  1. Now days doctors are very conscious about ordering pain meds/ narcotics. The current standard has been to attain surgical and post op course with a “ non narcotic” approach. As I was getting ready to retire we were transitioning in this current safety protocol. For our area it was not 100% narcotic free surgical pain management nor post op. But a combination of various blocks, receptor blocking meds………… But aside from all the mumbo jumbo it provides a physician directed guided plan. Your physician and his/her closet medical team will direct your care knowing from experience what the most common healing time frame is. That is one of the reasons your prescription for pain meds has a case determined number of pills with no refills. Ok. So now to answer your question. When we send a person home with post op instructions we too tell them to take the pain med ordered “Around the clock” for the immediate post op recovery phase. Usual not to exceed 3-4 days. Why? if you block your own bodies nerve pathways before the pain starts than the goal and you have one happy camper. Also another factor is the individual surgical procedure and the level of pain it produces. Remember I am a Nurse. Anesthetist. And practiced side by side with Anesthesiologist who were educated in more detail in the practice of medicine than I. so I always had a great resource person. Oh so much mumbo jumbo. However. All being said. Take “their advice” They know best. You can read my view. But I do not know all your health history or needs to determine what is best for you. But as a friend I will attempt to help you understand what your physician ordered. AS YOU PRACTICE HIS INSTRUCTIONS. But what I can say is it is done. All over. HAPPY HEALING. SUE ❤️
  2. The easiest and cheapest location for us. We are near the middle of the path as the darkness transverses across of Ohio. And will experience darkness. Our backyard. But already invited to neighboring parties. The weather that day will determine our location. Many hotels are offering blackout all inclusive parties. That should be entertaining. Be safe.
  3. Another thread has that RCI Is canceling Labadee for future cruises starting tomorrow. Just saying.
  4. All that I can say it was a wild and crazy night. Unable to sleep. Kept awake by: First the singing. Then all the kisses It continued All the kicking. But. Loved every minute. 5. Been saving for our April cruise. But when I went to Walmart to buy some baking goods. As I was checking out with a real live cashier I kept hearing my name. Sue…… Sue…….. At first I thought it was the new BP pill I was started on and just shook it off. But it continued. Sue……… Sue……….. So now I grab my buggy and start to leave the check out aisle I see what is a new Ohio lottery machine. I wonder……… So I put $ 40 dollars in it and got 2 -$20 lottery scratch offs. when I got home the first one was a dud. Just a donation to the Ohio general fund. Then the second one. DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER. Yup won $1000.00 So currently ahead by $960. Added to cruise fund.

  7. I actually took the time to do a visit to my Symphony cruise thread yesterday. Glad I did because this morning at 12am you could start your registration and request your check in. Initially I was thinking tonight. Anyway the window opened at 12:10 am and we got the earliest time which was listed at 11:30-12:00. Catch you later. I have not thought of posting live from Symphony, there have been so many threads about her travels. and it seems the newest ships hold the most interest. Anyway. One never knows. Be safe.
  8. Hi all!!! Been a long time since I’ve posted about my busy days. First and foremost tonight when the clock strikes 12am. I can schedule my boarding time for Symphony of the Seas in April. Next. Still traveling to babysit Miss Zoey who is soon to be 15 months old. Walking - talking - busy busy young lady. Keeps me on my toes. And finally. Since I have been averaging over 8,000 miles a month on my car we decided to buy a new car while the trade in value is still somewhat decent. So after we attended the Cleveland car show I fell in love with another Chevy. This past Tuesday the dealers in our area were offering double show incentives. So. My baseline on a trade in Blue book said $15,000. So enter dealer candidate #1. Had my car in my color. When I told him I wanted to talk business. My questions are? 1. What is the trade in value? 2. What are the incentives when doubled? 3. When can I get the car? 1. Well this was the stick in the mud. the offer was $11,400, for trade in. I just. Hmmmmmmm But gave him a chance. 2. The incentives we’re amendable. —-first responsder/ health care $500 —-$1,000 loyalty —-GMAC loyalty. —-Extend the 3 year usual factory warranty to 5 years for free. Now I do not or have never worked for GMAC nor any family members but they would say I did and give the discount. Then he goes. So in essence it is a tad over $15,000 when we add the incentives to the trade in. So I called the spouse and he agreed. SOLD So they go if we can get you approved for a loan you can pick the car up at 9 am. I go if I pay cash can I get it today? Of course 4pm. So. I drove home at 5 pm with my new car. Be safe.
  9. Oh Mr Sea Dog. I have hardly been on cruisecritic and sorry to hear about your needing surgery again. Here’s to a speedy recovery. Take care. 💕
  10. After our daughters sandals were stolen from her lounger while swimming at one of the pools we purchased a Kyss bag. We lock it to our lounger at the pool. Not in “Prime Area”. But a lounger , or a chair. We have always had open chairs around us so we are not chair hogs. We just use one chair. We put our valuables and sea pass in the bag. Peace of mind. Be safe.
  11. Some suntan lotions will remove the printed on information.
  12. I have dealt with symptoms of intermittent RLS for over 20 years and finally became more frequent 5 years ago to the point I needed help. At first just walking the stairs….up and down about 10 times seemed to help. (Yup at 11pm some nights). After meeting with my Dr. I was started on the lowest dose of Ropinirole at bedtime. Now I am still on the lowest dose but I with his advice take it three times a day. 90% of the time I sleep without the restless legs. The other times I am fighting the dreaded ache, feeling of muscles moving—— ( there not moving ), to the point I still have to get out of bed and walk. In five years the dose has stayed the same but it increase from one to three times a day. I have a lot of room for adjustment if down the road it is necessary. It works for me. The cause—— Wish someone would know. It just afflicts some people and I am a “some”. The only injury I had was on a 25 mile bike run and fell off the bike on left leg and that was over 30 years ago. Still unknown if that could have precipitated RLS. Talk to your doctor and see if it is right for you? Be safe.
