m going to try and sleep a couple hours more.

Update #2: GF’s DH is home! He has not passed the kidney stone but is on meds. He sees the urologist again in 3 days. Thanks again! Prayer works!

Update: His pancreas is fine for now as he responded well to antibiotics. Has to see urologist for kidney stone. May be released after that. 🤞 My GF thanks everyone for their prayers. 🥰

Good Morning, Dailyite family. Thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily. Started packing. I wanted to check 1 large suitcase, and take 1 carryon and my backpack (I use as a personal item). But it looks like I’ll need to check 2 suitcases. I was up early because I kept thinking of things I still need to pack, so I started a list. Yup, I need to check 2 bags. 😛 I’ll decide if it’s large or medium depending on how long the list gets. I think I’m done ordering from Amazon for this trip. Well, I have to be done because it won’t get here in time with the holiday. So I hope I’ve got everything. 🤞 Could I please ask for some prayers? 🙏 My GF’s DH had some groin pain yesterday and he thought it was his hernia acting up. Well, he went to the doc (or urgent care) and he is now in the hospital. Kidney stones, gall stones, and pancreatitis. Treatment TBD. Haven’t heard a status from her this morning. Prayers and good thoughts are appreciated. Thanks to all for caring and sharing. 😘

Thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily. And thanks for our Cares List and Celebrations/Shout-outs Lists. COVID stopped us from shaking hands but people are getting comfortable doing it again. I’m still wary and being Asian I can get away with a bow. 😜 When we moved from VA to CA, we had to drive at night since there was no AC in the car and it was August! One night the Perseid meteor shower was putting on a show so we stopped the car and laid on the hood to watch for a bit. Like others, I only do CC and FB. Bon Voyage @rafinmdRoy! Monday will be a major packing day. Tuesday I only work for 2 hours then do last minute stuff and try to sleep. I depends on the country. The Netherlands requires a booster if your main vaccine(s) is/are more than 270 days ago. Once you have one booster you are good “forever.”

Nice trick! I stopped eating cake when someone blew out the candles LONG before Covid. Some people would think I was being rude to not eat it but I didn’t care. A nice change is when a cupcake with a candle is there to blow out.

Good morning! Love all three days: As a child I didn’t like raw onions, but now they are a MUST on burgers and hot dogs. 😋 Since my cataract surgery, I’m finally able to have Transitions glasses. 👏 I’m addicted to bingo almost (or more?) than I’m addicted to cruising. 😃 Thanks for the Fleet/Daily Report @richwmn, and @rafinmd for our Cares and Celebrations/Shoutout lists. Prayers 🙏 and hugs to those that need them, and high-fives and yippees 👏 to those celebrating. Busy week ahead as I work and try to pack for my trip.
