When do the first flights to the Caribbean start with Maleth, will be interestring to read some reviews.

This sounds like the airline we did a gatwick to Orlando in the early 2000's, it was plain white and we had seats upstairs where the in flight entertainment was a screen they pulled down between the aisle and you had to duck under it to go to the toilet, im sure it was Travel City Direct. What i remember most was the plane shaking when it was taking off 🙂

I think the problem is when you book your cruise and are told you will be flying with a certain airline in this case TUI then you assume you will be flying in a dreamliner with seat back entertainment and food & drink during the flight, you may be lucky to be able to book premium seats, you then get informed that you will not be going on this airline but with an airline that no one has heard off, only has one class of cabin and no inflight entertainment. I beleive under these circumstances people have every right to complain, lets face it the flight should be the start of exciting times ahead but for many of us due to these changes that feeling has gone.

I did look on the website and found this but when I click on it a screen comes up saying you do not have permission to access this page !!!!!!, as far as emailing them Im still waiting for a reply to an email I sent last weekend so im not sure its worth spending any more time on this. The Mobility Aid must not be classed as a Mobility Scooter. I have to say that I think our TA has to take some of the blame as when we booked we did say we wanted to tale a mobility scooter and she said that our conservatory suite we booked would be ok, we then filled out the questionairre and upgraded to a full suite, we then got the email saying its not allowed, I can live with the fact we now have to take a manual wheelchair my main gripe now is the fact that our freinds who I was counting on to help with all the luggage at gatwick are now going from a different terminal, I will never understand how they could break up a group booking especially when we all had the TUI flight showing up on our personaliser.

Well our tales of woe continues, we received an email yesterday from P & O saying they would nut allow us to take a mobility scooter on board due to health & saftey, thery did suggest I conntact a company they recommend to hire a motorise wheelchair however when I spoke to them they told me they dont do hires for caribbean cruises so gthat was a waste of time, anyway I managed to speak to P & O this morning trying to find out why we had been refused even though the scooter meets the requirements on dimensions, the girl kep telling me it was because there is not enough room in the cabin which is strange as last week we were able to upgfade to a full suite for the very reason of having more spasce. After o asked if there was someone higher up I could talk to so they could explain whey we cant take a scooter the girl put the phone down on me !!!!!!!!. Our only alternative is to now take a manual wheelchair but we found out today that our 4 freinds who I booked on one booking who found out last week that they had been moved to the Maleth flight are now going from South Terminal whereas we are in the North terninal so they wont be able to help us with the wheelchair and all our luggage, we have all said never again would we go with P & O, the service we have received and the rudeness of the staff is unbelievable and so un-professional.

Good point, on our Barbados departure we can stay onboard on our last day until they call us in the afternoon, but if you can use your drinks package on that day how would you settle your bill, I cant see loads of people headind down to reception to pay their billd just before leaving for the airport.

What happens if you have been moved to the Maleth flights, our freinds cant even get on the site to pre book seats let alone look at extra luggage charges.

Yes your right, I paid £180 for the 2 of us, but if I had gone for extra leg room them we would be looking at almost £400 which does seem ridiculously high, as I said I couldnt understand why on seat guru the rows of extra leg room seats were not showing up on the P & O seat plan but it was the same 787-9 plane. Our flights are 26 out and 27 back

Like others I tried to log on the system at midnight thursda, eventually got on to the seat selection page after 2 hours, I then found that the extra legroom seats showing up on seat guru for that plane were not showing as extra leg room on the P & O seat selection site, so in the end I selected whay seat guru said were extra leg room seats but only paid £45 PP but even that took another 2 hours for the transaction to go through, will see what we get when we get on board. On our FB page a lot of people are saying they are not going to pre select due to the extra costs, if I had booked the extra leg room seats we would be looking at almost £400 for the 2 of us. We did not get anywhere with P & O over their decision to move our 4 freinds over to Maleth even though it was a group booking, even though it showed we were all going on the TUI flight, we are all disgusted by this and has certainly left a sour taste.

