  1. YES! Plus a generous slice of lime.
  2. If you made a $100 pp deposit, yes, you would be out $200. But if your deposit was $25 pp (the current offer), you would only be out $50, as @CDNPolar stated.
  3. Cellular at Sea calls are very expensive. Assuming your phone supports it, put your phone in airplane mode and turn on WiFi calling using the ship's WiFi when at not in port. When you make a phone call to the US with WiFi calling, it treated as a domestic call according to your regular domestic plan. When in a US port, just use your regular plan. Check your plan's coverage if you call from a Canadian port. Whether Canada is included or not depends on your plan's details.
  4. I didn't so, but I do know for sure. It an image from a CC post, called Insignia cabin questions By JFontaine, February 18, 2023 in Oceania Cruises
  5. Here's a post that shows a PH bathroom on an R ship: For comparison, here's a post that shows a Veranda bathroom on the same R ship:
  6. Nice and balanced review. Thanks. ๐Ÿ‘ Glad you enjoyed the cruise.
  7. I think your analysis is founded in anecdotal reports of a small minority who post on CC and not on any factual data. A. I've had reservations in specialties when that were only a very few tables were vacant within 15 minutes of seating. And if there are a few vacancies, I'm aware that restaurants try to stagger reservations so that the kitchen and service staff are not overwhelmed at a single seating time, . B. What is meant by difficult to get a reservation on line? Do that mean you can't get a reservation,or that you can't get a reservation at the specific time or a specific night and only for a two top? Is there availability on other nights or times with or without sharing, but what's available doesn't suit the specific desires? C. What is meant by available reservations once onboard. Are there always two tops available at the time and day one wants or does it mean there are various times and days potentially available with sharing if one is flexible. Not everything that is done is conspirital; sometimes it just practical. And yes, folks who pay more may get an edge in treatment, but not to the extreme you suggest. BTW..on a different topic: Have you eaten in Ember?
  8. I'm curious to see what happens after July. I thought that the California Law said that the listed price had to include all fees, but I don't remember if it says they have to be broken out in addition. If they don't have to be broken out, the law won't affect O.
  9. I don't know the answer if you book directly with O, but with our TA, you can make incremental payments anytime. Call O and ask directly.
  10. Whatever floats your steak...uh, I mean boat. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Laundry

Yes. One. I think it's on Deck 7, but you can look on line at the deck plans for the Insignia to confirm it.
  12. Our experience is they discourage ordering from two different restaurants for the same meal. Interested in others' experiences. Some reaturants share the same kitchen and perhaps that is an exception.
  13. You really shouldn't assume that those of us who enjoy fancy and exotic foods don't also enjoy the outstanding cheeseburger or filet. For us, it's not a case of either/or, but it's that we like the broader experiences. To each his own.
  14. With statements like: "- if space is available. I donโ€™t want to go on a 2 week cruise assuming we can get additional nights in the steak restaurant when that is a maybe." "For me heaven is breakfast at Denny's, lunch at Fuddruckers, and dinner at Ruth's Chris' Steak House. I've never liked fancy or weird foods." the OP is setting himself up for a major disappointment if he books O.
  15. @CaptainCook808: @Flatbush Flyer gave the details; the limitation on number of reservations at specialty restaurants applies only to online bookings in advance. Once on board you can request more, some available.

    Laundry

3 bags per cabin, 20 pieces per bag (a pair of socks counts as one piece), folded, not ironed. 3 days turn around promised, but we've gotten them back in 1 to 2 days, depending on how full the ship is and how busy they are. Free self service laundry including ocean friendly detergent with multiple washers and dryers on many decks. Ironing boards and iron in each laundry room.
  17. Our TA just added O's Southampton to LHR transfer to our invoice for our August cruise at $79. pp.
  18. Does a stuffed turkey count as a little stuffed animal...I don't mean an annoying table mate who overeats.
  19. Others have summarized how one might get upgraded, but in answer to this specific question: No, O does not offer upgrade bidding.
  20. $10,000 pp per trip, max of $20,000 per trip, max of $40,000 total per year.
  21. Like @basor said. Australian pricing includes gratuities. US pricing does not.
  22. I'm so sorry this happend to you. But, yes, it's a good idea to get the pre-existing waiver on travel policies, if you've had any problems in the past that could re-appear, even after it has been "cured." And, you should know that, if offered, the waiver usually does not cost any extra; it's just you have to buy your insurance policy within a set number of days of making your deposit. The number of days vary with company. And with many (most?) you don't have to insure the entire trip when you initially purchase the policy. Just insure the deposit, then increase the amount covered when you do your final trip payment or add any non-refundable payments (e.g. airfare). Best yet, talk with an agent at a broker company and compare prices. Using a broker does not add any cost and can answer specific question about company policies.
