  1. That's all well and good Tom. I'll NEVER! ever take another Princess shuttle from Sea-Tac to Pier 91 again NEVER!! and I'll never recommend to anyone to take the Princess shuttle. The people who work for SES are some of the stupidest people I've ever met.
  2. A few cruises ago my wife and I were sitting out on our balcony at pier 91. We saw a lot of people walking on the Gilman trail, it runs along the waterfront from downtown. At dinner that night I was talking to our table mates and they told me they walked from Westlake Center to Pier 91, it's about 3 miles. neither of them were in very good shape to be walking 3 miles, dragging there bags. I think I'd take the link to Waestlake Center and then catch the bus out to Pier 91, a lot of people do that. The stairs on the Magnolia bridge aren't all that bad. You can also get off the bus on Elliott Ave and go across the the street and up the walk way to the Galer street flyover. Look at Google maps it shows the complete route.
  3. On Sunday June 26th we sailed on the Discovery Princess. We decided to have our DIL drop us off at Sea-Tac and catch the Princess transfer from Sea-Tac to Pier 91. HUGE MISTAKE!!!! Our DIL dropped us off at Sea-Tac at 9:40 am. We found the line to hand off our bags to the Princess rep. That line had about 150 people in it. After we dropped our bags off we got a slip of paper that told us where to go to get a ticket to get on the bus to the Pier. So we meander into the dark recesses of the parking garage. We find the line to get a ticket to get on the bus to the pier, it only had about 250 people in this line. After we got our ticket to get on the bus we got into a large group of people, probably 300 or so and increasing by the minute. There was no directions, no bathrooms, no water, not very many places to sit and it was hotter than hell there. Everyone was getting a little pissed off by now. I asked a staffer where the nearest bathroom was and she looked at me and said “I don’t know I think there is one in the terminal”. Every once and awhile a bus would come and take away 52 people and 75 more would show up. After 2-1/2 hours we got on the bus to Pier 91. When we arrived at Pier 91 at 12:50 pm after getting off the bus there was no direction from anyone from Princess. There was a line from the front of the terminal back out to the end of the covered walk way and back to the terminal, this covered walkway is about 100 yards long. So we walk into the terminal looking for the Elite line and get in a line, I didn’t know if it was the right line, no one said anything. The line moved along rather slowly and we got up to one of the 4 or 5 persons who were checking passports and COVID tests. Once we got upstairs and went through security there was another line to check our medallions. By now it’s 1:50 pm and I’m tired and hungry, I tell my wife let’s get a pizza at GiGi’s, nope it’s not open. Internet is a joke, it barley works. No Crown Royal whiskey, no Kahlua and no Baileys Irish cream, it seems each bar only get 2 bottles a week of Kahlua and Baileys. We went to GiGi’s once for lunch, we weren’t impressed. The ice cream that they make on the ship they use shelf stable UHT milk and it has an off taste. A cold glass of milk is nasty. We enjoyed the shows and the piano guy at Crooners Bar. We were very careful about who we were around but I still came down with a mild case of COVID on the last day of the cruise. The dine my way thing worked out really well. The key is to have reservations, if don't have reservations you might have to wait for a while to get a table. We had a 5:20 dinner time in the Ketchikan MDR, same table and wait staff every night. The crew and staff work really hard to make it a good cruise. They were 2285 first time cruisers on this cruise, I wonder how many will ever return for another cruise. Cruising is certainly different now than it was pre-COVID. It seems like the flash in the pan is gone.
  4. I e-mailed the higher ups at Princess yesterday concerning my problem with my vanishing Future cruise credit deposits. Lets see how long it takes for them to respond.
  5. My DW and I lost all of our COVID FCC along with 2 future cruise deposits, just vanished from our account. I've spent hours on the phone trying to get it straighten out, what a flipp'n mess.
  6. Not on the Discovery, no machine, you have to stand in line and ask for a printout. We got off the Discovery on July 3rd, still no statement. I would have gone down to GS but I was sick as a dog the last 2 days of this cruise.
  7. No, it's not required to wear a mask. But it is suggested. We got off the Discovery on July 3rd and I think it was less than 2% of those cruising wore a mask. The entire crew wore a mask at all times.
  8. Our DIL is a flight attendant and said she could give us a ride up to Sea-Tac as she had a flight on Sunday morning. I was under the impression that the Medallion app was suppose to speed up the boarding process, it was terribly slow. It been a long time since I've seen such a flipp'n mess.
