Virgin have a VERY Capable VP of Operations, so it will be interesting to see what he brings to this new venture :D Exciting times ahead.

The language you use is called English...now ask again who get it the wrong way round :D
:what:How come Brits type the dates backwards. Allways makes me scratch my head. Used to seeing MM/DD/YY -
Thank you, for actually reading my post :D
Yes but ChipLondon's question was how would you feel if Royal did it.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

He certainly has a very large family :D
WE LOVE YOU DARRYL......you are amazing, wonderful, kind, generous, and an absolute joy...................BUT most of all you are a friend and family.

Today I heard the news that DD is leaving Royal, I would just like to thank him for all the smiles that he provided for so many cruisers, he will be missed.
We wish him luck in his future career, but wish he did not go

Never said I was getting "Worked Up", I just said I would be less than impressed. Yes I know how I got my points, by spending a lot of money with a company, and therefore do feel it bizarre that some one could match my benefits without doing the same. But as previously stated recognize it as a good move by MSC to hopefully attract cruisers from other companies.
Seems kind of petty to get all worked up about how someone else got benefits. You know why you got them, who gives a dip why someone else has them??? -
Having today received an email from MSC that tells me about their new Loyalty Match Program, which offers to match benefits of other cruise lines and hotel programs. I have to ask how people would feel if Royal attempted to do something similar.
Personally I feel as if whilst it is a clever promotion, if other cruisers that had not sailed loyally with Royal got the same benefits as I do by gaining cruise points, then I would not be that impressed. I know that Royal have a partial program with Celebrity, but that is within the same group, what do you think ?

Watch this space, it will be introduced into the UK soon :D

yes they say we will arrive about 4pm

Information about the delay was posted on the TV system early, surely most guests would not appreciate announcements made throughout the night. We all had some advance warning as we were told yesterday that the port had been closed for a while due to fog.
There was no reason for guests to be carrying bags around as the first announcements did advise us that we could continue to use our cabins until further notice. Sure some with early plans might have left cabins ahead of 8am but they could have easily returned.
Anyone that woke early could easily see we were in deep fog and not moving, whilst most are keeping calm I think it is a shame that some guests are blaming the cruise line for the delayed arrival.

Full credit to Captain and Crew on The Quantum for all action to ensure the safety of everyone onboard as the ships arrival into Shanghai is delayed by heavy fog. We are currently on hold outside the port area waiting for the port to open.
Communication from the bridge has kept everyone informed of developments, it is expected that the fog may lift by midday, and the ship will pull alongside 5-6 hours later.
Some people have flight issues but the ship has opened up the phones and Internet. We are in safe hands but I feel for Royal as they had a massive promotional event planned for many VIPs today.
-
Music Hall is currently maintained, with just a small section of the upper level being given over to shops. It appears as if the Diamond Lounge may become VIP gaming with the DL moving into the MH.
On other ships, the gaming and shop space in enlarged. I believe the Music Hall on Quantum is one of those re-purposed spaces. -
Update -
It appears as if DD will continue but maybe it is a little less Dynamic.
It appears as if they are going to introduce a concept where the four main DD styles remain but with open seating at two different times, early and late seating.
So realistically more like a combination of MDR and DD, the menus for each venue will remain, but with some local classic dishes as set items as well.
We are on Quantum heading to China and this concept is due to be introduced on sailings from Shanghai.
It just appears as if getting the local clients to book in advance is the challenge, and with their booking system being different, it is easier for all to do it this way.
I think the term to be used is Cosmopolitan Dining, to me this offers the best solution enabling the DD concept to continue with some more traditional elements retained.

It is above and accessed from Seaplex, over looking the pool area from the kids end. Not well placed in my view, there is little service to that area and it would be noisey when the kids use their pool area.
Where is th suite sun deck on quantum class? Does anyone have any photos? -
Whilst I am not a vegetarian, I think there will still be plenty on offer to you, although that would be different to pure vegans.

I think Royal had about 100 Pinnacle Members when that status was introduced a few years ago, and probably have 700-800 Pinnacle members now........just saying :D
That's a 3 year old article. Just sayin'. -
My understanding that the area is The Suite Sun Deck during the day and the official Cigar Bar in the evenings, for all guests :)

Nobody is doubting you, I just find it interesting the information you have been told. As MB has stated that DD us the way forward, and our booking says DD, as does this part of the website. But I am sure that Emma us probably more aware than the IT people as she us the one selling the cruises. But you have to accept that it would not be the first time that mixed messages have come out.

Very interesting, did the LA tell you that there would be no DD, or are you assuming that because of the MTD showing on the paperwork. We both know that Royals I.T. dept does not always reflect what is actually happening
We got it from the Loyalty/Future cruise consultant as we booked our trip on Ovation with her. Our booking shows MTD and not Dynamic Dining. I have to say this was something of a disappointment to us :( -
Interesting......Where did you get this information from ?
.......There will be no Dynamic Dining on Ovation - we were told this is because the ship is being built ready for China. ...... -
It is not like Celebrity, but the decent thing to do is to tip the waiter for their service of the wine :D
Sorry if its anything like Celebrity they will charge a corkage fee if you take it to the restaurant. -
Many people are stunned by the amount of cruises this super guy does, Yes he does live on ships for most of the year. He is one of the nicest people you will meet on a ship, and whilst enjoying the Top Cruiser status he enjoys mixing with others that cruise often, and first time cruisers alike. I am proud to call him a friend :D
So what's the deal with this famed super cruiser? We just got off Independence and were stunned by how many points he's accumulated. Does he live on the ships? -
Err "Any Bar that is Open" ....Doh
Although I question if you cannot work that out, maybe you have had enough to drink anyway :D
If the answer is "any bar", what about bars not opening until 11:15 am?What if want to start the day with a bloody mary before go off in port, to start "using" the package right away?
Thanks.

They are all recent as the ship is under a month old. :D
Loyalty Match....Very Clever or Risky
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Maybe you would like to get back onto the UK office, and tell them that this match is available to UK cruisers, as I have just been sent my Black Membership details. The big question now is will the benefits entice me to try another MSC cruise, I enjoyed my previous cruises, but feel my loyalty remains with Royal. :D
