  1. A freakin nightmare unless you are a Pinnacle is what a Presidents cruise is. Over run with (rightly so) very entitled passengers.
  2. $300 - $400 per bag seems about right. We used this service when coming home, so no issue. I can only add that you may want to ensure that whomever or whatever is on the receiving end is aware of and agreeable to receiving parcels.
  3. I'm waiting for the " my kid is not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree" thread. It appears as if everyone who cruises has a gifted/more mature child. LOL
  4. Are there any plans in the near future for the Metro/RER to upgrade their systems to allow payment with contactless cards or a phone app? The only thing I see right now is one must use/swipe a Navigo card or old fashion ticket.
  5. My BIL wasn't able to find his eDocs on the mobile app. Neither was I . Had to jump on the PC and log in to find eDocs.
  6. Do people sometimes forget how incredibly fortunate and privileged those of us who can take cruise vacations/holidays are? I know I'm guilty of it occasionally. I think there are many though who never experienced the financial struggles that many of us grew up with. Barely able to afford school and rent AND food. I remember when payday meant I could have hotdogs in my 3 boxes for $1 mac-n-cheese. Then, you get up in the morning and your car won't start. Note To Self: Be thankful every day that you can afford to go on a cruise. Even if it's the occasional 3 day cruise. Let alone plan a 23 day trip to Europe and go on a 12 day med cruise.
  7. Trying to be fun, nice, and help others taught my wife a very valuable lesson when it came to putting together a "group" cruise. Learned that everyone has a friend who says they could have found better pricing. Found that half don't want to hang with a "group" while the other half won't step out of their house unless everything is pre-planned as a group. Found that everyone wants to go, but at the end of the day, only a third will actually pay.
  8. I'm confused. Trying to convince us or yourself? It's not my money and none of my business.
  9. I've been directly under the Lido. Got awakened every morning around 5:30 with the crew setting up the deck chairs for that days activities.
  10. As I'm sure you're aware, asking us to suggest a specific Travel Agent, or even us just suggesting a specific travel agent is against the rules. I would recommend though that you talk to friends, even maybe actually interview 3 or 4 brick and mortar agents in your area. Ask them very specific questions but definitely use a travel agent to help you set this up. Don't forget to purchase travel insurance either. And don't buy the travel agents policy. While they do make a generous commission on the sale of the policy, very few actually know what's covered nor will they be there to help if needed. Check out and CALL an insurance broker like TripInsuranceStore.com or InsureMyTrip.com
  11. if all one needs is "white noise" why not play white noise on your phone.?
  12. Seat Guru is now owned by Expedia (hello cruisecritic). I inquired if Expedia planned to update Seat Guru and the answer I received was No. I would expect that Expedia is just going to let seat guru die a slow painful death.
  13. Slim but possible there will be the single supplement charge added. However, the travel insurance you purchased may reimburse for this charge.
  14. Agree with all the above. If truly concerned, purchase fully refundable airfare. If that's not an option, then a comprehensive travel insurance policy would be best. I find that the airline policies are more restrictive. Be that as it may, if something should happen, the airlines are most likely going to offer a credit to be used in the future. If that happens, the travel insurance will consider that as being refunded and won't reimburse you for your flights. An option to get around that (if you are 100% sure that you are filing for a covered reason) is to A) try to get the airline not to offer a future flight credit or, B) wait it out until the future flight credit will expire (get all the documentation) and hopefully be able to then file with the travel insurance again for this loss.
  15. Entirely too long, but I would estimate 3 to 6 months. If you wish, you could always go check out your state insurance commissioners web site and see if the State has a minimum requirement. Mine has 60days, I believe. If nothing else, I like to just push them along and let them know I'm not afraid to use my state resources if needed. For Florida, your web site would be Home (floir.com)
  16. Most likely too late. First of all, travel insurance is purchased to protect you against unforeseen events. You're trying to recoup potential loss of a foreseen event. Since you've published said event on a public forum, you would most likely be caught. 2nd, CFAR coverage usually requires the insured to purchase coverage within X number of days of initial deposit.
  17. It's not totally packed all the time. Just during peak hours. Adjust your schedule.
  18. Your friend might find themselves being turned away from even boarding the ship on embarkation day. You are correct in that Canada doesn't play when it comes to DUI convictions.
  19. My opinion only. The only benefit to Platinum is early embarkation/debarkation and laundry. Everything else is just shiny babbles that I can do without.
  20. Depends on what you mean by an "Annual" policy. If you're looking for an annual comprehensive policy, you may have understood correctly. I don't know. I would follow up with a phone call. If you mean an annual multi-trip medical policy, then you may have misunderstood. Here is a link to his page for GeoBlue Trekker options. 21. While I won't argue what I originally wrote as post #2 or #3 in this thread, you should notice that as you provided more details later in the thread, I have provided you with support and/or options to assist you in finding out just what AON is thinking. Receiving an automatic denial within 5 days of submission is unheard of. Especially in these days where it takes 3 months just for AON or any travel insurance adjuster to acknowledge receiving a claim. Something is not right. Again, I would look to your states insurance commissioner for assistance with this claim. That's their job. To help their constituents who voted them in. Again, I don't know the complete details of your claim, and it's really none of our business, but the first red flag I see is the 5 day turn around for denial.
  22. 5 days 🫣 That is amazingly fast even in the good times. Something is off kilter. I too would be doing some additional research.
  23. You can always file a formal complaint with the State Insurance Commission in the state in which you live. They are the folks who regulate who and what can be sold in your state. They will investigate your claim and get back to you. I've had success following this method. Just google search Insurance Commissioner for (Your State of residence)
  24. Pre-existing conditions coverage is complicated. Here’s how medically stable and the lookback period fit together: Any medical condition (no matter how minor) existing in the 60 to 365 day Lookback Period is defined as a Pre-Existing Condition if you’ve had symptoms, it’s been treated, consulted on or had a change of medication during those 60 to 365 days prior to the travel insurance policy’s effective date. A Pre-Existing Medical Condition includes any condition that’s been tested, treated, examined, consulted with, received advice on or had symptoms of. This also includes any adjustments or changes in any prescriptions or medication. If a pre-existing condition exists, it must be “stable”.“Stable”, in respect to www.TripInsuranceStore.com’s travel insurance plans, means that the person with the pre-existing condition: Has not already taken a turn for the worse; Is not in a state where any changes are foreseen, known, or expected that could cause the person to “take a turn for the worse”. This varies from company to company.
