  1. So I read the following on RCCL's website: "Tier level status is renewed annually. The “Program Year,” or 12-month annual renewal period, is April 1st through March 31st of the next year. For the purpose of tier credit accumulation and advancement, Members will begin with zero points on April 1st or at their introduction to Club Royale. At renewal, Tier Credits earned April 1st through March 31st will determine the Member’s tier level status for the subsequent Program Year. The Member’s tier will be established on April 1st, based upon the Tier Credits earned from the previous Program Year. Members may advance to a higher tier during the Program Year if they earn the required minimum Tier Credits. Members that elevate tier level status during the Program Year, will enjoy the benefits related to their upgraded tier if on a voyage or on their next voyage within the same Program Year" So if I earn Prime or Signature from March 31st, 2022 through April 1st, 2023 I will be that same level from April 1st, 2023 through March 31st, 2024 but my points will reset to zero? You automatically retain your tier for the next year but have to re-earn it for the year after that? (i.e. 2022 Tier is good in 2023 but need to re-earn in 2023 to have 2024) Do I have this right?
  2. I was on the same cruise as you and I would not agree with your opinion on the food. :)
  3. Had GF Kummelweck sandwich on Symphony earlier this year. Had to talk to a chef and pre-order it a day ahead of time. They also had Udi's GF Bagels and made us breakfast bagel sandwiches. @FusionMJM
  4. Symphony of the Seas 1. Hiro 2. Hiro 3. Hiro 4. Hiro 5. Hiro
  5. Thanks for the update. Exact same for us - showed cancelled yesterday and today we have same exact room we had on Voyager
  6. I chatted with them yesterday to cancel a cruise that had Cruise Next certs on them. They said I have to wait up to 7 days for the certs to post back to my account and then they can apply them to another booking. They said it could be handled via chat or phone. Just telling you what they told me. I've always handled things using the chat.
  7. Being the biggest might not be the best thing in these circumstances
  8. I should also add that when I see CEOs leaving (regardless of what they say) it usually means something bad is coming. Richard Fain was around 33 years at RCL and is leaving Arnold Donald was around for 9 years at CCL and is leaving Frank Del Rio has been at the helm 7 years and appears to be going strong but if I see a change there I would also be very concerned.
  9. Me either. I think it would be NCLH.
  10. I know less than nothing about stocks and am only interested personally. I read all the most recent 10-Qs a few weeks ago and felt like the strength was NCLH, RCL, and then CCL. If my memory serves me I believe all 3 said they could operate for the next 12 months with what they have now. Clearly they will all be looking to restructure debt in the future which is going to be a problem unless the economy turns around. 14B NCLH, 23B RCL, and 36B CCL of debt is a LOT of debt with rising interest rates and rising COGS. I'm not trying to play the market. I am looking for long term investments. I don't see cruising ending anytime soon so I have confidence that they will survive long term. I'm just trying to make sure I don't pull the trigger and start out 20-30% in the hole. If RCL gets in the 20s I am buying no matter what. I just don't want to pull the trigger in the 30s and see it head down to the 20s right away.
  11. Fauci is double vaxxed and double boosted and runs around in a mask all the time ... and he now has ... wait for it ... Covid-19 This thing is NEVER going to be over. Covid is with us for a very long time. The good news is that it appears to be getting even more mild with every new variant/wave. I still think about the question: Where would we be now if we had done absolutely nothing at the beginning of Covid and just ignored it. Would we have more or less deaths? More or less variants? Would it still be among us?
  12. So at what price are you a buyer? You mentioned that you liquidated your short positions and might go long at <$40 Any reasonable threat of Chapter 11 and leaving the shareholders holding zero? (in your opinion) Thoughts?
  13. If you deviate then you cannot use their ground transportation. In my case I asked to remove it on the return too. I hear you can remove it entirely without a deviation just by calling.
