To be fair, I've never given a hoot about any of the cruise ship captains and I'm married to a man who is retired Navy, didn't care about his captains when on sea duty either 🤪 It was a sailing just like any other with any other captain, imo. It's great to see a female captain in 2023 but Beyond that, (pun inteneded 😉) She navigated a ship and kept us afloat. No disrespect for her accomplishments, just curious. Patty

The ship is very nice but I personally like to get to the beach, listen to the ocean and feel the sand! My husband will absolutely spend money on the fun things CocoCay has to offer and he'll pay for Specialty Dining to enjoy a good burger, I am beginning to think I am married to a 12 year old. 😁 Patty

Yep! 😊 I also feel they are seeking more LGBT which is also typically no children My son and his partner are 34 yrs old + making great money = a perfect fit for Celebrity and CocoCay. I see that Celebrity is reaching/aiming for younger not 'young" Patty

Zitsky we are cool and you know I love your humor but on this topic I really don't follow? What countries are being pulled for CocoCay? I see people post daily that they don't want Jamaica, Grand Cayman or Nassau? So at this point, in the Caribbean, what do we want that is within a reasonable distance from Florida for a 4-7 day cruise? I understand many are concerned that this is a slippery slope to RCCL world... but sadly I believe it's inevitable. We have few choices, adapt/adjust or sail elsewhere or stop sailing. For me.... a private island it an easy port to avoid or make the best of... Patty

Yea sadly it's pretty bad... caused me to go book a few more specialty restaurants for my upcoming sailings. I was actually hopeful the burger would be a good option compared to Turkey Parmesan. This Italian from Jersey just can't... 😝 Love Cel and am on board for some of the changes but the MDR menu cuts are not doing it for me! Patty

Labadee is amazing! It's a private port we enjoy far more than many of the other islands in the Caribbean. Many cruisers from the north who sail in Jan/Feb are really only looking for fun & sun! My hubby and I look to the ships as AI sailing so private islands are an added bonus. Patty

I'm absolutely fine with a port stop in CocoCay. From the other Social Media sites that I've glanced over, the positive posts are a large majority. I don't equate The New Celebrity to elegance, personally I see bartenders standing on counters and Silent Discos equate to the same vibe as a private islands full of fun. My hubby would have a blast and I'd get a great tan. What I am not absolutely fine with is the way Cel handled this for those pax who were already booked on Beyond for 2024. Patty

Also adding.... if true, as many suspect that ~X~ is looking to gain younger cruisers, they lack the vacation days from work compared to retirees or those with long employment status. With a 4 day cruise plus travel on the front and back end and a pre cruise hotel stay for assurance of flight issues, they're at a full week off from work. Patty

Agree! I am on Beyond this Aug in Europe and I've lost count of all the price drops that I've received. I truly believe I am getting to the Gk Isles for a steal and that's unheard of with todays economy. Patty

I had an AMS & Paris trip planned for Sept 2024. My friend sent me the link with dates of The Olympics and even though they'd be technically over that trip quickly became a distant far off plan for...ONE DAY! The ABC's and Beyond is a great way to spend your bday! Patty
