  1. We picked slots this past Friday. But things do change.
  2. When you get the iron and ironing board do all the clothes that need it at the one time as most likely your cabin steward will return to take it away as someone else will probably need it. You don't want to be in need of it later and can't get ahold of one as others may being using it.
  3. First, I hope your sister will be fine and all works out. Have you called already and asked for a switch? Though they do not have to they may be willing, you never know. Did you get your insurance through NCL? Was you sisters condition pre-existing and if so did you have coverage with pre-existing coverage? Did you purchase airfare on your own or through NCL? In 2014 my wife and I had to cancel our 10 year wedding anniversary Alaskan Cruisetour after full payment but still within some sort of penalty phase and we had taken out insurance with pre-existing condition coverage as she was dealing with a chronic health condition. We did not use NCL insurance. Basically we were made whole with what we had spent between Cruise tour and airfare. We first had to get refunds on anything we could. We had NCL refund us on what ever percentage we were entitled to. We booked airfare on our own so we dealt with the airlines. As for the airlines it was non-refundable but they did put it in a travel bank so we had to show some sort of proof of that. After we had proof of refunds we filled out the paperwork from the insurance company, included the doctors note that she was unable to travel, and waited for the refund check. We ended up doing just a cruise 2 years later but for this trip we brought our then 6yo DD along and it was about the same price as what the Cruisetour was going to cost.
  4. @genealogyfan I am on the same cruise. I think what we will find is the first at sea day will be nice weather but the second day will turn colder. I'm basing that off of taking the Pearl the same week last year on the BOS-Bermuda cruise. It's not quite the same as what we are doing this year but the weather the day we left Bermuda was nice. We left Bermuda around 4p to sail to Bar Harbor and that next day at sea it had turned chilly. I would guess that first at sea day we will be off the coast somewhere between FLA and one of the Carolinas so we should be able to base our weather on that. Of course the second at sea day we are further north.
  5. Last April we of course had to watch it during online check in but I also was sent about 3 e-mail reminders to watch it again. Others reported getting 5 more reminder e-mails and like you it was also on the cabin TV's.
  6. According to what was posted the return to e-muster drills starts April 1. Fingers crossed it starts early for you. Just curious, did you watch the video during check in? I have reads that others that have sailed in the past month or so had to watch it even though they had in person drills.
  7. In the musical they die a different way. The musical stays true to the story of a girl losing her mom and moving into a new house that has 2 ghosts, but there are some changes to the story in the musical. I won't spoil it.
  8. Saw it on Broadway last November, it's a great show.
  9. Me me me, I do. I have an email I had signed up for years ago and pretty much used it for bulk mail, stuff like NCL, bills, etc. My town owns its own electric company and they had its own ISP and starting offering high speed internet back in 1998 and I used an email address from them for my personal stuff. Well just over a year ago they decided to get out of the ISP business. I went to Verizon for my internet provider and they don't offer email addresses so it was easier to switch everything over to my AOL account.
  10. You wonder if NCL just mailed out half of what they do now could they do more things on the ships like say hire more people to bring back twice a day cabin service????
  11. As others have said it will depend. I know this doesn't help you but as of today, according to Flightaware, if they fly you non stop on United or BA it will be LHR. If they fly you with a connection on TAP (Lisbon), Icelandair (Keflavik), or Air Lingus (Dublin) it will be LGW. I'm not sure if they use all those airlines but they are all big carriers.
  12. We sailed on the Pearl (same class as the Jewel) to Alaska in 2016 in the 2br family suite. If you want to see pics and videos of the 2br Family suite check out the link in my signature below.
  13. Another big giveaway, not just in a phishing scam but also spam/scam emails, is they way they are addressing you. They are addressed such as: "Greetings your email @provider dot com" "Hello your email" or "Hi Bank Of America user" etc. Most legit emails will address you by first name. Of course that may not work if your email contains your first name such as RobertSmith @ provider dot com. But still in those cases that are a scam you will probably be addressed as RobertSmith and not just Robert.
  14. It's been a combination of things as to why there is a lack of cabin stewards. A lot of those laid off because of covid never returned, not having enough job candidates to fill the needed vacancies, and of course job cuts in that the company feels they can do more with less. If the industry, not just NCL, keeps cutting passengers will go elsewhere for there vacations. Sure you will have passengers to replace those leaving but it may be a one and done thing for potential cruisers.
  15. So glad you were able to get a resolution to your satisfaction. Glad I was able to help.
  16. Why not just take a screenshot of the bar code? Seems that would be easier unless I'm missing something as I don't have/use that app.
  17. Sometimes they will allow you to pay money and they will allow you in to Canada. Guess it's some sort of bond or something similar. Used to go up to Canada with some co-workers every year for a hockey game. About the 5th year we did it they had us pull over at customs and check our luggage and ID's. One of the guys that had done the trip every year had a DUI with property destruction years ago when he was young. He had to pay $800 and they allowed him in the country. But they could have very easily denied entry so it's not something you want to count on. I know he's been allowed back in as we did the trip for a few more years after and he also did a family trip.
  18. @delvecchio2001 I highly recommend you check out elliott.org. Chris Elliott is a consumer advocate. He spells out way to properly advocate for yourself and in some cases he or his staff will even advocate on your behalf. If you do start by advocating by yourself make sure to read his advice as you don't want to do anything to sabotage your chances for a positive outcome.
  19. @Socalev When did you book? Could you have maybe booked before the bonus point promotion started? I'm not sure when it started but maybe someone knows?
  20. If we start seeing stuff from Acme we will need to worry 🤪
  21. IIRC I believe there is an option when you do the online check in as to how you want your bed.
  22. Sweet!!!! I have the LATDBLX code on the 8 night Epic repo cruise from SJU to NYC in April so that should get me 24 points. That will put me in Gold status after only 3 cruises. Got 7 points for a 7 day Alaska cruise back in 2106 and 21 points for the 7 day Bos to Bermuda cruise last April as that had the LATDBLX code as well. I'll then need another 23 points for Platinum.
  23. Check out https://www.elliott.org/ he is a travel advocate and also shows you how to advocate for yourself. He lists contact emails for actual people at NCL. Make sure to follow his advice on the steps to take, such as working from the bottom up and not using threats even as simple as I will never use your company again. If you can not get a resolution they will sometimes take action on your behalf.
