  1. We too did the Chef’s table on Sky on two separate cruises. The food was excellent but the down side was the menu did not change! In fact the menu above b is practically identical to the ones we had previously. Just a thing to bear in mind if you plan to repeat thev3xperience.
  2. From Princess FB page - Our newest specialty restaurant concept, The Catch by Rudi, takes seafood to the next level. 🍽️🦞 From reimagined classic dishes to signature seafood inventions, Chef Rudi has created a menu that will appeal to every taste and appetite. Experience it aboard #EnchantedPrincess debuting April 15, and coming soon to #MajesticPrincess, #SkyPrincess, and #DiscoveryPrincess!
  3. Definitely available last week on Sky. On the plus package so cannot tell you who the wine was made by. I had it in MDR and Crown Grill.
  4. Not sure why but Captain Marco told us that this was the reason why she will be in drydock for three weeks.
  5. The seafood restaurant refit was direct from food and beverage manager at the suite guests Captains reception last cruise! They are also going to be doing work on the buffet.
  6. The principal reason for the drydock is to fit a bubble system to the hull. This blows tiny bubbles out of the hull and is suppose to reduce friction an make the ship faster and more economical https://www.marineinsight.com/green-shipping/how-air-lubrication-system-for-ships-work/
  7. Sorry to burst your bubble but it is going to be a seafood restauant possible called The Catch.
  8. This is wrong! Carnivals Corp is the parent company. Each cruise line has its own Board and Officers. Each company is separately located - Princess in Santa Clarita, P&O and Cunard in the U.K., and Carnival Cruise Line in Miami. Each company is responsible for their itineraries, crewing down to menus etc. Of course major decisions like purchase of new ships etc will involve the holding company Carnival Corp. The fact that they are separately run companies is probably why there was a difference in the decisions taken by the Sky Princess and the Iona.
  9. I know where you live which is clear from your post. I just thought you would have known better! Have a pleasant cruise.
  10. You are correct - we were never unsafe because the Master took the appropriate action, As to this being only a gale … A gale that prevented an Aida ship calling at Southampton because the pilot could not board! A gale that produce 69 mile gusts around the Isle of Wight this morning! A gale that produced 30 ft swells in the Bay Of Biscay yesterday. A gale that is wreaking havoc across the U.K. with torrential rain. I do hope the pilot can board the Iona tomorrow and that you do not experience a “gale” on your cruise.
  11. As one of those on board who saved and sacrificed I am only too pleased that the master and head office made every effort to keep me safe! To seek compensation in the circumstances is mind bogglingly greedy! PS there was plenty of time to spend the OBC
  12. I was on Sky for this cruise and disembarked this morning. I believe that, as soon as Captain Marco mentioned compensation as a gesture of good will, some believed this would be a substantial FCC. Hence the disappointment of some of the passengers when the $100 per person compensation was announced. I settled my bill this morning and there was no sign of enhanced port charges for the extended stay in Southampton.
  13. On Sky now - sadly had little to no internet for the last three days. Now back again but Princess have given one day refund.
  14. On Sky at the moment and have noticed a vast improvement in the MDR meals at the same time a deterioration in the quality of the food in The Crown Grill. Disappointing given the recent price increase. The Italian evening in the buffet was excellent with risotto and pasta being made to order.
  15. Incorrect. Five Skies is scheduled for our current transatlantic. It was scheduled for our 11th March Caribbean but they had problems with the backing track which was replaced in Miami yesterday.
  16. It may have something to do with staffing. If there is a staff shortage they will list the cruise as not available until the staff/passenger ratio is adequate.
  17. I think you are comparing apples and oranges here. The OP asked what the cruise line paid out which I different from what the travel insurance company will pay out if insured.
  18. This may be way off topic now but the original poster asked for details of how much the drinks now cost. Can anyone advise what the increases are post 20th February?
  19. If you are doing a B2B it will show as one cruise.
  20. In October at the officers meet and greet we were advised that a third show was be8n introduced in February!! Nothing yet??
  21. Somebody may be confusing the new premiere package which includes reserved seating for production shows.
  22. Don’t know what cruise you are going on but European cruises are later 8 or 8:15 and 10 or 10:15.
  23. I love the way Ross Hunter is presented as a guest singer! He has been on every cruise we have been on Sky Princess before and after lockdown! Nevertheless he is talented and his stand alone show is very good!
  24. It semantics. Yes the balcony may be “useable at all times” but given the wind generated by a ship moving at 18 - 20 knots I doubt you would want to use it whilst at sea.