  14. I didn't either when they gave it to me but they did. They gave me a $25 CREDIT for moving my flight one day earlier. They also allowed me drop both the inbound/outbound ground transportation so I could use my own. In the past I was really terrified about NCL Air but with the reliability and issues the airlines are having lately my thought is that it cannot be worse then booking on your own. 2 of our last 3 returning flights from Florida resulted us in spending the night in another city and getting home 24 hours or more later than scheduled. So if I am going to get wonky unreliable flights I may as well get them dirt cheap through NCL Air. I would still have the options of buying my own flights after I receive the NCL Air flight details.
  15. Just got of the Magic this past Sunday and noticed several of the things you mentioned. In addition to service being mediocre to poor overall. I got a bunch of different answers when I asked various staff on the ship but we were definitely short crew members to the point it impacted service. I actually wrote Heald about the Sea Day brunch hours being cut back and his assistant replied that it was a temporary cutback because of the crew shortages. Carnival is not currently delivering its normal product offering. 😞
  16. I've been on some cruises and I've been on some newer ships on multiple lines. The January 29th, 2022 Symphony of the Seas cruise was my 3rd RCCL cruise and 1st on an Oasis class ship. My previous cruise RCCL was on Adventure of the Seas. I have Celiac Disease and must follow a gluten free diet so part of my experience on any cruise depends on the accommodations with the food. We sailed from Miami (twice) on the same 7 day cruise and went to Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. I'll be honest and say that I'm not loyal to Royal and haven't really been a fan. Although I did keep trying them from time to time I was never WOWed by anything on Royal Caribbean ... UNTIL NOW. Cut to the chase: Oasis Class was a game changer for me. I was finally WOWed by Royal. What follows are a few of my thoughts about Symphony of the Seas: The Great: Hiro - If there is a better show at see then I want to see it. I watched Hiro 3 times on this sailing and would still watch it again. Aquatheater is a game changer. 1977 and iSkate 2.0 ice shows - Love the ice shows Food was excellent with only few exceptions Deck 6 Cabin we had was awesome and in a great spot Boardwalk: Love it Casino was huge and well laid out Sorrentos Gluten Free Pizza Cafe Promenade Park Cafe Chops and Hooked MDR and waitstaff (especially Head Waiter who took my GF pre-orders) 99% of crew was awesome Accessibility in main theater The Good: I thought I would hate Central Park. I saw no point to it. I liked it once I got on board and experienced it. Pools, Hot Tubs, and Solarium - I did not use them but visited the area several times to check it out and it was nice save a few times the cantilevered hot tubs were packed on a sea day Playmakers and Jamie's Italian Windjammer - Gluten Free Corner is small but at least they have one - they can also get you other food there Cruise Director Dennis was better than the other RCCL CDs I had - Activities Manager was great Dazzles Gluten Free soft serve ice cream on Deck 15 Entertainment Overall - Comedians, etc. Just OK: Rising Tide bar seemed like one of those things that looked awesome on video but it was meh in person No gluten free options at Boardwalk Dog No Ben and Jerry's and no gluten free ice cream in Sugar Beach Some of the activities staff didn't seem happy to be there. (mainly the aquatheater line people) Schooner Bar seems underutilized on this ship Don't see the ocean a lot except for your balcony and pool deck The show "Flight" wasn't for me - I liked every other show Logo Store on Promenade was too small and the Regalia stores were too big. General merchandise and sundries were scarce. Solarium Bistro was only open 2 hours at a time on 3 days of the cruise - 6 total hours - Never got to see what was in there The Bad: We had 2938 guests and it felt a little crowded in some places at some times. If this ship had 2000-3000 more people on it I cannot possibly see how it would not be very crowded in places Daytimes activities lacking if you don't go to the pool & outside decks Even on Royal the day hours can be boring when looking for something like trivia, games, etc. - However, if you just want to relax during the day you might but this in the Good section 🙂 Overall I loved the cruise and would go on Symphony again. I would say 9 out of 10. If anyone has any specific questions I will try my best to address. I'm on Celebrity Edge next but have Allure in September and Harmony next January so definitely want more Oasis class experience. 🙂
