  1. Does anyone know which ship do and which ships don't? I have one of those Revlon brushes and it has worked on every ship I have taken it on. I have not been on any Excel class ship yet, though.
  2. Exactly. There was a poster a few weeks ago that called the fries "disgusting" because she did not care for the seasoning.
  3. My guess is that it is going to be at least six months to a year. Major changes to menu items is a huge deal. It's not just Emeril handing Carnival some of his recipes. Approval by the beards is probably a drawn-out process. All the ingredients have to be sourced, all of the cooks and dining room staff have to be trained, all of the printed and electronic information (menus, etc.) have to be redone. And I am sure there will be a big PR campaign involved.
  4. There is definitely an additional charge for eating in the specialty dining restaurants on the Horizon.
  5. I assume she knew that once you add grenadine, it is no longer zero sugar. 😊
  6. They let our son "age up", but he was only 2 weeks away from turning 12 and he had an older sister in that group, so that might have made a difference.
  7. I sail a lot on decks 1 and 2. Personally, I like being far away from the buffet and pizza. Less tempted to pop up there for food that I don't really need to eat. Also, cove balconies are awesome.
  8. Same here! I have seen some pretty talented folks on that show!
  9. IMO, you would have to be an idiot to intentionally ignore any rule that says that you can be denied boarding or put off of the ship if you do. Rules may not be applied consistently, but that doesn't guarantee that they won't apply them to you.
  10. For all you know, that person may have just popped in the room for a bit and wasn't intending to keep it out there permanently. Scooters in the hallways are a huge safety hazard and my guess is that Carnival would get in huge trouble if they got caught allowing it. I didn't realize that it's okay to just ignore rules we don't like.
  11. Based on your post, it sounds like you have this question to answer: Who are you going to believe - the company that makes and enforces the rules or the company that is trying to sell you the scooter?
  12. When have you ever known a Carnival team member NOT to happily accept anything you hand them? It's called politeness. They would much rather have two singles. Anyone who hands out $2 bills to be "memorable" is just creating a hassle for them because they are harder to spend.
  13. The real reason is that $2 bills are so uncommon that many people don't think they are real. I wouldn't be surprised if merchants (especially those outside the US) are reluctant to accept them as well.
  14. LOL I didn't see the Bottomless Bubbles part. Thanks for the correction!
  15. Keep in mind that if you are in the same cabin, you will not be able to cancel just one drink package. It's both or nothing.
  16. Carnival used to have the same menu at every bar. They hired a beverage manager who came up with the idea that there should be specialty bars, each with their own signature drinks. Most of those drinks did not exist on Carnival before this concept was implemented. So don't think of it as "Carnival won't make any drink I want at every bar on the ship". It is "Each Carnival bar has its own unique menu". Just like a large hotel in a resort area may have several specialty bars. I don't go to the bar that has 80 beers on tap at my favorite Las Vegas hotel and expect them to make me a frozen Pina Colada just because another one of their bars serves them.
  17. I misread the question as well. I agree with the others.
  18. I am not sure that the flat rate pricing applies if you leave Miami, which would be the case if you are taking the cab all the way to Fort Lauderdale.
  19. We have taken Ubers from Miami to Fort Lauderdale hotels. You don't need the name of the terminal. The app knows where you are.
  20. Some of the top shelf liquors, I believe. I am more of rail booze girl myself...
  21. I had the watermelon soup on my last cruise. It was clear - I don't think there was any dairy in it at all.
  22. I am not sure that you can use your one experience to make blanket statements about every high-floor balcony on every ship on every cruise. I have never needed a fan.

  24. And seeing that FTTF sells out on many, if not most cruises, it is not overpriced. If anything, they could probably raise the price some and still sell out.
