  1. I just put down a deposit on a cruise for Sept. 2024. I like having a hard copy cruise line brochure/catalog for my files. Will I be sent one in the mail eventually? Is AZ like Oceania and Viking with their mailings, 2-3 brochures a week? I looked for somewhere on the web site to order one but did not see any place to fill out a form for mailings. I am starting to get emails from Azamara, got the one apologizing for the big IT screwup.
  2. I'm with you, Jane. After my Sept. 2 Sirena cruise that had 4 ports where the time was changed I won't be booking anymore on oceania until they get their act together. I booked with Azamara for a Sept. 2024 Croatia intensive cruise for this reason. Azamara spends hours longer in each port than Oceania does.
  3. Maybe you would have recourse from your credit card company to dispute the charge for the overland portion.O Oceania sold you a product that they won't deliver on so you should be able to get your money back on that portion of the charges. Also, go to your state's attorney general office to file a complaint for shoddy business practices.

I will monitor my booking for price drops, so far it is not on any of the sales. But it is not until Sept. 2024.

How come you cancelled? Those 2 B2B cruises sounded great plus you got a very good deal.

I got the email, I just booked last week for a cruise in Sept. 2024. I am a new customer, trying AZ from being a regular Oceania cruiser. My current booked cruise is not in my online account. So you are not missing being reassured because what AZ said would happen did not.
  7. If you ever want to go on safari in Africa, you can talk to me. I'm leaving in a month for my 4th safari, this will be in Botswana. Prior safaris were in South Africa, Tanzania, and Namibia. Each country is a separate trip. I have another planned for Jan. 2024, this will be Uganda. I also want to visit Mozambique and Madagascar, but not from a cruise ship stop.
  8. The Travel Guard annual policy would cost me $518. I get trip cancellation/interuption coverage from my credit card, $10,000 max per trip. TG gives $2500 max per trip, Allianz gives $2000 max per year. All of my trips cost way more than the allowable max on the annual policies. GeoBlue has the most coverage for medical expenses incurred while traveling, $1M for me, $100K for hubby due to age. The other 2 have $50k emergency medical per trip.
  9. sofietucker: you seem to have a lot of bad luck with cruises😉 Are your Allianz policies for each different cruise or an annual policy?
  10. I'm getting ready to buy an annual policy, comparing Allianz AllTrips Premier and Geo Blue Trekker Choice. Within the year of my policy will be 2 safaris in Africa and one cruise on Oceania. Based on our ages, the geo Blue annual is $460.00 for 2, the Allianz is $485. Both have the same med evacuation coverage of $500K, the main reason I am buying it for. Geo Blue has much more medical expense coverage than Allianz. I do not see anything in the Allianz policy that reimburses for a missed port. I will wait to buy the insurance a few days before I leave for Botswana on May 11 so I get the most time insured from an annual policy.
  11. When booking airline tickets far out there are likely to be several changes that will allow you to make changes to your flights and tickets. If you get one of these notices, research what flight you want to change to rather than asking the airline for alternatives. They almost always will make the change you want. be ready to give them this information when you call or use twitter.
  12. Is this an Azamara thing in Japan only? I haven't needed covid test to board a cruise anywhere in over a year.
  13. There is no more covid testing to enter Japan.
  14. the more ports the better: I visited Myanmar in 2018 as a private land tour. I used a local company Myanmar Shalom to put our trip together. We flew into Yangon, then flew to Bagan, Mandalay, and Inle Lake, then back to Yangon. Fascinating trip. I'm glad I got there when I could as I doubt we'll ever be able to go back. Myanmar Shalom is still in business so maybe one day you can just go there without the cruise. Interestingly, I looked at the TA forum for Myanmar, apparently some tourists are going there. There's a lot of paperwork requirements for the visa, covid testing, vaccine requirements. Sounds like a real PITA.
  15. How would anyone know you went to Myanmar unless you told them? You must have some sort of job that requires a US State department security clearance. Can't you just stay on the ship? travel insurance should cover civil war. I was stuck in Thailand during a civil war and couldn't fly out for 7 days. My travel insurance covered all our extra expenses. I had to do battle with the insurance company and turn it over to my state attorney general, but I did get a refund.
  16. Does Azamara tend to have better deals the farther out you book? I am interested in a very specific cabin of which there are only 4 on the ship. My TA has a hold on it but didn't know if it would last until next Tuesday. She tried all last week to get this confirmed for me. I don't know why she couldn't put my credit card deposit in through the TA portal. All I know is she said they cut everything off yesterday afternoon at 1:00pm EST. That must have been when the big RCCL changeover happened. I went through a mock booking on the AZ web site and could book this cabin myself, but it is a lot more money due to adding in the taxes and no OBC. My TA was giving me a total of $750 OBC and quoted price included taxes. Plus this is a hosted Signature cruise with extra events and parties. If I can't get this booked I will likely go with a small ship Croatia cruise like one from this company: cruisecroatia.com. They are only 7 days long though.