  9. I'll never do a Princess transfer again. I'd go with Seattle Express if I were staying at a hotel. Next time, if there is a next time I'll drive to Pier 91 and park at Seattle Cruise ship parking at the Armory.
  10. It wasn't bad going from Pier 91 back the Sea-Tac. We got off the ship about 8:15 and we were at the airport by 9am.
  11. i really enjoyed chatting with Ombud on our last cruise. I think we hit most of the topics, LOL. I hope we meet again on another cruise.

  13. Last week the Discovery at almost 95% capacity, there were 2285 first timer cruisers, 145 Elites and the rest were Platinum, Ruby and Gold. I wonder how many of the 2285 first timer cruisers will ever come back to cruise Princess again?
  14. We just came off the Discovery on Sunday. We ate at 6:20 in the Ketchikan dinning room. There was 2 line those with reservations and a line for those who didn't have reservations. We had reservations and got right in. After dinner I asked the hostess if we could change our dinner reservation to a earlier time, she said no problem will 5:20 work. The next evening at 5:20 we showed up there was a long line waiting to get in, we walked by everyone and were escorted to our new table, by the a window in the corner, we had that table for the rest of the week. Our waiter told me that they have a couple of 19 coming in at 6pm in that section so we had the section to ourselves. We were done with dinner by 6pm every night. The key is to make reservations and check your reservations once you get on the ship, a few people we ran into there dinner reservation time changed.
  15. Last week the Discovery was at 90% capacity with 2285 first cruisers onboard. There were only 145 elites onboard. The second night we changed our dinner time to 5:20 and walked by the Take 5 on our way to dinner and there was a pretty good number of people there. I like to go there for the nice snacks.
  16. Just off the Discovery Princess on Sunday. On Saturday morning I didn't feel very well, running nose, a bit of a cough. By mid day I really felt bad so I tested myself with one of the kits I bought onboard. Sure enough, I tested positive, my wife tested negative. I stayed in the cabin the rest of the cruise. My wife went up to the buffet to get me something to eat, room service didn't work on the medallion ap or the TV, neither did trying to call room service. We've had all of our COVID shots and boosters and take all the recommend vitamins to help prevent COVID. Today I feel really bad, can't smell or taste anything, weak, and have brain fog.
  17. I'm in the same boat. We lost 2 FCC's that were applied to our booking long after the cruise was paid for. They say they were applied to XYZA sailing along with our goodwill credit. Now the fight is on to get those FCC reinstated back to our account.
  18. Last week on the Discovery it was at the "Take 5" lounge. I think there was about 10 people there on the day we went there.
  19. We just got off the Discovery on Sunday. The walk off group started walking off with there luggage at around 07:20. If you don't walk off with your luggage you'll be assigned a group to disembark. We were in group "Light blue 1" and we disembarked at around 08:05 and were at Sea-Tac airport at around 09:00. It was a pretty quick disembarkation. For breakfast we went to the buffet the night before and got a few things so we could make a light breakfast and not have to fight the crowd at the buffet, the buffet and the MDR opened for breakfast at 06:30.
  20. We are elite and just got off the Discovery on Sunday, no upgraded bathroom amenities. Didn't ask for any either. I bring my own bar soap, I don't care for there pump shower gel or hair conditioner.
  21. We are currently on the Discovery and I feel the internet isn't worth the price. We have the Plus package, the internet is worse than the old days of 56k dialup. IT IS SO SLOW!!!
  22. Thanks. That's pretty much what it normally is. The Skagway is on Deck 6 Fiesta. On the Majestic that dining room is called the Concerto.
  23. Does anyone know which or if any of the MDR will be open on embarkation day for lunch? We like to start off the cruise with nice relaxing lunch in the MDR.
  24. The best PEL lounge I’ve ever been in is the one at San Pedro. The PEL lounge at Pier 91 is a couple office partitions with a small folding table with some rolls and coffee on it and a few chairs, at least that the way it’s been on the last 5 cruises we’ve been on out of Seattle. Everyone has to fill out the ArriveCan information and get the QR code before they cruise out of Seattle even if you’re not planning on getting off the ship in Victoria. Your cruising in Canadian waters, it there requirement. I heard that they were checking for ArriveCan QR codes at Pier 91 and those who didn’t have it weren’t allowed into the terminal building. I look at it as just being part of the game.
