  1. Casino probably will not allow cigar smoking. If the Sun follows other Princess ships, which I expect it does, smoking will be allowed at a select area of slots while playing. No smoking at table games.
  2. Is your Princess contact in Southampton, UK? If so I would give them a call.
  3. I don't think you can set up when off the ship. There were instructions in the cabin. Took a few minutes. Like the previous post mentioned. Set device to airplane mode. Turn wifi back on. Select medallion net. You are done.
  4. Linked accounts have to use the same credit card. 30 drinks in a day? Excessive alcohol drinking can happen with or without an inclusive fare. It's self management. That's why bar staff do have the ability not to serve you if they see abusive behavior.
  5. If the two or more accounts are linked then there is a separate on board folio for each individual and a summary invoice. If one has a credit balance and the other a debit balance the two will off set to one total balance. This is for all on board spending. I don't believe there is a way to link the plus or premier benefits together right now. They are individual. If one person has 20 alcoholic and the other five you really have to manually manage this situation.
  6. Just off the Ruby, 24 days b2b. As elite I receive free laundry. The total cost for one person was $163. Princess charges your account and then credits you back so you can see the charges. I also sent in a bunch of laundry late in the cruise, about $50 worth, so that I would have clean clothing when I returned home. That's something I would not do if I was actually paying. I think the cost may be something that can be budgeted. Three plus weeks around $150/pp does not seem like a super large amount if you really don't wish to do your own. Elite laundry turn around time varies by the number of elites on board. On this cruise turn around time was 48 hours. I have seen it up to 72 hours.
  7. I have never seen a bag of laundry special on any of my almost 50 Princess cruises. Laundry service is by the piece. All Princess ships have self service laundromats on each deck. It is $3 wash $3 dry. Tokens available in the vending machine purchased with your medallion. You can also purchase detergent and dryer sheets, but many bring their own. Those with elite loyalty status and those in full suites are entitled to free laundry service.
  8. Same width on Royal Class ships. Don't know about the new Sun which has a different design.
  9. I was on the Ruby in March this year. Area on Promenade deck aft starboard remains. There were a few chairs there. Deck 16 above the Neptune's Reef pool by the Tradewinds bar. Seats, tables and some cover there. I never got up to Skywalker's so can't comment. Casino remains the same, except there are no longer smoke free evenings. Cigarette smoking at some port side slots while playing. No smoking at table games. The Speakeasy lounge is no longer there. It has been turned into an arcade. No cigar lounge anywhere on board. No smoking in any cabin or on any balcony.
  10. One more point. You post from B.C. Assume you have Canadian passport. If you have a passport from a different country you have to check those requirements.
  11. Morocco requirement: "Must have at least six months of validity at time of entry" Here it is. You need to meet this requirement when you board. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Morocco.html/
  12. I would renew your passports. Why risk it. Check the passport requirements as well as visa requirements for the countries you will be visiting. You have to first get into Italy, What are their requirements when you land at the airport? Then Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Spain again and Cape Verde Islands. Princess has to enforce all requirements of all countries. If one of those countries has visa and 6 month requirements at the time of entry then Princess will not allow you to board without meeting those requirements. You have to meet all requirements even if you do not go ashore.
  13. In Ft. Lauderdale your ship will be docked at pier 2. There are no special lines entering the terminal. Everyone goes through security with no priority. Once through security the line splits into green and blue lane. There are guides there to point you in the right direction. Blue lane passengers have to stop and pick up their medallion which takes about 5 minutes. Once upstairs, if you arrive before actual boarding, priority boarders wait in one area. Others in another area. Green lane does not mean priority. It just means that you don't have to stop to pick up your medallion, and maybe a few other paperwork issues are missing. Boarding normally begins somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00am. Once it begins it goes quickly.
  14. Probably just duplicates by some error. Medallions are not programed by cabin. They have a code that IDs the individual. The ship's computer system links the code to your cabin as well as to your folio and on board ID.
  15. Yes, Sail from Brooklyn. https://cruise.nyc/BCT-Schedule
  16. A few times I have received a small amount of OBC for a missed port in addition to the port fees. Don't expect it. It's not a standard thing.
  17. It look like your final payment isn't due until June. You probably will get a new invoice amount. If not there will be a few $$ credit on your on board account. Amount depends on the port. I have seen amounts from a few $$ to maybe $10. It's not a windfall.
  18. Yes to all your questions. OBC is posted as a credit to your onboard account. Any on board purchase, including all those in your questions, when posted to your account nets against the credit balance. It's a simple credit/debit system. Exception: If you purchase Future Cruise Deposits, FCDs, or place a deposit for a future cruise while you are on board those charges go directly to your credit card and bypass your onboard account. Thus OBC can not be used for this purpose. Regarding Crew Appreciation. My understanding is that crew appreciation is included in the fare for the Australia/NZ market. So, no additional charge. In the U.S. if you purchase the standard fare there will be a daily crew appreciation charge per person of US$16, $17 or $18 depending on cabin category. This is automatically posted daily to your account and nets against any credit balance, OBC. If you are speaking about providing additional tips to certain crew members then cash is the way to go. The accounting system automatically uses non refundable OBC first then refundable.
  19. If you are able to bring on wine at port stops, which happens a lot, and you bring that bottle to any public area such as a DR you will be charged corkage. You don't have to keep it in your cabin.
  20. Crew members, entertainers and others employed by the cruise line are not subject to the PVSA. Only passengers.
  21. Docked , not tender. It was a number of years ago, but believe we docked at Port Saguenay on the Saguenay River. There was nothing around the port area except some local vendors and some welcoming music on the dock. There was a local bus that took us to the town of Saguenay.
  22. This kind of activity is usually rolled out fleet wide maybe a few ships at a time or all at once. On the Ruby this past March I did not see it. Feel it isn't something Princess is doing right now.
