Just going for the "world" dessert is enough to make it worthwhile. But we also enjoyed most of the other food too! And the experience is worth it.

Bring a hoodie and gloves. I made a fleece ear band (not professional-held together with safety pins). Kept the cold wind out of my ears.
When you are close to the glaciers it does get cold.
You can view from the inside and be warm but nothing beats being outside to hear the glaciers calve.
Layers, layers, layers!
Being up on the helipad is excellent for glacier viewing. Yes, it does get cold, but it is so awesome!!

SHRIMP ‘N STUFF !!!!
Locally family- owned and staffed, loved by local insiders!Nothing fancy….. it’s unassuming and humble.
AND VERY FRIENDLY!
Bar service also.
With 4 cancelled cruises in 2020, and none rebooked at the current time, my dh and I have taken to condo vacations on the beach in Galveston. Have done 5 so far, and each time we go here for eat in or take out. We also used them to cater our 12-member family beach vacation over the 4th of July.
EVERYTHING on the menu is fresh and delicious.
They also have breakfast on the weekends!
We love this place, and consider ourselves ‘insiders’ now too!We ate there last Feb and it was great!! Agree with you and 100% recommend!!

I kinda pictured a door opening in the ceiling and a plastic tube coming down to suck the possibly-infected passenger through pneumatic tubes into quarantine land. But your way works too.
Can also be purchased in the cruise planner ahead of time for 30% off!!

Any suggestions for the first drink onboard? I'm leaning towards the BBC 🙂
Even though you are in a colder climate, a Miami Vice always makes us happy on boarding day!!

I watch ParoDeeJay on you tube and Dee got covid on Mardi Gras, they received new protocols only on the second leg of their B2B when she got sick. So the first half of the trip (Inaugural) was just lacadaisical. They've been masked up on all subsequent videos though! And were vaxd
And they even started wearing masks towards the end of the first week onboard. Hope she is doing OK. We really enjoy their videos!

We like breweries, vineyards, and distillery tours! Does that count as factory shopping? 🤣🤣🤣🍷🍺🍹
I thought those were the ONLY options to consider!! We will have a great time next year!!

I’m trying purchase the Thrill Waterpark pass in the Cruise Planner. After I enter all requested information and click on the submit button, I encountered the following message and the payment transaction doesn’t complete.
“Error 405: Request method 'GET' not supported“Has anyone else encountered this and how did you get it resolved? I’ve cleared my cache, tried different browsers, tried different devices, tried my DW’s account, and removed and re-added the item to try again. I get the same error for all.
I just had the same thing trying to book a dining package. After 3 tries, I just called them to get it booked over the phone. 1-800-398-9819

Where do you get them?
We had ours in Anchorage and on the Alaska RR. But I am sure they can be found in many port stops as well. Great breakfast or sandwich meat!

We prefer to use cash, so no booking in advance. There was absolutely no queue to buy the tickets when we landed, and no problem to board the next vaporetto.
I'm always vary of flight delays.... even pre-Covid.
Always books refundable too... I guess it stems also from living in a "volatile" place.
Ice cream - yes....
Great! Thanks for your wonderful advice!!

When doing a Lift and Shift, how long does it take to get updated on account? Did one on Friday (went from March 2022 on Rhapsody to March 2023 on Serenade) and realize w/e followed, agent said it went through, but am anxious to see it in “print.”
You should be able to get an invoice immediately that shows the change of date, but with current pricing on that invoice. Usually in about 72 hours, they have the updated pricing with your price protection available on a new invoice that you can call and request. Sometimes that takes a little longer. Keep in mind taxes and fees will also be different on your new invoice.

Looking forward to it! I am so ready to go back to Alaska....guess we will just have to enjoy it through you! Have a reindeer sausage or 2 for us!!

Awesome.
When we were there (and we also sent there family and friends), they made a 10% reduction if you paid cash. Since we pay a lot of commissions in Israel when using foreign currency by cc, worked excellent for us, as we usually travel with some cash....
If you travel by Alilaguna Blu (highly recommended since you get a nice view of Venice by the water), there is no bridge and no stairs from the San Zaccaria stop, just 3 mins easy walk.
We ate at an restaurant just opposite the hotel entrance, pizza. It was OK (pic below). We found that almost all restaurants around St. Marco are tourist traps, so we just eat "something" to get by....
OTOH, we splurged for an excellent chestnut ice cream at Caffe Florian in the Square, for people watching. Worth doing it at least once 😁
That pizza looks awesome! And nice that is so close to hotel!
We do plan on using Alilaguna Blu....is it best to book in advance to just buy tickets at the airport upon arrival?
And a definite YES on the ice cream! I assume you mean once a day!!

We've booked a hotel near St. Marco. Preferred the Alilaguna Blu, since from the San Zaccaria stop to the hotel we didn't have to cross any bridges or climb any steps (Hotel Fontana).
There are porters on this line to help you with your baggage.
We stayed in Venice for 2 nights pre cruise, and then boarded again the Alilaguna Blu to the cruise terminal (when the cruises still sailed from Venice, that is...)

Thanks for the Hotel Fontana recommendation. Looks like a great place! Just booked it for next year. If you have dining suggestions near there, please feel free to share as well!

We will driving to the Galveston the day before our cruise and staying one night at Habor Inn. Looking for a trustworthy parking company near the cruise terminal. Within walking distance is preferable.

We are driving into Galveston & wanting to park at the pier. Is there parking there? Paid parking? Any info would be appreciated.
Galveston Cruise Parking (Where to Park): Prices, Profiles, & Map | Cruzely.com
This will give you quite a few options to look at with locations and pricing. Closest is probably the port of Galveston parking garage, pretty much across the street from terminal 1.

I brought 2 bottles on board the Adventure a couple weeks ago. Brought both to the dining room on separate nights and wasn't charged the $15 fee either time.
Thank you....nice to know it hasn't happened! I really doubt the servers want to hit us with that charge.

I just did this the other day. Called RC, waited a couple of minutes on hold, got a rep and got the price drop easily. Because mine was after final payment I got it in OBC ($448 - yippee!).
Have you gotten your new statement or did your OBC show up in cruise planner yet? We had similar drop about a week ago, and were told it would take 7 to 14 to show up. Some things are available in the cruise planner that we would like to book now. Thanks!
