  1. For our 10/2 Breakaway cruise we had a 12-12:30 check in. Dropped our rental car off at Avis on W. 43rd St a little after 11:30, got a Lyft and was at the terminal about 12. Dumped our luggage with a porter, and we’re ushered to a Haven waiting room. Total wait was about 15 minutes during which we showed our documents and got our room keys. Then we were led to an elevator, stopping somewhere to have cards scanned as being near the muster station. On up to the Haven lounge where 5 minutes later we were told that our staterooms were ready. After dropping of our backpacks we headed to the American Diner, only to find out that it is all open air and cold/rainy/windy weather made it unusable. All in all the embarkation process went smoothly. I think that the removal of the ArriveCAN and testing made it a lot less chaotic. Still there were huge crowds in the terminal and it looked pretty zoo-y.
  2. There is no lobster roll on the American Diner menu, only something called Lobster and Shrimp Sliders.
  3. We have stayed in 2br suites on the Jewel and NOW on the Breakaway. My wife and I sleep in separate bedrooms as I snore annoyingly. I (71yo) sleep in the second bedroom with an egg crate pad on the bed and it’s comfortable. I can’t imagine two adults sharing that bed. No opinion on the living room couch.
  4. We're in St. John NB on the NCL Breakaway. Partly sunny, high 68, not much color in the foliage.
  5. A few pages back there was a discussion of whether you could have butler serve you a Premium Plus bottle of wine to your suite as part of an in-suite dinner. We are on the Breakaway and did just that last night. We went to the Haven bar for a before dinner drink and ordered the bottle there just before leaving. They said they would hold it for us and to ask the butler to retrieve it at meal time. It worked.
  6. We are on the 10/2 sailing of the Breakaway and would have tested this Friday. We got the official email yesterday which indicated that the ArriveCAN/testing requirement was off. This morning, however, an email stating the opposite came through. It was apparently an automated deal that should have been canceled but wasn’t.
  7. @palpieha was talking about getting a bottle of wine as part of an in-suite dinner served by the butler. @Sthrngary, you have mentioned many times that you don't like in-suite dining, so you probably haven't tried that. Are you sure that the rule applies in that situation?
  8. Sailing on the Breakaway for a New England/Canada cruise. Would bars, the Haven bar in particular, have Clamato juice?
  9. I've had a passport (never heard it called a book until this thread) since the 70's. Somewhere along the way the card became available and when renewal time came around I checked the box for the card and paid a little more. It was useful at the time since the backwards state that I live in had not decided whether or how to participate in the enhanced drivers license deal. It's a handy piece of ID and doesn't take up much space in my wallet.
  10. On a recent trip on the Jewel (same layout) we had a 4 cabins on deck 11. 3 Club Balconies: 2 aft facing and 1 on Port side (under La Cucina). 1 2br suite under the library. All were fine. Avoid cabins under the pool area and under the fitness center.
  11. Spiced Rum (with the noted exception of Bumbu) tends to be undrinkable swill that is crowding the better stuff off the shelves. Fortunately on our next cruise we have the Premium Plus package that will get me Zacapa 23.
  12. We'll be on the Breakaway in October on a Canada/New England cruise. Does the seating for restaurants on the Waterfront have heaters?
  13. How does Wasabi (Breakaway)work? I see that there is the sushi bar itself with barstools, along with tables, both indoor and on the Oceanfront. Is there a host? Do you seat yourself at an unoccupied table? Are there servers for those tables or do you have to go to the sushi bar and order?