My TA has been an agent for over 30 years and has much experience booking Azamara. Her agency is part of the Signature Travel Network. this message is on the signature web site. Maybe this is why she couldn't complete my booking. She will be back in the office Tuesday and hopes AZ will honor the quote I was given. There is a lot of OBC and a post cruise credit. IMPORTANT NOTICE: ALL Signature Internet Services will be offline beginning Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 7:00 am Pacific for server migration. Services may not be fully restored until Monday, April 3, 2023 at 7:00am Pacific. This includes access to SigNet, SIG Cruise Pro, Hotel Connection, APIs, Imports, Exports, Client Connection, WordPress marketing sites, EMC campaigns, Member Connect, Customize & Share functions, Client Reach, Cruise Track, and other Signature Internet related services. While the intention is to have as little disruption as possible, expect zero availability on Saturday April 1 and possibly sporadic availability on Sunday April 2.
  18. So I decided to go ahead and book an AZ cruise, It's port intensive, Croatia Sept. 8, 2024 on Pursuit. My TA got a great rate on a cat 4 outside with a total of $750 in OBC. This is a hosted consortium signature cruise with added amenities. She put a cabin on hold for me. She called AZ today with my credit card info to book it and put down my deposit. She was on hold on the phone forever and AZ shut down their computers for the day before anyone at AZ would answer the phone. They abruptly closed at 2:00pm CST in the US. My TA said the offers expired today and AZ may not honor them next week. If that's the case then I will stick with Oceania. Not a good way to do business and get new customers. Let's hope AZ gets their act together and will honor the rate and cabin my TA tried to get for me. She has been trying to book this cruise for a whole week now, told me AZ doesn't answer the phone and when they do the agents are clueless about the bookings. She says it is due to the AZ IT department and a new computer system that has everything mucked up. Oceania seems to have AZ beat when it comes to web sites and IT.

My TA has been trying to book me on Azamara for over a week. I would be a new customer coming over from Oceania. I have a price, amenities, OBC from her and Azamar, and she has a cabin on hold. AZ just shut down for the day as of 3 minutes ago so she cannot book the cabin for me. The cabin hold and promotion expired today. She hopes AZ will honor it next week due to this computer upgrade taking so long and being all screwed up. I am looking forward to my first cruise on Azamara but will return to Oceania if they cannot get it together. AZ is not making a good first impression.
  20. My cruise is Sept. 2, Canary Islands Explorer Barcelona to Lisbon on Sirena. Life Ultimate is not on it. Most categories are open including insides, outsides, and verandas. I lost 3 hours in 3 ports of time so far. Final payment is due May 2 and I expect more changes after that date when we are locked in. I just booked a cruise on Azamara for Sept. 2024 instead of on O mainly due to O's reduced times in port.
  21. No, not yet. Someone I met on the Dec. Marina cruise toured with them last April to Granada and recommended them. I have 13 people signed up from the roll call. As the first-in-groupr of the tour I am free. If 2 more people sign up my husband will be free. Sweet deal.
  22. Does Azamara have an app to use while onboard? Other lines post their schedules and menus online that you can see on your phone. Oceania does not have an app, they use the TV screen in the cabin which can be inconvenient if you are out and about and want to know what's going on.
  23. That's a big letdown We stopped in Gdansk from an NCL cruise last August and loved that city. What reason is given? for the change?
  24. I only book 2-3 star hotels. But then I only book inside and outside cabins. I can always find someplace local to eat besides McDonalds for cheap prices.
  25. I will be in Tenerife in sept. from Sirena. Can you give me the contact info of your guide/driver? I'm lining up excursions now. You can email me direct susiesan8 at gmail.com Muchas gracias.
