  1. First of all the issues in Haiti have no impact on anything in Jamaica. That being said, I would not wander far off on my own in Jamaica but feel quite comfortable with ship based and local resort based excursions. Have been there many times docked at Ocho Rios, Falmouth, and Montego Bay. We were at Jamaica docked in Falmouth in January and did an AI day pass at a resort 20 minutes away by way of their shuttle and felt perfectly safe and would do so again without concern.
  2. Note that I am saying this is some years ago, but we have done bridge tours before as a C&A perk as well. Certainly things can and likely have changed as much has post-pandemic. Have not seen it offered on our recent cruises.
  3. OK then I would stand corrected. Not something I would want them to do, however.
  4. OK then, with the correction to the time the staterooms may be open open made, your luggage still had to fit through the scanners and to my understanding that typically would restrict large sized luggage, correct? That was the caveat I was making.
  5. Subject to its size fitting through the scanners at security as correctly pointed out by @Mr. Click. Typically that would limit that which can be brought on to airline size carry on to mid size luggage. And as the staterooms don't typically open to passengers until 1:00 PM, if you are checking in early you would have to keep your luggage with you until then.
  6. Never a pleasant experience and certainly hope all is OK with the passenger. Have seen dolphins as well on that return leg in the past.
  7. I don't believe the 2025 summer itinerary's pricing has been finalized and Reflection among that. I understand it should be released next week.
  8. We purchase the dining packages in different options frequently and in our experience purchasing them in advance through the planner has provided the best pricing. Once purchased, you can also watch to see if the price moves lower, and if so, you can cancel and rebook without penalty to get the better price. Check the published individual restaurant pricing to compare to the average combined price per the option you choose to see the plan value. Typically that pricing is close to the lowest specialty fees and measurably lower than the highest usually making the deal better than if you purchased each separately. As Izumi is a la carte, we don't include that restaurant as part of our selection as in our experience, the fee credit allowed is often higher than the a al carte purchases would be and is better placed on the more expensive venues where there would be greater value. We do, however, eat there a la carte. While there can be on board specials and you can also find maître d's who will offer attractive pricing, in particular on repeat visits, in our experience this has not been consistently as attractive as the pre sailing pricing through the planner and is also hit and miss with being offered. The planner will provide a placeholder reservation for one restaurant typically for the first night once you purchase the plan and you cannot make individual reservations in advance through the planner. However, once you board if you go to any of the specialty restaurants the maître d can schedule all of the restaurants for you, including rearranging the first night placeholder, in a matter of ten minutes or so. We typically go the the placeholder restaurant since that is where our "reservation" for the first night will be, but any specialty restaurant can provide the scheduling for you. The galley tour you reference would likely be a separate purchase and in our experience is not typically part of any dining package. That, too, may be hit or miss in being offered. You don't say which ship you are on, but typically your 12 night cruise is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the offered dining packages. However the restaurant choices vary by ship with some are more limited in the variety and number of options than others. I think this can play a part in which option you would choose.
  9. To highlight a comment you made, in the past if we've had issues with the app we switch to our tablet or computer and that has worked. Sometimes the phone app can get glitchy. But from all the responses this seems like maybe a website issue.
  10. RCCL and NCL's primary demographic focus is families, and their ships are designed with venues specifically oriented towards that demographic. Disney is the pricier of those lines, primarily as they don't have casinos on board, which is a significant revenue generator for cruise lines. I would suggest looking at the ships and their offerings closely on their websites to make comparisons and also talk with a travel agent who can bring that into focus with you.
  11. Not any less common than a beer, or a Truly, or a cocktail, or an empty glass on its way for a refill..........
  12. I understand. I think we are basically saying the same thing. Your links show the ship's itineraries and release dates which would show when pricing would be available (I am also familiar with that data), while I was saying the general timeframe(s) in which pricing is released. Yours is a more specific timeline while mine is a more general brush. I also originally thought you were saying the actual itinerary pricing was part of the link.
  13. Interesting. I did not see previously that Reflection was missing. Without doing a count, it appears as though most of the ships are listed however. And aside from Med/Europe there are regional bookings with a number of ships available in March 2026 in addition to Infinity. I would just expect that the summer Med/Europe listings would be out sooner than the fall. But 18 months is also not untypical for some regions I guess. Thanks for the info.
  14. There is no pricing with your links, just the ships release schedules. Unless I'm missing something.
  15. Unless I am missing something in what you are saying, Europe / Med is out now through early 2026. It would surprise me to have to wait until November or December for the summer to be released. That would seem late. Caribbean summer 2025 pricing is out now and has been out for quite some time. In fact all destinations pricing are out through early 2026.
  16. Excellent information and appreciate you publishing that. I was referring to the release of specific ship's itineraries and sailings pricing.
  17. Approximately, yes. Maybe a month or so ahead so that by that timeframe the schedules are out. It typically follows seasonal segments. For instance March '26 is out now. BTW we are looking for that region and timeframe as well.
  18. First, IMO the elevator bank area is typically a preferred location due to the convenience that the elevators and stairways provide. The staterooms are separated by a hallway from the area and the elevators are typically set aside as well. The staterooms are also well insulated. We often prefer that location and have never had any noise issues in that area. As to the GTY stateroom, you just need to decide the type of stateroom you prefer and select that GTY. If once the stateroom is assigned you don't like the location, you can change to any other location within the assigned sub-category based on availability. Just contact whomever you booked through and they can make those changes. We have done that before without any issue.
  19. New schedules typically are released about 24 months in advance on a seasonal basis. I would expect the timeframe to which you refer to probably be out this summer.
  20. Yes, at least with US bookings. In essence you are canceling one and creating a new booking. While at a higher fare differential, a refundable deposit allows you to change, modify, or cancel a booking without penalty. Any new booking created will be at its current fare and benefit value, but you will not loose any of your original deposit in doing so.
  21. Please see the response by @highway180 correcting me. I apparently am mistaken about this with Celebrity.
  22. Thanks for clarifying. I know it varies by cruise line and that these policies have changed over time. Apparently I am incorrect regarding this with Celebrity and appreciate the correction. I was going to suggest that they call to confirm - that seems to be the correct approach.
  23. They periodically recategorize the sub-categories in given stateroom categories for pricing purposes.
  24. I believe you both need to be on the same package(s) in order to prevent you both from sharing each one.
