  1. Thanks for. letting me know how things went. Your comment about Hertz San Pedro--what was the problem? Poor service? Bad area? Enjoy your weekend.
  2. This is similar to what the airlines have been doing. It also reduces the chances for a passenger to be visited by the upgrade fairy.
  3. Yes, that is a smart idea. You need to go back and retrain that Future Cruise consultant.
  4. I say stand pat. You have nothing to lose monetarily.
  5. Thank you. I hope disembarkation goes smoothly for you. Enjoy your family time in Sacramento.
  6. Yes, I have read in this forum that it can be done after final payment for no added cost as long as your name was on the original booking when it was made. Obviously check this with your travel agent.
  7. An alternate friend could be substituted.
  8. I meant to watch the portcam as you sailed in. I can see Millennium now, but that battleship is in the way. Radiance should be arriving soon as she is just entering the channel.
  9. Is there a fairly large number of walk off passengers? Never mind, too early to ask
  10. The wording in the Cruise Planner was changed a few days later to made it clearer that the upgrade price was $10/day and not just $10 for the entire cruise. More importantly, when you added it to your cart, it was corrected to show the $10 price being multiplied by the number of nights of your cruise (before it was not multiplied when you checked out). There were those of us that pounced on it and purchased the upgrade for $10, and of those that have taken their cruise, they reported that it was indeed for the whole cruise ($10). I'm waiting for my December cruise. When the error was first reported, there was a lengthy debate on this forum on what was actually purchased (e.g. you bought an upgrade for one day) whether it was really a mistake (that it must be $10/day and that you'll be charged for the balance later), or if it was indeed a mistake whether it would be honored (e.g. the iLounge will tell you that it's a mistake and you need to pay up).
  11. Shades of the famous $10 upgrade to Premium Wi-Fi error, ambiguity, and debate late last year.
  12. I know you can book Royal Caribbean while onboard Celebrity, I simply don't know if it's for the same deal and terms.
  13. Later at 10am this morning: "Captain, there's a passenger in the casino who refuses to get off the ship--they're insisting that a certain slot machine be turned back on...."
  14. I think that's why the All Included option disappears and reappears every once in a while--to get the fence sitters who thought they missed out to jump in and book when it reappears.
  15. When we were on Constellation this past Oct/Nov, you had up to 18 months to exercise your Book Later option. Someone on our roll call for that cruise "bought" six!
  16. The Future Cruises rep is quite mistaken and there is no "luck" involved. We've only booked through a travel agent and when we have been eligible for the free loyalty one category upgrade, we've gotten it (we usually book FVs and they're not eligible). The loyalty upgrade is not an automatic thing as your TA has to remember to ask for it at the time of booking. If you choose to book online through Celebrity's website, the discount is not applied even when you supply your Captain's Club number, you have to call it in to get it (it shouldn't have to be like that). You may or may not recall us discussing the loyalty upgrade on this forum late last year. I believe that's when you found out about it.
  17. It's funny. Your cruise went by so fast. I enjoyed following along and reading everyone's posts. I hope disembarkation goes well for everyone tomorrow.
  18. Thank you very much for this information. What time did you show up to the Enterprise office--earlier or later than 9:30am? I presume you didn't do self walk off but rather disembarked with your assigned group?
  19. I am confused about date and time for the equator crossing. Is it occurring "now" which is May 6, Day 19 (your time)? Or am I wrong? Never mind, I forgot you had crossed the international date line. I keep thinking you are a day ahead. sorry.
  20. This is my mock booking for May 26 Millennium. Concierge Class, cruise only, nonrefundable deposit. It appears the 2nd guest fare is virtually zeroed out by the discount (-$3,908) even though the discount description says 75%.
  21. ....and sometimes the waiter would bring you both desserts if he could tell that you weren't sure when you were selecting. I don't know about you, but it taught us a very bad habit that we have practiced many years and pounds later.
