  1. Any suggestions? I'm the type of person who easily rolls with what life hands you. But, I am the person who usually has back-up plans in place should the unforeseen happen. As of right now, should this flight be canceled, BA and AS will get me to London, but, will they get me to London in Club World? Is there something I should be doing to be proactive? Where do I fall in the priority list of accommodations when rebooking a passenger who is using Award tickets? Or, am I totally overthinking this seeing as we are 90 days out from actual travel dates?
  2. Specifically BA288 and BA289 These are British Airways flights to and from PHX/LHR Daily R/T scheduled flights of which I'm booked on in Sept. However, according to FlightAware and Flightradar24, these flights have not flown since June 19th. I'm trying to figure out why. Just looking for a heads-up on any potential issues that I may need to be aware of and maybe get ahead of. Thanks for any help and/or understanding of flight operations.
  3. I'll let others confirm this, but 1 single trip is the time you depart your primary residence until the time you return to you primary residence. I would guess that one could get around this if one lived next to a port. Get off 1 ship, grab an Uber home, wash some clothes, grab a bite to eat, then grab an Uber back to the port and board another ship.
  4. I like Gardyloo's example of how and when to purchase miles to plan a future flight with great seats and the example does work. The one down side to keep in mind to this strategy is that by using miles to get that flight is that now you are considered a non-rev passenger. The miles you fly do not earn qualifying miles towards your elite status. This can be a minor inconvenience. I can only speak for myself, but after 25 years of traveling for business and now being retired for a few years, I'm finding that I enjoyed those early boarding benefits that my elite status brought me.
  5. Wouldn't affect you in any way. Would affect your friend big time, but that's not the question.
  6. There's a rule? Show me the rule please.
  7. The same way my grandkids got fed. They researched and found a company that would deliver a 7 day supply of baby needs. It was a few years ago. Unsure if they delivered to the ship or to the hotel and then the parents had to carry it onto the ship.
  8. Royal pairs. Carnival does not.
  9. The waiver of pre-existing conditions clause also includes family members not traveling with you. I realize that you have no non-refundable expenses yet, however, purchasing the travel insurance within the timeline stated is one of the conditions that need to be met to waive pre-existing conditions. All you need to do right now is decide what policy you want to get and pay enough to cover the deposit. Then, as time goes by and you make additional purchases that need to be covered, you notify the insurance company, and pay the additional costs.
  10. Just my opinion, but I would think it all comes down to money. Are you Joe Schmoe and just want the table. Management's not going to do anything to disrupt a family who has every right to enjoy their vacation as does anyone else. Are they going to possibly start a huge fight to kick these people out? No Are you a Saudi Prince who has booked all the suites for your family? Sorry canasta family, you're outta here. No, I've never complained. None of my business. I may have had difficulty finding a place to sit during the busy hours, but I've always found somewhere to sit. And, if it's that busy, I just adjust my schedule.
  11. I would think that the answer would be, what's most comfortable to you. Myself, I take the confirmation of coverage and the ID card that has the contact phone information. I also keep a digital copy in my phone of the entire policy as a downloaded pdf in my "Files" folder.
  12. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Before electronics came along, parents ignored their children by giving them table games or coloring books at restaurants. Now, we give them electronics.
  13. I've seen it. I just walk on by. Who, what, or why is frankly none of my business. Many more things for me to worry about than worrying about a multigenerational family sitting around a table playing cards, communicating with each other, and having a good time. A lot of people just not happy. Complaining about kids all up in their electronics, parents getting drunk not paying attention to their kids, adults drinking or smoking that wacky weed and fighting, kids running around unsupervised. Here we a family bonding over board games or card games and people still aint happy.
  14. Would be interested in how a professional Sociologist would break down and analyze this thread.

    London Eye

Pre-book if at all possible. This is my opinion only. This is something everyone should do but be prepared to be underwhelmed. I'm happy to say I've done it but won't be doing it again. Now, if I had a new friend or family member traveling with me and they wanted to do this, then I would go with them.
  16. I've asked this on the "France" board but unsure which board would be more appropriate. We will be spending 10 days in London, with a brief trip to Paris via Eurostar. Can I still buy Paris metro tickets in the Cafe Metropole rather than wait until I arrive at Gare du Nord?
  17. Do I ask on the "France" board? or do I ask on the UK board? Was watching YouTube videos and then did a Google search but answers were 9 years old. Apparently lines can be long at kiosks at Gare du Nord for metro tickets. Is it true that you can buy Paris metro tickets on the Eurostar in the Cafe Metropole car?
  18. I do recommend this as a future option for resolution. I've changed my tactics to social media for many corporations to include Marriott, T-Mobile, Xfinity and of course AS. Some are much better than others. I put AS up there. Unsure what you mean by public though. In situations like this I DM (direct message).
  19. $10 less than an American passport and good for 10 years also. They can get an adult 5 year passport for about $40 less than our 10 year
  20. If you can send your kids to school without body armor with no anxiety, going on a cruise with only birth certificates is a no brainer.
  21. Nice article. Pretty cool to see the changes thru the years on Google Earth
  22. Thanks for that link. It helps to be able to visualize in my mind exactly what's going to happen and know the general direction I need to go to get to my stops.
  23. Okay. What National flag flies over the island? What countries laws regulate civil, criminal, business, and personal behaviors?
  24. Royal invested millions of $$$ leasing the island, designing the island, building the facilities, maintaining the facilities, building the docks, bringing in the labor and supplies,,,, why in the heck would they charge $65pp if people are willing to pay $170pp?
