  1. It’s also the problem that possibly things that Americans have become accustomed to are not expected by Europeans. People complain they want to move their cruise, or their cabin, add people, subtract people, get a price drop. Maybe MSC expects people to book what they want, and live with it. Know what you want before you book. EM
  2. There may have been a time when that soap dish served as an ashtray. Not sure when MSC stopped allowing smoking in cabins, but sometimes features remain in a build even though no longer needed…EM
  3. Lots of suggestions for transport between MCO and MSC on the Florida Departures board. EM
  4. Did you not have cellphones to keep in contact with your friend? If not, why not? EM
  5. Walk every staircase enjoying the art in the landings. EM
  6. You should be asking this on the NCL board here. EM
  7. The one who can’t go will not get any of his fare back, even if he calls and cancels. However, the port fees and taxes will eventually be refunded. If he just no-shows guest #1 will not have to pay extra. BUt if #2. CAlls and cancels #1 might be hit with single supplement, even if #2 doesn’t get a refund. Does #2 have insurance that might cover the reason for canceling? Do either of them have insurance? EM
  8. No. Even if you have to change cabins, you do not need to print luggage tags. EM
  9. Apparently not much attention is paid to the randomly assigned time, which may change, also seemingly randomly. EM
  10. If you paged through them all, some were much later. But the cabin itself isn’t going to change, just the decor.
  11. I think you have your numbers scrambled. Neither of those numbers exist. Did you perhaps mean 12032 and 12532? If so, there are copious pictures of 12532 on cruisedeckplans.com. If seeing cabin pics is a priority it’s time to become a member. It’s cheap, although HC cabin pics are free to see. EM
  12. I think the 50% is if you order extra items when using your Diamond perk meal. EM
  13. Find cabin, drop off carryon watch muster video find muster station and check in find food find ice cream if you can’t yet access cabin, find ice cream. EM
  14. Go to www.cruisetimetables.com and click on ‘cruises from’ and choose Baltimore. It will tell you who is sailing and when, as long as the schedules are out. And since you are asking about NCL, you might check into the board here for NCL. EM
  15. It’s all your fault. After reading the menus, I just booked a cruise for next month. Just 5 days on Elation from JAX, but it’s just a two hour drive. I realize that on a five day rotation I won’t see many of the items on your longer Journey. EM
  16. If you booked Bella or Fantastica experience you will be assigned a time and table. I believe early are 5:15 and 7:30. It will be on your cruise card. Carefully read the welcome flyer you are given on boarding. It will tell you when and where to go to request a change of dining time. Now, if you booked Aurea experience, you have My Choice (anytime) dining in one of the MDRs. EM Below is the place you want to look if you have a problem with your dining assignment. This was from Seaside in August.
  17. I found that if you book with a travel agent, even if it one of the in house MSC concierges, you cannot pay online, you have to call. EM
  18. No formal nights on 3/4 night cruises. Based on B2B 4/3 on Seaside in August. No surf & turf on those cruises. EM
  19. Definitely warm enough in Mexico and Belize. Whether it is warm enough at Ocean Cay may depend on where you are coming from. If you are from the frozen north, you will be fine. EM
  20. I don’t think he owned the shares until after he booked. EM
  21. In 2009 I sailed Oosterdam in an OV cabin. It had a couch, but because of a post in one wall the beds couldn’t be moved all the way apart, so it was a bit crowded, even though I was solo. The beds were under the window and the night stand so deep that you really couldn’t see much out of the window. It was lean way over and have a backache. In 2010 I did a Collectors cruise on Westerdam with a friend and booked an inside gty. I got assigned K1116. OMG the space! All for me! So two years later I am cruising from Venice with my sister on another Collectors cruise. I specifically booked the same K1116, on Nieuw Amsterdam. Would book it again in a heartbeat. EM
  22. I remember all of those things…I think on Princess we got stationary in regular cabins…Started on Home Lines back in 1972 when breakfast was open seating, but both lunch and dinner were fixed seatings. No other place for food except late night pizza somewhere, and the maybe twice per cruise midnight buffet was tables of tastefully arranged cold cuts and salads on the promenade deck. Everything was cash, no credit cards or running tabs. EM
  23. It’s there on all of the cruise line boards. EM
