Not today. We go there regularly. The staff have never seen him there. Perhaps he wears a false beard. -

Cricket is our favourite Warners. It's about 5-6 miles from Crewkerne Station. We haven't arrived that way, but I would suggest booking a taxi in advance would be a good idea. Meals are breakfast and dinner. Lunch in the old house, or in the main complex. All pretty good, a mix of buffet and table service. Apart from the ' brought in ' entertainment, the house entertainers are....entertaining . Grounds are nice and any excursions will include transport. We have stayed there half a dozen times. If they are getting on a bit, the walled garden area is a bit of a trek to the restaurant and entertainment theatre. We will be there again in February, unless Azura temps us again. -
I worked for a very large company from over here, that was doing quite well over there. I heard a story that on a trip on concorde a young turk was telling the elderly gent how his company had sent him to New York to look over a target. He was on the up, a rising star, near the top of the ladder. The stewardess came up and said to the old gent " would you like another drink Lord Hanson ?."

Some folk seem to enjoy having loud phone calls. Look how important I am. The bloke sat next to me in the hospital, some type of builder, took great delight in telling everybody in Surrey. Yeah just spent 2.1mill for the plot in Bournmouth. Agent told me it don't really flood, so I won't bovver wiv a survey. I'll bunk im a good drink. Everybody was so impressed that a high flying property developer was actually using the NHS. Just imagine that for 2 weeks on a cruise. Do your work from home stuff in your cabin and don't inflict it on folk trying to have a relaxing holiday. Nobody is impressed.

If you see three clever looking blokes on camels in the desert, don't follow them. -
If this trend continues, live performances will be a thing of the past. Folk could sit at home watching performances on a VDU. They could order the merch on line and if Eric and Ern go for a commercial break, you could pop to the kitchen and make a cuppa. If that's the future...no thanks..🤣. Off now to enjoy my next holiday on YouTube. Antarctica this afternoon.

Things that once were at P & O but are now… GONE!

We have thousands of photos on memory sticks and in the cloud. Many memories that I look at from time to time. Venice, dolphins, Santorini, Cornwall etc, etc. All the good things we have enjoyed together. When our traveling days are restricted, happy memories to enjoy again. Not any pictures of the cracked bathroom tile, or packet of broken biscuits. Life is far too short for that. -

Yes, your right. Difficult choices and dealing with stress make life what it is....out to lunch....where to go...what to eat....thinking about that has stressed me out nicely. Seriously, do all our holidays go without issues ?. Of course not. If we can't get the seat we want in Headliners we will sit somewhere else and arrive a few minutes earlier next time. Life throws up loads of little problems. We deal with them and move on. It's not long before all the good stuff makes them seem trivial and they pass into ancient history. I can't remember if we had a cheese wheel in 2010, but I can remember that sunset on the sailaway from Venice. -

We love our cruises and have not noticed any drop in standards, some things have changed. No turndown or chocolates, where's me canopies ? The butler didn't do it, whereas in the old days he did it all the time. All trivia that don't matter to us. Folk who enjoy everything about their holiday are somehow viewed by some as inadequate in some way. They don't know how bad things really are. How seriously poor everything is. If all is doom and gloom....I don't know why we bother Fawlty.🤣 -

We normally spend around £3500 for 2 weeks in a balcony, select fare. We dont book saver fares as we like the OBC and parking etc. The general theme of this thread was the price increases. We are still spending the same amount as well before lockdown. 2016 ish. Prices may well rise at some point, but we haven’t found that yet. Last year we paid £3,300 for a select balcony on Britannia in early October. That's about the same as next April in Arvia. Next year we have an extra £400 OBC, so effectively about 10% cheaper. Folk will pay what they are comfortable with. -

They are around John. Ours, K409, 2weeks to the med on Arvia at the end of April is £2600 for a saver balcony, £1300 pp. We paid a bit more as we booked select and got £560 OBC. -

To me, it doesn't matter what Mr Ludlow and his colleagues say. They have an interest to talk prices up. We have booked 1 on Arvia for £94 pppn in a balcony. We are quite happy with that. We are watching RC, X and NCL. If they have sensible prices we may book one of theirs for later in the year, or may book another P&O. If they do manage to get the prices they want then good luck to them. Like you we have a price we consider acceptable. If we can't get that, there are alternatives. We have booked a lodge in Cornwall for July. Perhaps for us a flyaway. Interesting times.