I have benn told that the first flights on Maleth to Barbados are due to opperate from early November so would be interested to know if people have already pre booked seats as the 14 weeks would now be within the time frame, if so what were the costs to pre select and also had anyone pre selected seats on a TUI flight to then be told that they had been changed to Maleth. Im on hold at the moment to P & O to see if they can do anythin about our particular problem but the announcement at the beginning of the call said that they appogise for the technical difficulties they are having for people wanting to pre select seats !!!!!, great so not only have they mucked up our flights between the 6 of us but it looks like we wont be able to pre select seats tomorrow. This will be our first cruise on P & O as previously have gone with Princess, NCL etc and have to say if the past few days have been anything to go by it may be our last.

There are 6 of us going on our cruise, we booked it as a group booking but each of the 3 couples had seperate booking references, today I found out from our TA that our 4 freinds have been changed from TUI to Maleth, this of course will now cause a few problems, the maleth flight is 2 hours ahead of our TUI flights and as we are all going on one minibus it will mean we will have to hang around for a couple of hours are they board. Another problem might be that we will be unable to check our luggae in as we will be at Gatwick around 5 hours before our flight and wont know if check in will be open. Our TA did speak to P & O and they said that they could move 2 opf our freinds back to the TUI flight but they have secided that all 4 will stick to the Maleth flight, one starnge thing is we are all coming back on the TUI flight, all seems very annoying that this has happened as we thought we had booked as a group booking.

On the FB site for our cruise there has been lots of very unhappy peopleregarding the change of airline, some have even cancelled their cruise saying they will not fly on this airline due to no premium economy seats or entertainment, this seems to be affecting Manchester, Birmingham & Gatwick although ours is still showing TUI so not sure whats happening, it does seem that P & O might have dropped a clanger with this airline as im sure many people wont book with them in the future.

My wife renewded her passport last week and you dont have to scan a photo, on the online application form when you get to the part where it asks for your photo you get the choice to use one taken by your phone, you just take a photo and then then it automatically opens your photos and you pick the one you want to use, the form even tells you if its an acceptable photo.

Does anyone know the costs for extra leg room seats ?? cheers rob

One thing I need to work out is as we will embark on Arvia late in the evening after our flight to Barbados is it worth pre oredering the DP to receive the 10% discount or wait until the next day to order it onboard, I know we will lose the 10% discount but we would save around £80 as we wouldnt be drinking that much when we embark. Just wondered what others have done in this situation.

Hi, Has anyone done any of these local tours with a mobility scooter, its one of those travel ones that folds up, I remember getting one of the local taxis years ago when we stopped at Tortola but at that time we didnt need the scooter and cannot recall if you could have got one on the taxi. cheers rob

Hi All, Silly question time but im wondering if you can get a Dirty Banana cocktail on Arvia, I had no problems getting these on Princess the last few cruises but this will be our 1st cruise on P & O, lookiong forward to Arvia in January around the Caribean. Also one of our freinds is celebratng one of those "0" birthdays so would like any recommendations for a nice restaurant other than the MDR. Cheers Rob

We watched the Liverpool v Man Utd match last Monday on MUTS and that was a BT feed, they didnt show many matches on the sports channels on the cabin tv.

We leave next Tuesday and uploaded our vaccine paperwork on our apps yesterday, at first it did show pending but after logging out and opening the app up again it then showed that all paperwork had gone through and we had all green ticks on our travel check list. I think they may have updated the app as when I was going through the questions I noticed it says have you in the last 10 days been in contact with anyone having covid or have you had any symptoms, so you can now just click the no boxes.

Here in the Uk there has been a program over 8 weeks about VV,called The Cruise I watched the 1st episode and thought no not for me, a lot of the staff just seemed very unprofessional and not sure if the program did Virgin any good or not.

We did a Hawaii cruise a few years ago and had an overnight in Maui so had no problem in getting a round in but I always regretted not playing The Plantation course at Kapalua, Im sure it was around $285 and we just thought that was topo much so we ended up playing the Blue Course at Wailie, it was a lovely course with fantastic views over the Pacific but not the same as playing a PGA tour course.

We are on the Enchanted next Tuesday and I started to get excited 🤪

If they are sailing from the UK they dont need the tests anymore from a pharmacy.
