  1. Friends of ours booked us a Cruise Later Deposit when they were on a September Millennium cruise, paying $200. We have in our possession a certificate that states: IMPORTANT: To secure your exclusive offer, please remember to complete your booking within 1 YEAR.
  2. You will not be in your cabin on a river cruise to the extent you are on an ocean voyage. I suggest Avalon for their amazing panorama cabins. And as Daisi posted alcoholic beverages in addition to the usual wine/beer at meals is now included at certain times. Consider that you may be “buoyed” up to other river boats which could mean your balcony vista is that of the cabin on the boat next door. When we had to cross a Uniworld boat to get to shore, I was not impressed with its decor!
  3. Our only HAL cruise too when she was brand new in 2018. We walked to her berth immediately from the EDGE. I felt like I was a time traveler back to the 1950s on the “new” Nieuw Statendam. One and done!
  4. Your 4 night cruise may not have a mellower crowd! Mast Bar for burgers is outdoors and casual. Upcharge casual restaurants are the Lawn Club Grille and Tuscan. Murano is a bit more formal. I've heard good things about the Silent Disco if the Silhouette offers that. For fun, Liars Club.
  5. I clicked to erase all notifications. When I went to the forums, I noticed that the most recent threads were no longer bolded nor were many forums, e.g. cruiselines except for Celebrity, HAL and NCL. Also the ability to "go to first unread" had vanished. Please help me return to "normal"!
  6. Now at 737. 3 from this month to be added in November. Would love a couple more 5 pointers before the end of the year!
  7. I get texts often from Celebrity, but don't recall any $100 OBC offer for signing up for them....
  8. Perhaps do some excursions or have lunch aboard the ship together. Dinner in a specialty restaurant with them is another option. Invite them to your cabin for pre-dinner drinks.
  9. Probably a good idea to keep your valuables with you rather than leave them at the dock. Things like laptops and cameras are not worth losing either by accident or possible theft. And keeping your medications with you is a must! So a small backpack or roll aboard would work well, especially since you can drop it in your cabin first thing. And don't forget that your allotted 2 bottles of wine are better off with you than in your checked luggage.
  10. So far no Paxlovid rebound for me- I finished the 5 day course Wed a.m. Due to the risks involved in taking Paxlovid, I cannot imagine it being dispensed aboard. Before I was given a prescription, my medical records were thoroughly reviewed by my PCP's nurse. Due to my unique needs, my Paxlovid regimen was just 2 pills at a time and I had to discontinue my anti-cholesterol meds during the course.
  11. We are going to try 6241 on our upcoming Silhouette cruise. We've been in 6240 on the Solstice and weren't bothered by the small boat below but it had bed by veranda and we prefer the other arrangement. We've also been in a couple of 2C cabins on S-class ships toward the stern that have larger rectangular verandas that extend over the blue roof on Deck 5. We've also been in a 2B cabin on Deck 6 starboard midship but folks gathered on the deck below in the evenings. I imagine those cabins would be worse on the port side since the smoking area is directly below them!
