If price is a concern, also look at MSC. Their ship out of Port Canaveral will be doing 3,4&7 day cruises. From Miami, Magnifica will have 4 day cruises on May 27 and June 3 to Nassau and their private island, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve. They sometimes have kids sail free offers, where kids under 17 sail free in a cabin with two full fares. EM

Breakfast in Seashore MDR will be 0630-0800. Buffet 0600-0900. Everything else will be closed. They will make last call around 0930. Checked luggage will await you in the terminal and you will have to drag your carryons around. Cheer up, the ramp is all downhill to the terminal. EM

As above. If you are at a shared table, the wait staff usually waits to see if everyone will appear before taking orders. I wish they would stick to their stated policy of no one seated after 15-20 min after doors open. EM

There have been times when we had no trouble being seated with others, and not so lucky times. And traditional dining has not been the same since specialty dining restaurants began to proliferate. We have been assigned to a table for 8 and no one else shows up after the first night because they are eating elsewhere. And times when we had a table for 2 but so close to others that we might as well have been seated together. EM

Travel size or Pack’n’play. They make them up with regular sheets. EM

Some birds are very much in demand and can be sold for large amounts. Just watched a ‘to catch a smuggler’ on National Geographic last night where a man was smuggling small birds from, I think, Jamaica. Birds can also carry diseases. EM

How soon are you sailing? It will probably be the same on every ship that has it. EM

What does your family consist of? Young, old, kids? In San Juan I wander the old town and explore the forts. There is a free HoHo bus route. In the other ports I go shopping, though I may not buy anything. My first time in a port I book the basic overview tour, usually only a few hours. Look up your ports of the Ports of Call board, join your roll call and see what your fellow cruisers are planning. Consult with your family members as to what THEY want to do. If you are an extended group, remember not everyone has to do the same thing. EM

One thing that impresses me is that there have been a lot of things you could have done. But instead, you took your mother out and made sure she did and saw what she wanted , including shopping. EM

I believe you cannot change out all of the people in the cabin. At least one of the original occupants on the booking has to sail. EM

I think that show has been around for years, know I have seen it on more than one ship and not recently. Probably revamped. EM

The problem with that is MSC does not give out extra cabin keys…so that you have access to your kids cabins, etc. they expect you to sleep where you booked. EM

Then finally Viking Mars made it to Gatun Locks

The two ships were side by side at Miraflores, but Vista had to wait for her lock to fill. @BillB48they did what you said they did the other day at Pedro Miguel. With the two ships in the lock, I could see the water go down in the one lock and come up at the same time next door.
