  1. We used Stefano's Rome Cabs last year for a transfer from our hotel in Rome to the port of Civitavecchia for our Oceania cruise. Highly recommend them. Think it cost about 150 Euros. More expensive than the train or a cab but sure made it easier with no stress.
  2. Thanks for the advice from those of us considering a future cruise on The Vista.
  3. Not an expert on either cruise line but felt they are about the same. Norwegian seems to be a bit more laid back than Princess. Food and service about the same. On the Norwegian Breakaway some of the specialty restaurants have outside dining which we really enjoyed. Of course, we had nice weather. You can purchase additional specialty dining before the cruise and would be cheaper than if you bought it onboard. We enjoyed a "club balcony suite" (I think that is what it is called) Not a suite but has bigger bathroom and balcony. You also get to make dining reservations 5 days before the rest of the ship which helps.
  4. I prefer to board late. No lines and much calmer.
  5. Same thing has happened to us many times on other cruise lines. Were seated at a 2 top........but were inches away from tables on either side. Fortunately, the people seated next to us were good tablemates and we enjoyed their company. Luck of the draw.
  6. Not looking specifically at Oceania, but would be my first choice. Not sure if we want to go on a small ship like you did but maybe I am wrong. Do not want to go on a "big" ship. Itinerary will be the deciding factor. Your thoughts and suggestions would be welcomed.
  7. Anyway.................. I am looking forward to finding a cruise on Oceania to The Fjords in the next few years. Might be that another line may have a better itinerary. We shall see. Am sure many options are going to become available as the restrictions have been lifted for a few years.
  8. "You handle an issue before it happens so it never happens to you". Great advice for the buffet on a ship.....or life in general.
  9. "For large ships the implementation is delayed until January 1, 2032". There will be many "large ships" adding cruises to this part of the world. You are correct... times have changed.
  10. The country of Norway has recently reversed their policy of preventing ships from entering their fjords that did not meet environmental standards from 2026 to 2032. Hopefully, Oceania will schedule some cruises to take advantage of this. Look forward to making reservations.
  11. We have only sailed on The Riviera and had absolutely no noise from anywhere. Do not think we want to sail on The Vista for the noise reason.
  12. Sounds like a great idea. Never been there but hate the crowds onboard that first day.
  13. We were on The Riviera about a year ago in the Mediterranean/Italy area. Had no trouble with what we were trying to do which was mainly checking email, Facebook, etc. Was not any different than being at home.
  14. Seriously considering booking a cruise on The Star Pride next June to Norway. Is there music, guitar player, around? Not looking for much and realize this is a small ship. But..curious.
  15. Thanks to all for the information. Was not aware that Oceania might not be able to go to Norway after next year. May have to change plans.
  16. This may have been posted before, if so, apologize for asking it again. When will Oceania announce 2026 schedules? Mainly looking for Norway fjords cruises. Thank you.
  17. Thank you for the information. In the future will always ask about wine tasting events.
  18. Sounds great. Also sounds like you have to be lucky to even hear about it. Sounds like news of the event is spread by word of mouth???
  19. If leaving from New Orleans (dock is adjacent to The French Quarter) there are hundreds of great restaurants within walking distance from the ship. Lunch on land will be the best meal of your cruise. Bonus would be the lines are much shorter to board the ship.
  20. Looking forward to your report of your upcoming Windstar cruise. We are planning our first Windstar cruise in June 2025. Oceania will be hard to top, especially as far as food.
  21. Some cruises that I have been looking at for 2025 at Norwegian as well as other lines, have already booked the cabins I was interested in. I do not think prices will go down. If you see something you like, place a deposit. Can always cancel.
  22. Wish I could comment on these cabins.............but have never been able to find one available. Maybe one day.
