Just a word about travel insurance. I know some on here are around my age, 77, and with medical conditions travel insurance prices are rather expensive. After reading advice on this site I opened a Nationwide Flexiplus account which is £13 a month. Amongst it's benefits is worldwide travel insurance. I have activated mine and in addition to the £13 a month, £156 a year, I paid an additional £176 for myself and my wife who is 65, this includes cruise cover. Total £332. The lady who went through our medical conditions was very thorough and pleasant. I went on a comparison site and the cheapest quote, like for like was £936 !!! I didn't change my bank, just opened an additional account with Nationwide.

Different rules for Military (Defence Discount Services) OBC which can be claimed if you book a Select fare with either TA or direct.

We never cruise during school holidays, 1200 under 18s would do my head in, and I have had three kids and have eight grand children. Love them in small doses !

It's a no from me. One cruise on Balmoral was enough. Old shio, poor atmosphere, pompous passengers. I know some are fans but not for us.

My T A has informed me I will get both Military and Shareholder OBC with a P&O. I keep reading elsewhere that this is not the case, you cannot get both. Has anyone any up to date experience ? My Arvia September has been credited with both, this was credited about three months ago. I have a Azura cruise in Jan 23. Military OBC has been credited, I have not yet claimed for Shareholder OBC.

I'm looking forward to trying Princess again, our last one was over 20 years ago on the Dawn. I booked the Sky Princess when they had their half price drinks promotion for next year. £25 pppd was well worth it so we are onboard in Sep 24, 14 nights to the Med in a deluxe balcony. Will be interesting after a few P&O cruises since Covid.

Just read an article about neighbours almost in fisticuffs over a cat. A couple's cat keeps going into next doors back garden. The cat owners are outraged because their precious pussy prefers the neighbours property and ranted at him that he wasn't doing enough to discourage pussy. He was advised he must tell the cat to go home and not come back ! They have threatened to call the police and called him a cat pervert !!!!

Best wishes Michelle, I know how you are feeling. My labrador, Harvey, was only 10. We were away on holiday and returned to find a letter from the kennels informing us he had had a heart attack and passed. This was 45 years ago but I still rhink of him when I see a cream labrador. To put the icing on the cake, there was an additional vets bill included !

Along with Owls and Saints.

Terrible weather, I accept it in the winter months but July/August !!! Just thankful we have two cruise booked in the next 6 months, Arvia 17th September and Azura 5th January in a suite no less ! Told my other half to practice her Hyacinth voice !

I am sure you will get opposing views so best to read and view what each ship has to offer. Having cruised on Iona and in September on Arvia, I would choose the new girls every time. Not going to list why but let's say newer and better IMO.

We are flying to Tenerife in January, no times yet.

When I think back to the 70's and doing 12 hour shifts when I could for overtime and in the police in those days constables walked a beat, only sergeants drove, sometimes a bike ! Three children under six and on rest days my wife worked as a nurse and I looked after the kids, some rest days ! Where did we get the energy from ?

Some are happy with an inside cabin, out first dozen or so were inside. Now it's a balcony or no cruise, but others will disagree, personal choice
