  1. Yep - between the no-show, the casino offer, the kids in another cabin, and the underage, unrelated girl, your situation is pretty complicated. I would contact Carnival and explain the entire situation - and ask them to email you a copy of their response -whatever answer they give you, you will want it in writing.
  2. Thanks for posting this! God forbid that a rumor gets started!
  3. You can walk onto the ship and ask the first staff person you see, and they will be able to direct you. No need to look anything up ahead of time.
  4. All of the real partiers would just stay on Bourbon Street! 😁
  5. Maybe that's Carnival's plan to get back into profitability - getting people angry enough that they forfeit their deposits, allowing Carnival to keep the money and resell their cabin to someone else... That might generate way more money than the interest on prepaid gratuities!
  6. Continental breakfast is still free. Everything else has an associated charge.
  7. I don't know if we are allow to mention specific carriers here. If you Google "travel insurance", some of the websites that will be returned are agencies that handle policies from many different insurance companies. I would start with one of those, as opposed to one particular insurance provider. Most of those have search engines to give you several options for the type of policy that suits your needs and budget.
  8. I was not shaming you. There is a big difference between asking for extra ice and asking them to do double the work for your cabin, which is basically what a guest is doing if you insist on twice a day service.
  9. Which is exactly why you should tip them more if you want them to go above and beyond Carnival's expectations of them. When they cut staff, they reduced the amount of work the remaining stewards were expected to do for each cabin. If you want them to do more, pay them yourself.
  10. Knowing how many more cabins the stewards now have to service, I would never ask for this unless I handing them a very generous tip at the same time.
  11. http://www.saintgregtravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/RoomServiceMenu.jpg St. Greg posted this menu to his blog. Sorry, Greg; it would not let me post it as a link.
  12. Here is a menu from last June? http://www.saintgregtravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/RoomServiceMenu.jpg
  13. In 20 cruises, I have never seen a fight on Carnival, either. And given that the typical Disney cruiser is a family with young children, I wouldn't expect to see flights on their ships, either.
  14. With all due respect, what are you planning to do with this information? Isn't your cruise nonrefundable at this point? Are you going to be able to change anything? As with any other type of publicly-sourced review, you are going to have some people say it is great, and some people say that it is awful. My advice is to board the ship with a positive attitude and take it from there.
  15. The amount of interest they make on prepaid gratuities amounts to a rounding error on the companies published financials. It's far, far less than the money they would have made if they had gotten the full amount at sailing time.
  16. Wrong. Those gratuities are not profit; they are liabilities - a debt owed to their employees. If I gave you a $20 bill and told you to give it to someone else a month from now, it is not $20 of income to you. It might temporarily help their cash flow a little bit, but that is something entirely different.
  17. I am pretty sure the ice tea is unsweetened.
  18. Yes, it does. And thank you for not starting yet another thread about the drink package.
  19. I am pretty sure that if the PVP doesn't take the deposit, they can't help you with the trip. Our own PVP consistently goes above and beyond with helping us with our bookings, but she told us that she has to take the first payment in order to help us with a particular cruise.
  20. Yep - and gamblers love to tell you how much they've won - but never tell you about the times that they lost.
